How many people does this server average? I was on there yesterday but I was the only one. I'm in Australia, so it could have been the time difference.

I've been pretty lucky myself, but I remember shooting this guy in the legs at that mountain between Cherno and Elektro. Half an hour later he was announcing on side chat that he was sitting on the train tracks waiting for a train to come and end it all.

I don't want to sign up, but if you don't mind, I would like to know what server you play on. I enjoy a good clan fight.

Was really enjoying this server, but I was participating in an event when I "think" i became a bandit. I shot a guy off of his ATV then I was kicked for "script restriction #45". Can't get back in the server now, same thing happened when I tried to change into a ghillie suit.

Great server so far, lots of vehicles on the coast to get you started. The only thing I disagree with is spawning with an Alice Pack, thats the 2nd largest pack in the game....I would stick to the patrol pack but its not up to me.

Killing people is to quick, its over straight away and you receive no real....response from the victim. It's much more fun to shoot them in the legs and bandage them at Kamenka so that they have to crawl JUST so they can kill themselves. Of course, you do this properly and remove your backpack so they cant steal anything from you.

I think it would be really cool to see things like bows buffed a tonne in the standalone. Things like this should be more common, as opposed to the Lee Enfield or AK.

I know the feeling, I used to have some crappy package where I got on and off peak. Up until 12 noon I had 13GB, then until midnight I had 7GB. This reset monthly ofc but was still annoying as hell. Especially when trying to purchase games on Steam, 1 "good" game would use up my entire usage for a month. A while ago I upgraded the package and now I have 50GB a month. Not great, but certainly an improvement from what I had. Especially the lack of on and off peak.

The shift - click method will allow you to see the waypoint on your HUD when you don't have your map out, thats assuming the server has them enabled. If your trying this and it's not working then just try another server, I find most servers have them enabled but sometimes come accross one that doesnt.

When I sneak up on a player I give them clear, simple instructions through the mic. If they obey, I help them out and we both get out of there alive. If they try to run or choose not to follow these instructions then they get shot. Same goes for if someone sneaks up on me, if they take a shot then I run for cover and a firefight goes down. If they give me instructions then I follow them unless I get the feeling they are going to execute me, in which case I look for the best opportunity to take them out.

No heroes among thieves. I can see you getting a bandit mentor, then just as your nearing the end of your bandit training he teaches you the No.1 rule of banditry. He will shoot you in the back and take all the gear you and your mentor have worked hard to obtain over the weeks. Everyone's an enemy until proven otherwise.

I'm very interested to see how you remake the inventory system. I think it would be really cool if you had like a picture of a human in a cross shape, and each body part had a reading (similar to that of vehicles, e.g. red engine, orange fueltank you would have red legs if they are broken which would change to green when morphine is applied). As for the weapons, definately more civilian style weapons. It feels like automatic rifles are far too common atm, there should be MANY more pistols/police weapons, maybe a baton(or whatever that poking stick that they use it called) or a taser?

This happens to me, but they dont load too late. Infact I have a bit of an advantage. They dont load for a good 30 seconds to a minute for me, so I can drive on perfectly clean roads. Scares the shit out of people when their in the car with me though, can't count the number of times someone has said "how are you driving through all this stuff?". My friends say this will screw them over one day, that something will spawn infront of us while I'm driving and that will be the end. But I truck on, nonetheless.

As soon as you start up that hack your no better than the guys that ported the whole server into the ocean. Its a challenge for normal players to deal with hackers, but its an unfortunate part of the game.

I play DayZ with a friend regularly, and we are keen to make ourselves a camp with a few vehicles and start helping people. Any suggestions on how to go about this? Specifically suggestions for vehicles, almost every server we go to has no more vehicles since the larger clans have taken them. We found some on NZ 22, but that entire server has been hacked. How do you guys go about finding them, and when you do how long does it take you to get them up and running?

Just found a bandit camp with my friend, bandit shot my friend but I managed to shoot the bandit. Unfortunately no vehicles but he had 2 M4A1 Holo SD's on him. I know the M4A1 HOLO is legal, but what about the SD? I REALLY hope it is cus its a very nice gun :)

Try a more populated server, and stand in the middle of a town. I only play on certain servers because of their ping/playerbase.

Im a MAC, you got what you deserved. If you didn't want a shotgun to the face you shouldn't have shot at me with your makarov after saying you were friendly.

The number of Bandits alive is on the statistics thing at the homepage, I would like to see number of Heroes alive on there as well. Until then maybe you can help me out with that.

I suppose I'll give this a try. Spawned in Balota, headed to Cherno with buddies. Got geared up and headed to Elektro. Arrived at the outskirts of Elektro, went to loot a barn when my buddy gets shot. I drag his body out of the line of sight and fix him up. After some serious waiting, we head to the powerstation. Loot and on our way to the store get shot by a sniper in the hills. Spawn in Cherno, get a winchester from the appartments. Hear a car, try to steal it. I drive the car out of the city when my player collapses without a sound. Spawn back at Balota, my friends at Kamenka. Meet at Balota Airfield and get some guns. Go to cherno appartments, see a bandit and take him down. Guy teleports beside me and shoots me dead. Spawn in Elektro, head to the offices. Pick up a double barrel shotgun and find 2 players who claim to be friendly. One takes aim and fires at my legs with his makarov, he gets a round in the chest. His buddy finishes me off. Spawn about 10 minutes from Elektro, run there to find that my buddy has dispatched the traitors. Take their Coyote backpack, full set of tools and DMR with 8 spare mags. Begin north journey, get shot in the woods by a sniper. And thats were I logged for the night.

We've found 3 vehicles before, 2 jeeps (LAV's or something) and a boat. I was stupid enough to roll the first car on the Elektro traintracks, the boat we found was in the middle of the docks with no fuel so it was pretty much useless, and I lost us the 3rd car when I made the mistake of trying to ram a hacker. Guess its time for a treck to see what can be found!

I started the game with the intention to shoot on sight, but I soon found that it didn't suite my playing style. I started being friendly to people, only shooting if they were aggressive to me and helping people out when I could then before I knew it i had a Hero skin. Some people are Bandits, some people are Heroes. Some people are caught in between. It all depends on how you play the game.

Server: NZ 3 Time: About 10am, not sure what timezone but I live in Sydney Australia. What Happened: So me and my friend are looting the apartments in Cherno, when we hear a vehicle pull up outside. We look out the window and sure enough theres a car on the hill with a man in a ghillie suite driving. He gets out and starts scanning the area for players, when my friend puts an entire makarov mag into him. Not a scratch, no broken legs, not even any bleeding. He returns fire with his fully automatic sniper rifle. By this point I've snuck out of the building to try and steal the car, when the guy goes into the apartments I get in and drive off. I look to be in the clear when I start getting shot at by the same weapon from all directions. The gunfire stops, I drive a little longer, my character collapses and I die. His name was #1 Bandit.

Your basically playing watered-down DayZ. If your servers only up when you want it too then your vehicles are always safe, wheres the fun in that? I breathe a sigh of relief when I log on and see my car still sitting there. DayZ creates an atmosphere that your missing out on when you play it like you are. Try actually playing the game as it was intended, you might get a suprise.
