if hopping would not be possible servers would have enough loot for everyone playin. there are more places than elktro and cherno to loot u know? never traveled north? even in these times its been told that there are magical supermarkets with shitload of loots because no one walks up there. and even the barracks would have stuff in them because no fuckerz hopping through realms stealing everything. -

u dont bleed from 1 hit from a Z. its kind of a random thingy if you start to bleed by the 1st hit. got hit several times today, no bleeding at all. -

yeah penalty systems will not be tolerated by the pvpers. no chance. but i think you can work with this idea. maybe lower penalties more. if you begin to murder as a "normal" person out of fear and the will to survive it WILL touch you mentally in someway. being alone over a long time also changes your personality. in fact it will seriously damge you mentally if you dont believe me ask your trusted local psychotherapist. so maybe at some time after killing a bunch of survivors your breath rate will be higher and/or your heartbeat rate will rise if you have pray in sight. later your hands get shaky occasionally. maybe you see no Zs more but only human skins. i dont know how far insanity and visual aspects work together... all this penalties have to be revertable through time or positive actions. but still: pvpers dont like the slightest of penalties even if it would make sense. -

the run-tactic does not work for me. because: 1) you need to have a little bit luck to lose Zs 2) better there are no kos-survivor around 3) place already looted + Zs following = not cool 4) barbed wire 5) worst case: several respawns and server hops until it works out you can easy need longer than 20mins with your tactic. its a 5 min run only if everything works togehter.

cool story. you see a dead body with morphine on it and you say: mnaaa i dont need that rare stuff that i havent seen for hours idont have this rare stuff, but hey i wont need it anyway... and than: yay! this dead body has morphine, i'll grab it. strange.

oh ok i forgot to write that because i thought its common sense. but here you go: be aware of Z walking directions an go crouched-walking into areas with buildings. my plan works pretty well than. \\edit. oh and for me ~20min looting without Zs on my ass is fast in my terms ^^

or easier: 1) enter the next building that has an open door. 2) if there is a can of food and soda be happy and leave the place, if there is even more stuff be more happy, else repeat this until you have a can of food and a soda. 3) search buildings at the outer rim of a city for a waterbottle, knife, hatchet and if you really have balls visit a hospital to gather a few medical supplies. 4) head to one of the smaller towns inland. raid a supermarket there, since its much more safe inland. gather the things you have probably missed until than (backpack, map, binos, primary weapon). you are set in about 20min relativly safe and you got it all to survive forever (if you were lucky enough to grab matches on the way). enjoy your survival.

maybe rain could stall dieing through thirst but for real.... dieing through thirst or hunger is nothing less but bad routeplanning. grab a map and plan your route around lakes or waterpumps. allways drink on lakes and refill the empty bottle. if you have the tools to hunt you wont die on hunger either. dieing because of these things is simple stupidity. -
out of logic i would tell you don't let the Z hit you with a charged attack. pull him to a tree dance around until he stands for a second, go in for the axe chop. profit.

i did not read everything but a few sentences of point 2 but even that point is NOT valid. i started with 1.7.1 without any arma knowledge. just bought the game out of an impuls watched a few letsplays during install and started right of even without playing the shooting range. while Z behaviour is pretty easy to predict (even in super spider sense times) i actually needed the weapontraining. simply to understand how the gear works, the backpack and of course the shooting. but it was never frustrating. i dont know how often i died at the start but now i mange to get basic gear pretty fast and i can survive quite long in the north, at least until my morphine or blood runs out. if you know how to use your brain and if you have the ability of having patience. this game is easy even for starters. i think there are flaws in the alpha that are much stronger than pve difficulty.
