    Bring Back Burlap Sack Masks!

Bring back the classic serial killer mask. I'm surprised there wasn't a bigger uproar about this. It was literally the only headwear I liked. Don't take this out permanently. It was a unique way to conceal ones identity. No one could identify you by facial features, by eyewear, or even race and skin color. What was wrong with the burlap mask anyways. The fact that people couldn't tell if they could just walk up in plain sight and shoot you unseen? Boo hoo, you shouldn't be walking up to someone in plain sight anyways. This is a sci-fi horror opportunity that shouldn't be wasted. Remember "The Strangers"? Anyways, the mask is something that set me back to childhood fears of scare crows coming to life like something black and horrid out of a Stephen King novel. If anything, let us have the option to cut 2 small holes for eyes, then place it over your own head Knife: Cut Eye Holes - 'allows you to use burlap sack as a novelty mask' Sowing Kit: Sow Scary Smile Sow Scary Frown Repair Burlap Sack - 'repairs all customizations back to normal sack'

Where do you find long scopes in 0.50?

    Haven't found one either

I'm old and I suck at it so I play on empty servers.

I'm so with you there OP. Military loot is for the birds my friend. Find me a light blue plaid shirt, camo ball cap, leather shoes, my starter jeans, grab a revolver or that sweet new pump action and I'm green light for survival mode. But to the point, I started out on low pop of 20 and lower. I gotta say, I think you find more people willing to kill on low pops, because it's usually all server hoppers. That being said, it's good for just relaxing and playing it out as Jeremiah Johnson. Just wondering though, as per your title, how old are you? Today was my 24th birthday.

    First DayZ artwork attempt

Made a pretty nifty, if I do say so myself, banner. It's not perfect, but then again, I super imposed the giant dayz all with ms paint, and had to hand draw in pixel by pixel the skyline and clear the borders around "DAYZ" to make it look natural. First attempt at ever making anything like this. Thoughts?

    First DayZ artwork attempt

Nice work man, looks good. IMO it looks a little small, but it's much better than ultra-large and skyline obscuring

    First DayZ artwork attempt

Ok, thanks for the input so far! Where would the DayZ logo be better placed? I'd like to see if I can make this better. Edit: Here is a higher Res base photo in 1080 like I said, should help out with the silhouette and overall quality. I'll work on this later though. Today is ma' Birthday!

    First DayZ artwork attempt

It was 1080p I noticed that when I uploaded it to imgur it blurred the picture something awful...

    AKS-74u

Wait, is it the AKM that takes 5.55mm or AK101... Either way it's the one that fits the 5.55mm rounds that are overly abundant, while the other that fits the SKS as well is almost non existent anymore. My mistake if it's not the 101, I stick to civi weapons.

Status Report - Week of 27 Oct 14

I own an 87' Ford Bronco, living in Texas. I don't think anyone could beat it at a full sprint over a mile, even over rough terrain. However since you're so happy with the delusion you've set to mind, when vehicles come out, you can walk! How about that?

    Cooked meat and healing

It's been around for a very long long time... you people must have been really skimping on meals for the past year. The color varies on how much food/water you intake. Obviously if you take in the bare minimum of food/water to begin healing it will only be Hydrated/Energized for each respective tag instead of Hydrated/Energized. To put this into action perspective, for those who are still wondering Hit "drink from pond/well" 20 times and watch the word progress from dark green hydrated to bright green hydrated. Obviously you are shooting for the more neon hydrated. Eat large quantities of whatever you can find. Probably about 14 cans/vegetables. Watch it go from dark green energized to bright green energized. The prior applies here as well. Edit: Have people really not figured this out by now... I mean... really...? No wonder everyone complains that your survivor constantly needs to be fed/watered. Y'all never start adventures on a full stomach haha.

    Bring Back Burlap Sack Masks!

I'm in USA, but, I play on whatever servers that aren't bugged/crashed And yeah, if they were added in as a unique item it would be more used, but I think people would still stick to the regular stuff more than likely. I'd be more happy with making it a craftable item just so it makes people have to get together multiple items just to make it work, and not just another pick up and go accessory.

    AKS-74u

Y'all are getting way off topic here. Thanks for starting a flame war. AK74U is inferior as a primary weapons. A 3 shot kill weapon, ammo is sparse, and magazines are harder to locate than any atm. AK101 master race. Ammo is overly abundant, magazines are bountiful and easy to locate.

