I was clearly being slightly sarcastic Sir Duke ;) To me all of the high powered stuff like this just go against my feel of the whole dayZ theme. If it had a rarity of 0.01 with ammo only found with it and not by itself ..maybe. More military weapons does not make the game. We have enough games with a million guns/launchers etc. What about taking out armoured cars/buses/trucks with the old school dirt pit trick ? or spikes, shooting out the tyres, molotov cocktails ? No need for higher grade weaponry imo.

Down with dirty scopes, bino's etc and the ability to lcean them. Most games always seem to portray them as scratchy old worn things when you look through them as if they are never looked after or uncleanable.

That being said i did see him with a lady once who actually had teeth and i was pleasantly surprised ..until she spoke over direct and was more manly than Arnold. Steak being possibly the only survivor of a slenderman encounter as even, even Slender has his limits.. Steak can push anyone past them. On topic though, my partner plays and has been a gamer for many years getting into flight sims and a few shooters. She has not had much grief yet but takes no prisoners ..she has more wit than 90 % of the guys online so makes mince meat out of the ragers/abusers rather easily. Way back in the day ..the original cod and then uo we had a chick in our squad who used to be absolutely ferocious when she gamed, good value and she could shoot the buckle of your pants with a kar 98 at distance. Guys who found out he was a she were generally cool, guys who carried on ..mouth of a sailor ? She was the damn captain when it came to giving out :D

Nice but invasive :) What if me and steak and mash are involved in some tranny action in a barn near Stary ? I would like that kept out of forum videos if possible . No one is kidding themselves..of course standalone will be hacked, i just do not think it will see the levels of hacking that are rampant atm and have been for some time.

The Royal Titanic Express you idiot ..grab a lifejacket :) I like the scent idea, obviously picking up a name is silly but the scent deal is cool. Say you have been hit in a shootout or whatever and have to start running because you hear dogs coming..imagine the panic ! You need to bandage but have not the time or the dogs will be on you , needing to find a way to drop them like climbing a vertical area, running through water etc. Risking staying still so you can pop them..and letting the owners gain distance on you. Even if not wounded it would still instill some fear as you know not far behind the dogs tracking you are the guys with guns.

The whole distance thing/nameplate , i only play on vet or reg , nameplate servers are not worth my time..and this whole idea does not apply to that. I think some people are getting that confused ? There will only be a name shown if you drop your veil. To me it would be something that you would not see under a distance from say 10 metres once veil was dropped. A lot ower if in bushes,shadows,running etc. And something not shown at all from behind regardless of veil on/off. I think even under a scope the name can be shown if veil is off , but of course only at the full zoom level..say where a face is nearly taking up your whole scope. If they are like above, shadowed,running, concealed somehow by grass/bushes then the nick is not shown. There (if have read the whole idea correctly) will be no option for any nameplate on vet and upwards unless you drop the veil.

Tinypic ftw :) I was just wondering how many autogyros you would expect to find in the sort of region we are running around in.I know the russkis have a bit of history with them as do several other countries but in all reality they are a rare thing. Not saying it would not be a cool thing but the amount of times i have seen autogtro come up simply because it was in a MM movie..

My point is that this idea punishes players for a certain play style. Totally, punishing a playstyle with a ban result is simply out the window for me. With a brick.

It is a solid idea as someone above said. You have the choice to reveal your perma nick and that choice is totally yours in most situations. Bandits can force your hand to reveal as well... which may make you more cautious as you will not want to be found by them for whatever reason..possibly they are hunting your named char because you nailed a few of them after you gained their trust and then stole their gear. They will know your nick obviously and are now running around forcing everyone to lift their face wrap to find you. Certainly will add to the tension if you have the balls to stay on the same server ;) Dropping your veil will also be something that will instill trust, you are showing them..hey this me. And the opposite if you wish..hey this is me..BLAM! BLAM! :D The building of a legend, a regular joe or a bandit. A lot of this is done by forums anyway..Dr wasteland for example,,everyone knows who he is, but i have met plenty of guys that do not post here and are known on certain servers only. Being bandaged and morphed as you lay bleeding from a zed hit by some random guy. Just before he leaves he drops his veil and you realise ' Al Caponesta ' the most feared killer and thief of the dayz servers has just helped you ! I like it :beans:

Two people in a group, both lined up on target. First person always shoots to miss so the second can drop them without losing karma. What was the answer to that ? Because he needed food he is good to go ?.. easy then. Everyone runs around with no food and water on them killing because the karma will not be affected, they killed because they needed it, or so the game thinks. What happens if i kill someone for food/drink because my hero champion of Chernarus is low on blood, blinking out on food and water..i have been alive twenty five dayz and do not want to risk my char from being kos so i think fuck it..this is survival and i am dying. I pop him then run in to loot and four more guys come running in the distance..his buds. I have to leg it as i do not have time to loot. I manage to take out all four..hey my life was definitely at risk but then bam..i am banned. Why..because i genuinely needed food or drink ? You simply cannot ban to try and stop pvp. Regardless of the humanity system or a karma system..people are still going to want to play how they want. Bandit, hero.. whatever. If one dude fires a gun in Elektro to kill a zed and a whole bunch of survivors are within the required distance ( you mentioned 1000m so lets use it) for the Karma system to only apply to the first guy who shot at the zed does that mean it is open season for everyone in that 1000m circle ? A clan or even a small group could still easily march around the map all day killing whoever they wanted by alternating the guy who shoots first thus only lowering his karma by 20 out of your 100. And then just bandage/blood/morph a mate and regain. There is so many variables to take into account with a system that can end in banning, no matter what you do there will be loopholes..there is no way to effectively 'police' it correctly. Banning is the ultimate wrong way to go about it though. Slightly OT, when i read Sergeys topic about how he is going to make life miserable for players who spawn kill, it really tripped me out. I mean..really ? That sort of mindset to me is just totally whack. Why not just send someone over to grab my gpu out and hit me on the head with it because i did not follow the rules. Absolutely ridiculous. Reminds me of a powertripping OHS guy i was unfortunate enough to know and his insane rule set. Back on topic..being spawn killed can suck, being spawn killed repeatedly can suck, being killed and not looted with an old char sucks even more. KOS in general can suck. Banhammer and rules within a game like this suck a fukton more. A really big fukton :) The humanity system was an ok experiment and i have no idea if it will make it into the alpha or beyond, i liked it because i wanted to achieve my pretty clothes ( yeh i know..gay huh lol ) but i think the bandit clothing being forced is crap. You will not tell a bandit in rl. Gaining the hero suit is a choice, getting the urban turban is forced on you and does not work as intended. I have had to work off my bandit skin twice because of kos types, i dont give a rats really that they tried to pop me but i hated the turban when i had to self defense. Survival, deal with it :) There is going to be assholes in a apoc that might shoot you because they like your mexican sun hat and whether they have 1 or 30 murders ..they are not going away until someone takes them down. Karma is only coming at them out of a barrel.
