Obviously you have changed amongst a bunch of servers ? Seems weird unless you are only on the one server at the same time every session. 24/7 day servers needs balls in their mouth too , big fat hairy ones :)

My mindset has always been the whole survive thing. The reward is logging in every time to my same guy, still alive. He doesn't hide in the forest and do nothing like people seem to think is what goes on if you are not on coast playing pew pew. We get all around the map, sometimes i may do ten or more total journeys over a couple of weeks with a char and in that time meet and help some guys, run for a while with some, have a couple of pew pew encounters. Some spots i really like to go and sus out even after so long playing the game, Green Mountain, Vybor, Krasno, the Castles etc, and at anytime someone can be watching, stalking so i try and play with a steady dose of paranoia, i love the feeling of the forest and the coming into the big open fields around Stary/Novy and other places, wondering if anyone is around. Being down on the coast doesn't give me this feeling as you expect it to be bedlam down there but i will venture to the coastal hot spots a fair few times with a char and pick a nice little spot and watch the shenanigans. Sometimes dive in and try and help someone, other times just watch and then leave them to pew pew it out in the typical Elektro/Cherno/Balota fuckfest. I try and weigh up the risk with most situations by hanging back for a bit and just watching, especially if i am alone..you would be surprised at how long a sniper may wait in a spot with minimal traffic for that shot. Waiting and watching brings many rewards, the big one being your own life. Always looking out for vantage points that are not the norm. Sometimes i bust my own rules and just run around like rambo thinking i am untouchable because i have been alive so long..in this way death comes. I don't crave other player interaction as it is normally just my partner so we know what we are doing, a bigger group imo is to noticable and throwing in randoms generally makes us live a shorter but sometimes more interesting life. We pretty much have a rule of no shoot first unless we have seen the other player kill or be a douche, we have had more friendly interactions in the the SA than kos though which is cool. Basically we just journey around and take our time,sometimes we have a set goal for our session other times it is just , lets head here and see what happens.

My wish is a massive Namalsk type range that stretches across the entire Northern part of the map and once you have the right gear and supplies to make the hard bitter freezing cold journey over the range you are come down into a whole new region with a city. An actual city. The range needs to be worth it though with something like the Namalsk mountain being the smallest of the peaks,terrible blustery snowy conditions, nearly a journey that you would be hard put to do on your own as you would not be able to carry the amount of tools and gear required to get across. Something like this..

I have looked at a bunch of newer stuff but i am waiting for prices to drop a bit more, i never buy current gen gear unless it is a bargain, learnt that lesson many many years ago when trying to get another averagely optimised game running decently.

Don't worry,in a bit you will be wishing for the hard times like you are having now :) Enjoy the newness while you can , it's the best part :thumbsup:

One thing i would really like at some stage down the line is for all of the video settings on one screen in game instead of jumping through several. Small but annoying. Experimental last night killed me in Elektro, even on poverty pack settings, worst i have seen it for a bit actually Disabling clouds is always my go to and the biggest winner on my end for playability and sometimes that is enough. Big problem seems to be it is so hit and miss even for people with nearly exactly the same gear. I have got used to pumping it all up out in the open so i can enjoy the scenery, normally sits around high 30's mid 40's and then dropping it all down again as civilisation approaches. Stutters and drops can be just totally game stopping sometimes and are the closest i have ever come to rage quitting a game :D Like mentioned above i also run a clean rig with minimum processes and like to keep an eye on what my hardware is doing if i am trying to find/solve an issue but after jumping through all of the hoops and tweeting all the bells and whistles on this one i have given up trying to tweak it and am waiting on the devs to throw us a bone. For the record mine is an older rig..Win7 32 (hangs head in shame) with 3g switch applied. i5 @ 3.33 Budget gigabyte board (total champion that just won't give up ) 4 gb no name ram, gtx560ti. 850 psu. I would like to upgrade but i ain't shelling out any money until i have to, and atm when i see people with many hundreds more spent on much later and greater gear having the same issues, it just doesn't make sense to throw my money at the screen...especially when i can run everything else fine.

Sometimes,,sometimes even the tuna doesn't work. But that moment of finding a tin of tuna or bag of rice when starving, grey screened and nearly dead after wandering for miles is more awesome than any airfield firefight.

Give it a few attempts if it comes off as a bit weird at first, my mate was all about 3pp when he started and after much coddling and whispering sweet words in his ear over ts he finally relented and 1pp'd up. Took him a bit to get used to as he also gets a bit freaky/dizzy in 1pp after a while (headbob sorted that) He absolutely loves it now and hates when i suggest a raid on the 3pp servers for some stupidness :D

meh.. 3pp..run around mega stupid kill everything char for me 1pp ..serious dude. I have always found 1st easier for getting around in buildings and doorways etc, i find the 3pp cam view fucking terrible :) same as with driving games..i don't know how people can get a decent experience out of driving a pixel car from their rear wing. We jumped on a reg experimental last night and ended up in 1pp mode anyway as the 3pp just feels shoddy and less immersive, Different strokes, different folks.

There is always a couple of cans of food somewhere..always. From where ever you spawn there is enough places around away from the major first hit places that you can always survive. If Bere looks totally looted sometimes i won't waste my time after hitting a few houses and head either Khelm/Krasno/Olsha/Svet or Polana/Gorka/Dubrovka. Never have i found no food be it a full server or not :)

Four of us ended up meeting in Bere, my partner, myself (we had come from Elektro were my pants were stolen) and two randoms. One was a self confessed noob ' WHERE IS ARMEE BASE ??' while the other guy was a legend with a fire extinguisher. By the time we left Bere we were all shirtless, hungry and had exhausted our bandage supplies. Hit up neaf .. 'THIS IS ARMEE BASE !!!' ..just on sundown and then by the time we made it through Olsha and entered Svetlo it was full dark and headlamps were on. Trying to keep Alex (the noob) in tow was the biggest problem.. 'IS MORE ARMEE BASE ??' ... so we agreed on the train station as a meet up point. We lost Alex somewhere in the dark and despite searching couldn't round him up. Then Thomas hooked off to loot and said he will see us in a few minutes at the traino. My partner and i looted up in the dark and then while eating some sards at the station she was smashed (eat all) and without bandages she died in a house somewhere i lost her in the dark in her mad panic run, we both didn't use gamma as the atmosphere was awesome. I ended up hooking back up with Alex at the station who was then hit and bleeding by five or six zeds we couldn't shake so we legged it West in hopes of making the new joint and a shirt we could rip up. Thomas died in the middle of the road in the dark, leaving me with his last words..'damn, i wanted to see the new town..' checked his pulse..no pulse. While i was scoffing down his beans a marathon mil zed i didn't know was following smashed me from behind so i brought out my shottie and plugged him, not bleeding..sweet. Rechecked Thomas' body and was grabbing his backpack and headlamp when another feckin' mil zed hit me..blazed him with the shottie, last round..but i was now bleeding. Ran about another two minutes and dropped in the middle of a field in pitch blackness wondering if Alex was ok or just running blindly in some forest. good times.

I only had a shottie and the Zeds were respawning seconds after they had died, plus we had no bandages and couldn't risk bleeding :) Fire extinguisher man was a boss dropping them at every opportunity but he also consumed most or our shirts :)

No but i have met ymca man a few times, you got to watch him, one minute all is love and music, the next it is axe murdering and shattered dreams. :) The only guys we saw were Thomas and Alez in Bere and the couple of other chaps who knocked me out and raped me in Elektro :D
