Well.. someone got out of bed and fell down the stairs into a big cup of fuck off didnt they :) First part, i was just having a stab in the dark at what he might have meant. He pitches his tent, waits to see if the actual tent survives the restart , then puts items inside and it saves. Half measure to a serious problem is better than nothing atm, just throwing in this post what worked for me ..sorry for trying to offer you a a temporary solution Mr Happy.

I think he may be saying it is be a random thing for him but as long as his tent survives the first restart then the gear will ? Unsure. I found three tents in about 30 minutes, one in Zeleno shops and two in Stary shops so it inspired me to actually try and do the whole tent thing..so i probably have a mini camp full of nothing right now i am guessing :) Carted that damn m16 acog thingy from the barracks around for nothing then the bastid. Sorted the glitching our end too, ati and nvidia , look at the glitch esc/video options/advanced/ set vid memory to default/ reset to very high. Works on my gtx560ti, my mates gtx680 and my partners HD6770. sometimes we just have to set it to default and it works without changing it back to very high.

Is saving totally not working or is it a random deal ? I only pitched my first tent last night and have not been in since server restart yet. I guess my morph and bloodbag run from Berezino to near Guglove may not have been worthit then huh :)

Really ? I lost mine only about a week ago, saw it sitting on the bottom, alice pack, swam above it for about 5 minutes and did not see it move at all. My mate sat at the beach.( we were going to head to Skalisty ) waiting to see if i the server had the option enabled or not.

Can of beans and a coke and i am good to head off to Zeleno. Pick up a hatchet in the barn on the way then normally get an alice pack, knife and matches at the supermarket. After that the map is mine to wander.Heli hunting, barracks, Berezino..wherever.

Love the dark, nvgs or not. I finally lost my set on the weekend due to being stuck in mt gear screen and getting Tyson'd with the long timer and surrounded by a horde. All the way up near Novy so back to the coast we go, straight up to Zeleno in the dark and rain. Lovely outing.

I can just see the end of the runway through the trees. BOOM BOOM BOOM. AS50 or M107 ..a bit too far away to tell, but not so far..if you get my drift. Crouch it to a little stack of three firs, you know, the tight in ones that give you good cover. No ghillie, i don't like its wookie style. The standard gear is way more Han Solo cool. And Han always got the girl..you ever see the wookie with a hot chick ? Style always. I crouch to the East of the barracks , sitting below the open field at the southern end of the runway. BOOM...closer now. Moving my head around i center where he is on my headphones BOOM BOOM...just on the other side of the rise. Either this guy is a shit shot, he is keeping whoever it is contained in the barracks or he is wasting ammo on zeds for his own amusement. I am figuring he is suppressing by the amount of shots going off. I crouch up the rise..nearly at the top i prone..crawl..looking down now towards the bush and trees surrounding the barracks. MOTHERFUCKING KABOOM! I nearly jump outta me seat! Fuk me..i must be right on him! Crawl forward a tiny bit more and flatten the grass..shoes ..legs..well hello mr sniper. He is right there...in the open, If he turns he is eating a facefull of dmr. I stay there for about five seconds thinking..then hit gear...L85 and ammo in his pack, water bottle, bunch of as50 mags ,cooked steaks and morphine. I have no room. Look where he is looking ...cant see any action. He crawls sideways so i automatically reverse over the rise. Run back down to my tree , dump my water and coke, eat my steak, plop my fnfal an nightvison thingy and mags on the ground. Crouch back up..get prone behind him again. He moves sideways and i prone in. G ..open coyote. Loot all. I put four of my five bandages and a pepsi in his. He fires at fuk knows what three times and while i am proning backwards i see a Sergei is dead pop up. I think about capping him..but ..chances are he is popping server hoppers so go to it son. Run back down to where my shit is , dump his stuff under the trees, grab my shit and cruise away from the field. Hear him shooting in the distance. Fucking noisy ass AS50. I wonder if when he checks his pack if he thinks it is a glitch or a hacker maybe fucking with his shit. Wish i had a dew to give him instead of the pepsi. When i was creepin up to loot him i was as keyed up as i have been in any firefight, i hope the guy appreciates the work i put in to knock off his gear and still leave him alive :)

Its not really a bad general idea op, but the religion thing is a touchy subject for a lot of people :) i like the book side of it like Terroviktor posted above. For me the written word is an important thing, i love books and always have. Electronic stuff that people place so much importance on these days, for the beginning of an event like this would take a back seat, and books would become a very important tool for mankind again, as it does in the book of eli. After i had a base of operations in a forest or whatever and felt secure in the world books would be one of things i would collect.

Min requirements ? I was running current build with what i posted above and maxed out, all on very high. Only thing i have upgraded is my card to a gtx560ti. Game runs sweet and smooth as. Latest drivers, lean out your machine with background processess killed etc. Shut down all of your uneeded crap, game face on.