    Steady aim while prone

It's tough to find a bipod without venturing inland nowadays, which is something I think is for the birds. Bipod's should give you a little recoil reduc when prone and deployed. And yeah, if you were to go prone after sprinting and brining your rifle up to aim, it wouldn't effect you as much as it does in game. For one, you're probably not going to be just holding the base of the gun like you do now. You'd steady the barrel with a closed fist below it, (like a human bipod #logic) and brace it against your shoulder, which would cause little to no movement *at least not the ridiculous amount we see now*

    New patch and pond water

There's food poisoning in the sense you eat burnt meat, bad apples, worms, and red berries. But no water born pathogens yet!

    Bring Back Burlap Sack Masks!

No, not the mod. SA .49 patch and much before that. Previously to this patch, you could place it over your own head, then relog and be able to see through it. It offered no protection, just more eye candy for your survivor. And I never saw anyone using them really, so I made it my own personal style. Bag head, plaid shirt, jeans, and boots. Didn't usually carry a backback. Was the ultimate scary look, for me. I didn't even bandit with it on. Just stalked people and stood in the open where they could see me and pointed at people. Being scared that I might do something. When people walked up and asked if I was friendly I would just stay quiet and continue pointing. It was the ultimate test of fate. Do they shoot me and be bandits themselves? Or do they let the bag head stick around in eerie silence, unbeknownst to them that I was actually helping them by killing off snipers who were scoping in on their unaware hides. This potentially game breaking bug has to be reverted! Bring back burlap sack masks!

    Bring Back Burlap Sack Masks!

So, apparently some people think a sack on your head is supposed to be racism? Don't live in the past and bring that non-sense here... That being said; This is a horror survival. People should feel free to dress, act, and do unto others how they see fit. Either way, the fact remains that the best part of the game *accessorizing* just got a little more boring without the ability to have the creepy expressionless bag head bandits!

Even just a place holder vehicle would be fine. A bicycle, the most basic form of transportation. Anything to help get from point A to B quicker. And how long is the .50 delay going to be. Anyone have a figure or ETA?

    Dont Lose Hope

Never met a good-guy random. 1st time I ever tried helping someone like back in the mod, I offered food, he says, "I can't see it, point to it on the ground for me". I oblige, "It's right there buddy"... *wump* *wump* You are unconscious. You are dead. 2nd time I was more cautious. I found someone in a building, shovel raised high in fear. I had him kneel and place his hand behind his head, calmly asking if he needed anything. The reply was thus, "I need your gear". "Not going to happen friend". "Well then, can you help me gear?" "Sure, follow me, keep that shovel on your back". Found him some gear, traveled with him for 14 minutes. Shared food, drink, and stories while looting. I find this man a .22 sport rifle. Here, I don't have round for it, but it's better than nothing if you can find rounds. "Oh yeah, I don't have rounds, let's find some." We split up, I come back to the meeting spot designated pre-hand. He shows up shortly after. "Find any?" "Nope..." "It's cool, we'll search the next town, I think it has a police station." "Oh ok. Wait, zombie, watch out behind you." As I turn with my axe being pulled out, the animation freezes me to a stand still, giving the man I trusted for half an hour to point the seemingly unloaded .22 at my head and fire a single shot, ending me. Bad news for him I got a respawn in the town right down the road and picked the police station clean. SKS, 30 rounds, and strip clip. Sure enough, he come down the road to the police station with my gear on. Revenge was sweet after I knee capped him. "Ain't this some Karma. Look who shows up after back stabbing me. Shouldn't have shot me in the back of the head, buddy. WE COULD HAVE BEEN FRIENDS!!!!". "It was an accident, I swear" he promised. The red mist took me. His blood must flow. And so it did. Player motives are opportunistic. Everyone who's not me is a potential psychopath. Stalking people to view fight or flight personalities is a surefire tactic. Lesson learned. If I do engage in contact with someone nowadays, I keep a gun pointed at the back of their skull and/or tell them I must knock them out momentarily and place the items on their person so it's less dangerous for me. If that all goes well, I usually say good luck, and I'll see you later, leaving them wondering with unanswered question like: Why wasn't I killed? Why did he leave me behind? Why don't we stick together? What caused this random act of good will? No sense in having someone tag-along with you who's motives are to flee, but it's worth helping them. #grim-dark-friendly
