Finally getting one, waited long enough and they have to be past that high failure rate that seemed pretty common early on. looking at these Corsair 120GB Neutron SSD GTXB with the state of the art LAMD LM87800 processor. R/W: 555/330 MB/s $169.00 Samsung 250GB SSD 840 EVO SATA III 6Gbs 2.5 7mm 540MB/s/520MB/s $179.00 Size isn't a huge deal as i have two 1tb hdd and a couple of 500's. I'm going to do a clean win7 64 install on the ssd and throw only Steam, my recording and photoshoppy gear across on it and leave all of my other junk on the hdd's.

Base building with a stick and a two rocks to make an epic fort. Every gun in arma 3 with all attachments available as an option on machetes. Npc traders. Bricks for money. Red bricks are the best. -

[Petition] Password or Kick permissions for SA servers !
Hetstaine replied to ProTECK's topic in General Discussion
Footage is really and always has been the only way ..or if there is any way to find hacks and such in the logs like they used to in the mod ? Rocket said he wanted to give the server owners more freedom so i guess you will just have to wait until the team does :) -
Can you contact them via their site at least before you send it off so you have a history of the issue with them ? If you do send it away bubble wrap that baby like no tomorrow so there is absolutely no chance of damage, i deal with freight companies all day long and a lot of them really don't give a fuck :)

I only said 500w was low,it does meet min req for the card :) I also suspect it would be an el cheapo jobbie. I dont have much faith in online pc warranties in most cases and especially after reading some of those reviews at Newegg. I don't buy pc gear online for this reason. I don't know why you would be against trying at least some minimal attempts at trying to sort it..as long as he isn't hamfisted and go it like a bull at a gate. :)

I have run for hundreds of metres only to drop dead from a guy i killed a minute before who then in turn also killed me. Make sense ? Not at all. .. welcome :D

Wish i was playing games that looked this good ten years ago ;) Far Cry, Half life 2, Fear, Brothers in Arms, Battlefield 2, il2, Colin McCrae Rally, Splinter Cell 3..etc. None of them come close to what the games look like these dayz .

Hmmmm just had a read through newegg on that pc and it seems there are heaps of people who have had issues with it. Maybe you shouldn't start pulling it all down as i don't know what the warranty deal is with them once you start attempting to fix it yourself. Enough reviews there about those rigs that won't boot, pretty shit stuff. Worst thing about buying a prebuilt (generally bloatware) rig is you will find out early on, you get burned. Best thing, you learn how to build one yourself cheaper... faster...stronger :) and will always remember that time you got stitched up. Me being me, i would strip that fucker down and kick it's ass until it worked but i don't know your situation :) good luck either way man.

I still don't think that is the issue. If he would have fried it he would have noticed the old ' fried pc component smell'. Plus it wouldn't even mildly boot, which it is :) The only time i have seen a pc do the start/lights on/fans spool up/hdd normally starts to buzz up and then goes *click* and shuts down is because of a faulty reset switch. You are lucky if she stays on for more than a few seconds. No chance getting any data on screen or a mobo beep of any sort. Which is exactly what he is getting. I would do as i have described a few times now, pull the battery first and give it a minute then put it back in and try it. If still no good then pull the reset switch plug of the mobo like i described earlier and try it again. If it still doesn't boot then eliminate it all. Graphics card out, memory out, no keyboard, mouse or monitor plugged in. Leave just the mobo and psu connected and see if it starts and stays running, if it does it will beep like a mole but then you will know the mobo, psu and cpu are good. If you get to that happy point then put everything back in one by one, monitor first so you can start to see what is going on then memory..one stick at a time, graphics card.. and restart after each item is slotted/plugged back in. See at what point she fails. I could be wildly off base and maybe he did fry the psu but it just doesn't sound right to me :) Saying that, it would be handy if he had a spare psu to plug in and see what happens..never throw away your old stuff people, it always comes in handy when trying to sort hardware issues ;) and always buy bigger than what you need in a psu. Card recommends a 550-600w minimum ? Get a 750w straight up.

Disinfectant and some rotten food is always handy if you bust a leg miles from nowhere.
-
That's my thoughts as well.
-
I run an 850+ on my dodgy little gtx560ti, psu's are too cheap to skimp on in a build :)
-
I've had three with nil issues in the last 13 odd years, of course your mileage may vary.

500 is low, I would want at least 650 myself. Still seems odd that it ran for an amount of time and then is only briefly flickering on. Running into that problem myself and seeing it several times makes me suspect other things but i could be wrong :) Michael , here is a pic of the standard wires that go into the mobo plug i pointed out in the pic, you can't really mess it up if you pull them out one by one, see which one is labelled RESETSW and leave it out. This will not affect anything at all except to eliminate the reset switch as an issue :)
-
You said you had it on for a while so i would doubt that any of the pins are bent :) Your battery will be nearly directly in the middle of that board, in between the CPU and your graphics card. Popping it out for a minute (will reset bios defaults) and is the first and simplest thing you can do that i would suggest :)
-
Ok so it's a Gigabyte board, they are generally good little puppies :) Give me a sec to check one out. Reset button, i have never had a pc without one so it does seem odd.
-
There should be a reset button next to your power on button on the outside of the case. Don't worry about the bios yet :) The battery will be a round one like in a watch, but bigger and flatter, on your motherboard. Do you have any details of what mobo you have ?
-
Try this as well,it may sound weird but i have had the exact same problem with two rigs and seen it on more than a few sites like Toms Hardware and such. Open your case and find out which wire is the one that goes to your mobo that is connected to your pc Reset button. Not the Power on button. Pull that plug out of your mobo and see if it fires. It's a little plug like in the above shot, if you have your mobo book it will give you a layout of what goes where. If that also fails try a simple bios reset by pulling the battery out of the mobo for a minute or so then putting it back in and see if it fires. Should only take you about five minutes to try both :) edit- you are not getting any mobo diagnosttic beeps because you are not getting to the point where it has actually loaded in enough.

Scored one in the TEC building.

Should we all start off with a pistol in Dayz Standalone?

Plenty of us are still here..all of the mods for starters go back to the beginning times when the starter Mak created beach wars. Getting off the beach was harder sometimes than surviving in Elektro.