I would suggest that the first system requirements ( xp , core2duo and 8800gt) would be low graphics settings, choppy in built up areas and probably look like shit. Definitely do yourself a favour and go at least two gen beyond that if you can afford it. 8800GT is a damn old card and so is the cpu. Arma ran average on that four odd years ago. I wouldnt want to play it ..even current version , with under 4 gb ram , gtx460 or above and win 7 with a 3.33ghz cpu. Anything lower and you are dropping settings for playability. Did they even mention vista..what was that thing ?

Been stuck in that exact spot, nothing i did worked so i walked away ..let him starve out. Lost my fucking Mak. Respawned near Balota and Raged hard killing goats and running down rabbits across four servers. Took a tree to the forehead and slid down an incline snapping all my shit and bending my back upside down on a rock. Died in the woods alone while the fucking rabbit looked at me with its lifeless eye. Fuck that room amd fuck that rabbit.

Partner and i were running down from Novy to a bicycle spawn on the main road near Guglovo. Zeds spawned just near a few crappy buildings halfway between Guglovo and Novy , instead of taking them out we cut a right into a plowed dirt field to take a curve around them. Halfway across this field i hear this slight droning in my headphones..'shhhhh be quiet ..i think i can hear a vehicle ..' its about 1.25 am and cloudy, we both have nvgs though. I crept up towards the road going from bush to bush when this motorbike comes roaring up the road with two dudes on it..she has moved back towards the treeline. I tell her to go prone behind a tree and scope them, but she had lost her DMR previously and only had an ak74 kob and m1911. No matter, i tell her if shit hits the fan just try and cover me as best you can and pissbolt for the full forest if you need too. The bike dives off the road and heads into the field, they would have known we were there as they would have spotted the zeds when they came up the road. They head for me and my partner is like ' they are comin staight at you ! ' i am crouched and have them mscoped but i always have this stupid plan that we can try and hook up with other survivors, or just say gday and head our seperate ways.. 50/50 it works..really. So they must have spotted me scoping them from beside my small bit of scrub bush as they suddenly veer away full noise back to the road. I crouch follow and get to beside the road and prone in some bushes trying to spot them. The road here is higher than the field so i am fully covered on one side from being spotted. I assume they have thermal and tell my partner to try and stay as concealed as possible or work her way to the rise behind her so she get down the other side and be fully hidden. She says she is too scared too move lol..we can both hear th bike faintly, then it goes quiet. We wait. About ten seconds later shooting erupts and i can hear the thwip noise over ts of the bullets passing by her..'they are shooting at me fuk fuk fuk! ' i tell her to get up and boss it over the rise , i will see if i can spot them if they follow. Then she says she is hit and bleeding. So far they have fired at least ten or so times , she is still at about 6 blood and has made the rise and going down the other side. She tells me she sees a barn directly in front and is going in to bandage. I am just looking around waiting for someone to pop their head up somewhere. She makes the barn and immediately has to cap a zed, and as she starts to bandage another zed is on her, broken legs, timer..dead. Fuk. I am wanting to bolt for the opposite forest but only have a general idea of where these two guys are, the forest i want to get to is a good 30-45 second sprint so chances of death are possibly high. Where i am is a nice little spot as like i said they could only see me from one side and since me and my partner where seperated by a couple of hundred metres i dont know if they would be looking for me there. I decide to chance it and get up ready to piss bolt..then i am diconnected from game. Fuuuuck. Try three times to reconnect but my partner who has spawned at Drakon says i am getting some sort of error on her screen when i enter. Ten or so minutes later i finally get in after i do a steam verify (thanks guys who i asked last night for help) , i spawn at the same spot, go to the barn and grab her nvgs and gps and head down the road to meet her halfway. Every know and again i can hear the bike in the distance so i stick to the treeline all the way down and we meet up again jsut south of Staroye. Was a good heart pumpin little sesh even though i never fired a shot, and never saw the shooters after they booked it through the field on their bike. Just knowing that they were out there looking for us, possibly with thermals and that we were going to lose all of our shit and have to start afresh had me keyed up. Flip side was when i got booted at least the guys would have seen my char name get booted becasue of the error code so they knew we did not log, obviously they would have notched up a kill as well. Because we dont log unless it is a teleport or the Alice message it just isnt a factor when it comes to our gameplay. In a shoot out or an ambush wether it is with suspected thermal equipped players, snipers or some crazy fuk with an axe, doesnt matter , stay and play. If we would log in situations like that the whole feel of the game and being in a tight situation where you more than likely do not have the upper hand becomes a moot point. All you are doing is hanging onto your gear and nothing more. tldr..wall of text..meh.
