Whatever it is ..it is too hot and your card is on the way to suicide :) I would be panicky if my card hit 80 degress let alone the temps you are seeing! Have you overclocked it ? Also do you have msi afterburner ? You can manually select your card fan speed or set a profile for it for certain games so it cranks your fan when Dayz loads. Never recommended to have the fan at 100% all of the time via afterburner though :)

Old rig but runs the game fine on max settings. win7 32bit (boo) i5 @ 3.33 gtx560ti / previous overclocked gtx460 ran dayz just as well. 4 gb gigabyte h55mud2h budget board 850w psu trackir--best gaming investment ever. Like one of the posters above i play flight sims and they generally outdo most fps type games for needed cpu/gpu sucking of horsepower and it runs them fine.

CoD 52 and BF 98 will be out soon so a lot of the dc'ers will leave for the next shoot fest then it will not be as big an annoyance. [/quote'] Well i would say most people who have vehicles and tent stashes and have been playing the game for longer than a week have looked at quite a few maps and know where the edges are. You would know yourself how easy it is to pinpoint where you are by roads, ponds towns etc. Thus you would know when you are off map.

Nice work..moving forward :) Dont hoard stuff off map, simple. Dont whine about the hackers, we all have to deal with them. hoarders or not, just because you have a heap of stuff stashed off map dont bring up the hacking as a reason why. Doesnt float. Protect your stash or lose it like the rest of us :)

Can you afford to go two more rungs up the ladder and get the GTX560TI ? Or even the gtx560 non se ? the se is the entry level card, the non see and ti will give you a bit mor juice for not much more dollars :)

Also..never...ever buy a new pc..you will get stitched. Lots.Besides getting ripped on price they are generally behind the curve the day they hit the shelf. Sometimes well behind.But still at top price. They are also full of manafacturer bloatware. You can always buy all of the components and put it together yourself or have a pc shop do it for you cheaper (much) than you can buy a so called 'top of the line' rig from any of the suppliers.

See if u can get some decent second hand items on ebay or gumtree or similar ? I just had a quick look (aussie ebay) and found a 680 w atx psu for 19.95 and a gtx460 1gb card for 50$ so you should be able to come in under budget :)

Weird..i see for miles..and miles...and miles. Check your settings maybe..View distance in advanced options ? Mine is at 10000 , itdoes not impact my performance so i have it cranked.

pcie replaces the older gen agp , pci type bus , basically just make sure when you shop for a card it is a pci express version and all will be good :) Easiest way is to pop the side off your case and look at the sticker on your psu, sometimes they place the sticker/tag on the back but it is just as easy to open your case.:) Make sure when you are mucking around inside that your pc is totally unplugged from any powewr too dude.

Yep, definitely get a bigger psu , it will not put more power into everything than you need and will future proof you a bit. A 400w psu is oldhat and going to struggle in this day and age, especially if you want to upgrade later. You can pick up a 600w thermaltake psu for 69.95 from newegg. Dont go for all that gold edition bs. Im an nvidia guy so i would choose an nvidia card simply because a lot more games are nvidia optimized and i dislike the catalyst panel, thats just a preference though. The 5770 is a low end card. My missus has a hd6770 and my gt560ti blows it out of the water when it comes to arma, specifically dayz. If you shop around you can pick up a good mid range card (GTX560TI) for around 200$ or a comparable ATI/AMD for about the same - would not waste my money on a 5770 :) Motherboards..i am running a cheapie gigabyte that cost me 149 $ over a year ago, works fine with all of the latest gaming offerings, even creamed crysis 2 at ultra with a gtx460 nividia card, You dont need a bells and whistles gold edition sli board with eight million fancy bs options to be able to game well :) Been there , done that, wasted money. Like someone above mentioned, you also have the option of overclocking..generally minimum benefit but it can boost frames a notch,best bet is to do some research at someone like Black Vipers site to learn how to optimize your system for gaming before you even worry about overclocking. CPU, lots of options, an i5 @ 3.33ghz will run the game maxed and is fairly cheap , once again shop around . You dont need an i7 to run arma/dayz. Ram , dont go for no name memory, but you do not need top of the range either. It is so cheap these days just make sure you get the best bang for buck that suits your hardware. The main thing i have always found is to have a good optimized clean and lean system , start here at vipers site.. BLACK VIPER and check out win7 tips. cheers

Stop feeling sorry for yourself and man up a bit :) If you are wanting to try and make contact, do it from where they cannot see you, get a mic so you chat as it will increase your range to 80 metres instead of 40 via text. Dont run up to people shouting friendly, they will clean your clock. A lot of people will give you a chance unless you are armed to the teeth with an alice pack hanging of your back and an assault rifle in your hands, then you will be shot on sight. Observe a lot more before running into places, see what is going on. There are heaps of clans and people on here looking for someone to team up with, message them and join up. enjoy.

Only been to the NW field twice since i have been playing. The first time i was shot by a dude with nvgs while i cowered in the southern hangars, second time i slow crouched and proned the length of the airstrip - in broad daylight on a half full server and survived. For that i want a nice shiny badge. And not a plastic one either..i'm talking genuine Chinese tin. Never found a high tier weapon either, i left with a Mak and my ak74s that i had grabbed at Balota. I even got a transfusion by a dude my second visit and transfused him in return.
