    DayZ Lack of Social Realism

I'm fairly new to DayZ, and have only met 5 players so far. The first one was the second time I had ever died. I spawned in right next to a zombie, which started attacking me since I didn't see it right away because it was behind me. I sprint for maybe 10 seconds, turn around and think "Maybe I can kill it with my fists". So I start punching it, and right when I was about to give up and run, some girl walks up and starts punching the zombie. I seized the opportunity and ran for the woods. The other two friendlies I met were basically just guys who were like "Hey bro I'm friendly" and then just kept on looting the town I was in. For the guys that tried to kill me, I was looting a small house when out of nowhere some guy with a baseball bat flies in and starts attacking me. He caught me completely off guard, so I ran out of the house, took out my fire extinguisher, and started smashing him with it. But then his friend runs up with another bat, but right when I was preparing to run, a group of 5 or 6 zombies runs up and starts attacking the two guys. The zombies managed to kill the first guy's friend. I put my weapon on my back and started running again. The whole time I hear the one guy on his mic yelling "Cowaaard" and "You're gonna bleed out soon, bro". I turned around, pulled out my fire extinguisher, and killed the first guy. I ran into a house, and right when I was making rags, I bled out. Even though I died, I was happy I at least managed to take them out, especially since I had no previous PvP experience with this game.

    Basic Hygiene

As long as it didn't turn into an annoying "Darn, it's been 5 minutes, gotta brush my teeth again" type thing, it could be an interesting feature.

    thoughts/discussion on NPC's

I would absolutely hate it if NPC's were added. The thing is, real players are unpredictable. They could do a whole number of things. NPC's on the other hand, only do what they were programmed to do. I know that certain NPC's would do different things, but it kinda just throws the whole point of the game out the window. This game is supposed to be played with real people, not some computerized person who only says what his programmer tells him to say. I know, real people would be in the game too, but it just wouldn't feel the same to talk to an NPC.

    Help, I have no idea......

Usually the best thing to do is do a quick sweep in nearby buildings for food and water, and a weapon if you can find one. After that, head inland. Most bandits tend to stick to the coast to hunt new spawns. And yes, you getting killed from a guy who probably had no reason to kill you is unfortunately much more common than I'd like it to be. I'm fine with people doing that, but I'd like it if more people did things like rob people, rather than just shoot everyone they see like they do in COD. In terms of direction once you've spawned, there's really no right or wrong way to go. It's more a case of how much gear you have, how much experience with PvP you have, and if you're willing to run into quite a bit of trouble from bandits. Usually the smartest thing for a new spawn to do is avoid the coast as much as possible.

    Gas station lurker

You could have just axed him when he was putting the clothes on, or when he was distracted by the other guy. But meh, everyone does their own thing. It sucks that you lost all that gear though.

The game DayZ is striving to be...

This is just me, but I would way rather have trades be risky rather than have the game hold my hand. If I happen to get shot in the face when I'm in the middle of a trade, hey, that's DayZ for you. It doesn't always go your way. I also am not a big fan of the NPC idea. Sure, that's in a lot of other games, but I'd rather help a real person, not some NPC. The fact that there are only real players is part of what makes DayZ the game that it is. NPC's only do what they were programmed to do. Humans could do anything. You could help a guy, turn your back on him, and end up with two bullets in your legs and the guy robbing you of all your gear and leaving you to die. Or he could tag along and maybe save your life later on. But an NPC wouldn't do those things. You'd just end up with a few points and no sense of accomplishment. It's all part of the end of the world scenario. Anything could happen, but that would not happen with an NPC.
