Re the mouse movement, someone posted a good thread on it a while back that summed it up very well, do some forum digging :) . Personally i have minimal issues with it but your mileage may vary depending on what you are used to i suppose, I find most other mainstream games are extremely easy point and shoot pieces of piss to kill. Under split second raise gun/scope/shoot/instakill sniper rifles that are just a fucking joke. The arma style seems to put everyone on more of a level playing field. -

Take on Helis has been out for a year now, is part of the arma series ,although it is its own standalone branch away, and he has the guys who made it working alongside of him. Bonus item is that is has an improved physics model. Using TOH as a base does not sound rushed to me and it makes absolutely no sense to start again with a scratch built engine. As Rocket has stated plenty of times , a lot of the things that do not work well in dayz because of the arma base are because they are only mucking around on the outskirts of the engine. With the standalone they will be delving right into the guts to make it suit. I would imagine they will make quite an impact as compared to what we have currently. Read the one line thread and the qa thread. I don't think he will be too fussed if warz beats him to punch on a release although it is always good to be first out the door i would not imagine it would be too worrying. Some from the one line thread.. 2. Q: What are some improvements we might see when DayZ is ported to RV4 (Arma3) engine? [blaf] A: DayZ will run on a branched Take On helicopters (RV3) engine. It is already being customized to DayZ specific needs. The main improvement is an engine tailored to DayZ's specific needs. Q: This may sound a tad rude, but many people agree: ARMA II was poorly optimized which causes many of us to get poor FPS. Has this been addressed in the new engine for the standalone? A: I wouldn't agree ArmA2 is poorly optimized. But yes, it is not optimized for the purposes of something like DayZ, and that is easy enough to address as a standalone. -

They too are being posted everday :) It's a constantly changing class and the teacher keeps moving the goalposts..although sticking to the original basic theme. I don't know if you could wrap it all up in one tidy essay quite yet..but old mate about40sheep above does it for at least 50% of the playing population :) 'i wanted to play this game of survival how i thought it was to be played and try to interact nicely with other players. I was shot therefore i know will kos.' I think this is why so many people have struggled with the concept and turned it into a kos game. It is far easier to kos than it is to not. i did write a big roundup as i see it but cloudflare ate it so i will stick with the part option that is repeated on here every day for many months now... Raed about it on another forum and downloaded it that night. Back when the mak was still a spawn weapon,bandits were fairly rare and scriptees had not popped in to ruin the fun. Convinced my mate and partner to get their own copy by the next weekend. -

Tried Cheneraus today after months

You sir can linger for i too am a man of the foresty wilderness although last night was spent along the coast which was rare for us.. Cherno ..last night. One guy pops up in airport tower as i am heading in the back fence, partner drills him , he dies I swap out ak for hatchet and creep in. Partner is providing cover behind me in forest. Hack one bandit dude waiting on the stairway who panicks and misses when i run in. Go upstairs and collect an m16 and stanags. Bandage a new spawn guy outside the hangars who is taking fire from near the tents. He then runs out into the open like a mental head and dies. Partner takes out the shooter. A guy pops in front of me with m14 drawn near the burnt out hummers, i panick and spray a burst with my m16 , the guy tells me over direct ' look out idiot, i am in hero clothes!! ' I say 'sorry man i was a bit jumpy' and he heads off to the tents. Partner and i head to Cherno to get blood, end up engaged in a shootout with a choppa whilst i am showing her the highest building in Cherno and the layout of the city. Choppa withdraws after taking hits and calls out ' were gonna get you dirty snipers! ' . Partner falls of building in the excitement of it all and reruns up from Kamenka. Meets a suicider on the bridge and they do an in sync swan dive. She only breaks her legs and has to repeatedly crawl up and launch of the bridge until she finally starts bleeding. She meets another chap running from Komarovo and they hook up for a bit, she has to hatchet some guy who is poping a mak at them outside of Cherno apartments ,who she kills , and then we hook up and log for the night. Saw a quantity of zero alt f4. Met three non kos , one suicider. Capped three bandits , one survivor and narrowly missed killing a hero. Can't complain about that action. -

Tactics does not make too much sense as stated above. One idea buried in here somewhere was a sort of 'leader' zed/infected. Along the lines of I am Legend. One that howls louder than the others if it spots you thus alerting the others and calling more on you than you would normally aggro. This zed needs to not be identifiable though and must look like the other ones so you cannot just take it out before heading in. Also every town/village/industrial area does not have to have one, just the chance of one to keep you on your toes When you hear the loud howl/scream , you know it is time to get the fuck out of dodge Something along those lines anyway. -

Public server we have our long lived full survivor mode chars that we log on two or three times a week and play like paranoid freaks, priv hive has our no remorse no repent chars. Still get mass killed but admins are active and banhammer falls very fucking quickly. If hackers are pissing you off then you need to take a step back, get outside and take a big fat breath of sweet sweet oxygen and then return to game, aint no real joy till standalone dude.
