There's a vocal majority of whiners complaining about .63's new reloading mechanics. PLEASE keep it how it is currently in the stress test version(s). It rewards players that actually prepares themselves (rewarding patience and "slowing down") which is a GREAT thing in this game, it is a SIMULATOR. The hotbar-reloading method is genius and it REALLY feels DayZ-like; hitting a single key like R should not automatically ready your firearm. The hotbar method really simulates the character putting things in easy to reach places-- making their magazines easily accessible to reload. KEEP IT THIS WAY. Don't listen to the whiners. I guarantee you that your guy's true fans love how it is. Don't appeal to the "returning" whiny self-entitled assholes that criticize anything veering away from the norm. Stick to your own flavor!

Recorded+edited by Kiwuu; This took place on Wolves In the Mist, a public hive community server. Everybody we met were complete randoms that we teamed up with. Pretty awkward video, part 2's coming soon, which is filled of action (confusing action since we got 7 people running around...)

Stamina shouldn't be connected to soft skills, I think it should just be connected to how healthy your character is. So if you want to be able to run the longest, stay hydrated and energized.
-
0.63 (most likely) will have the new player controller (the way you control) it will include stamina

The point isn't to complain about how you lose items in the grass It's a good idea imo, I don't think it's arcadish. It's still minimal UI. This is a video game and it's pixels that we're looking at, it'd be nice to have little things that simulate to make it more relate-able to real life.

and they're going to (most likely) fix that and make the ragdolls better looking so their physics are more like arma 3. And yikes, I see you already mentioned it will be fixed eventually, my bad, but yeah, they shouldn't bother making an animation when something is going to be fixed eventually anyways. I like the idea of executing with melee, like slitting the throat. Although I'd like to see some death animations that blend into ragdolls eventually, like if you get shot in the stomach your guy clinches his stomach and then falls over turning into a ragdoll, etc.

Just wondering. I made this sign for a map I have planned. I'm gonna make a lot more unique models for it too, and the main thing about it will be a giant urban city in the center of the map. Sketchfab Link

I know right, I really hope for a mod that will show everyone's position on the map that u can see every 30 second interval lol it'd make the experience sooo much more realistic oh yeah I really, really really hope theres a mod one day that removes all zombies and replaces them with civillians that u can give food and sell guns to lol and yeah lol lol yeah

To be honest, Wild West themed DayZ sounds pretty damn cool. I'd totally wanna do it, just gotta see how DayZ's modding tools are gonna be like.
-
No offense man but I hate this idea. Won't fit in dayZ at all. I really don't like playing video games and having to grind on them to have fun.
-
Why call it a "dayz ghille suit"? why not just have it be your own creation, your suit
-
To be honest, this would be a pretty nice thing to have. Me and my friends talked about it as a joke, but thinking about it it seems like it'd have a good place in the game; it will award those who are sneaky and stealthy and punish those who do not check their back.

Agree, and maybe an item you can find that's an actual quiver and not improvised that can hold more. Could work the same way as a chest holster except it holds stacks of arrows and not pistols.
-
Totally agree about the GPS part. And it's already 1 map, the whole 4 pieces thing was in an earlier build. However, right now, the in-game map doesnt function at all, it's broken because of the new UI that was introduced in .60 i believe

Stagger animation, played when a player or infected or even wolf sprints directly into you. Doesn't completely lock you out of your control, but still pushes and stuns you from swinging a melee/etc. Random death animations. Killing a player shouldn't immediately make him go ragdoll unless it's a headshot, some deaths should be at first an animation and then a transition into a ragdoll (Miscreated has this.) A few examples; Shotgun blast sending the player flying back a little backwards; player clinching his stomach and falling on his knees; etc. Also flinching when shot, a good example of this in another game is SP The Last Of Us.

Where are you Guys findings hunting scopes on 0.61 stable?
Mr_Joe replied to chrhein's topic in General Discussion
Go check out the eastern coastal cities. There's always trumpets with hunting scopes attatched in houses there. -
They could make all official servers first person, as official servers should be the most vanilla and true to the experience, but allow community servers to have the option for thirdperson, assuming the public hive system is hopefully gonna be gone in the future since it's not gonna work at all with base building and is already abused in many ways. Also, I do not like your idea.
-
They already have a change of physical abilities. They have improved stamina and agility, and a monsterous rage that doesn't die down. I'm not talking about mutations like Left 4 Dead (although, It'd be great for a modification imo), but rather a variation of capabilities in the infected population; some being able to run faster than the player, etc. It'd also be great if they introduced infected being able to grab or tackle the player.

It's really all just by random chance my friend, I dont think any server is really different.

Will the public hive system eventually be removed? I think it should. Once base building comes it's going to make no sense at all to still have it. First off, people could simply log out join a different server to get inside your base, or whatever shelter you have going on. For example, you could of barricaded an apartment building in Cherno, and called that your shelter. Someone will see it, log out join a different server, walk in, and log back in the server so they would be inside. And some sort of "anti-glitch in" system would be extremely flawed, as it'd lead to a bunch of problems that you guys can probably see without me explaining. Second, people will be server hopping like crazy to get gear for their tents and containers; something that's already happening. There will be no risk of leaving your base to go get supplies for it and have the chance of someone spotting you and following you back to your base. I think it's for certain that public hive is eventually gonna be removed, and every server's gonna have it's own database eventually. What do you guys think?

Yeah man it's awesome. I hope we get more infected and way better infected AI. I wanna see atleast hordes of 50 being a common occurence in big cities.

Unable to shoot when too close to a wall / Gun clipping walls possible fix
Mr_Joe replied to Windstride's topic in Suggestions
Good idea, hope we see it with the new player controller. It's always great to see characters reacting realistically to the environment in games. -
I get it; they're infected humans, however I think mutations are very plausiable, so I agree with what gannon's saying. Some zeds should be able to run faster than the player, be more vocal, etc.

Thoughts on infected/wolves being able to "grab" you and push you?
Mr_Joe posted a topic in General Discussion
I feel like it'd add a lot to the game (not in a huge way but in a good, minor way) if infected were able to grab players. It wouldn't necessarily be a quick time event but to break free you would have to try to move around a lot to wiggle free or press a key to push the zed off. It'd be cool if wolves could also bite on to you and you'd have to wiggle them off. It shouldn't be something like, if you get grabbed, you instantly stop all movement; it should feel smooth. And about zombies pushing the player, it's already in but I don't feel like it's intended. It'd be cool if it could later down the road be an intended feature, where sprinting zombies could bump into players and stagger them (an example of this from other games could be GTA). Again, it should be a fluid and smooth mechanic. Sprinting players running into other players could also have the same effect, I think it'd make stuff look more visually appealing. What do you guys think? I'm pretty sure this has been suggested before so Im just putting it in general discussions so maybe the developers could see what people think. -
I think it needs more PvE elements. Infected need to be harder and more of a threat, it's great how many are spawning now but more need to spawn, I wanna see hordes of atleast 50, with some (SOME, not most) infected being able to run faster than you. If DayZ was primarily PVP it would be boring; player encounters would get repetitive, if you were suppose to get into a gunfight every second then it would lose it's charm, fights against other players are suppose to be special.
