Cannibalism - Lets make it USEFUL

Banditry and people getting shot is already rampant. I don't think we should make it worse.

The People of DayZ (What Makes You Special?)

Name: Kirby12352. Lone Wolf. I usually survive by myself, unless I happen to find a friendly group, in which case I roll with them until I'm done playing or I get shot or split up from the group somehow. I usually stick to the woods when traveling. I don't tend to use roads, especially on the coast. I find high loot locations, watch them from afar for a while to see if I can see anyone, and then I sneak into the location, loot the buildings that have the best loot, and get out of there. I don't KOS. Usually when I see someone, I hide and try to judge their intentions. I usually never make contact if they have a weapon out or are heavily geared. If I do talk to someone, it's usually from somewhere that they can't see me. If I have someone suddenly run up to me with a weapon out, I shoot them. I'll give new spawns supplies, but never weapons.

    Cannibals Recognition Suggestion

I don't really support this. If I wanted to be a cannibal in this game, I'd want to do it with some secrecy, not have blood splattered all over my clothes. I can see maybe the blood on the face being better cause you could just cover that up with a mask, most likely.
  4. I'm not really sure what I'd do, but if I somehow found out he was a cannibal, I'd have a really bad distrust of him at first.

    Yelling In DayZ

Oh okay lol I totally misread that.

    Water and food

He just says he wants the process of starvation and dehydration to be slowed down, not to completely remove it. Take a closer look at what you're reading before you bash the guy and tell him his opinion is invalid.

    Water and food

Most video games are sped up to increase the challenge of it. If it were the same thing as it is irl where I could last a whole bunch of hours before I even got hungry, the game would have basically no challenge in that regard. Not everyone wants to play for 6 hours and then eat 1 can of beans and be good to go for another 6 hours. This is talking about even feeling slightly HUNGRY, by the way. Don't even make me talk about the time it takes to actually starve. I don't really find it that difficult to find food. If you're looting the coast for food, you won't find much. Head inland.

    Here's a glitch I can get behind

I've seen this a few times, it's pretty helpful when you have nothing. The only thing about it that annoys me is not the bug itself, but the people who always whine about it breaking "immersion". Just think of it as an abandoned base if it matters that much.

    No food and drink

If you're looting near the coast, you probably won't find much food cause it was probably already grabbed by new spawns or any people who happened to be on the coast. If you head inland you'll probably have better luck.

    Yelling In DayZ

It would be scary all right, but only because they'd be wondering why the heck someone was literally screaming while playing a video game.

    Is It Possible?

I would only support this if tanks were extremely rare. As in, hardly any chance of finding one at any given time.
  12. If it bothers you that much, turn down your volume when you eat something.

    Doing "the spin"

I had this happen once, I was standing in a shed when suddenly my guy started spinning around for no apparent reason. Then some other guy ran into the shed and killed me, which was honestly just a good thing cause I couldn't figure out how to get it to stop.

To The Man I Killed In Vybor....

Never trust anyone in cities. People in small towns and the countryside are sometimes more friendly, but people in cities usually always just want to put a bullet in your head. Whenever I see someone in a city, I completely book it and avoid the person. If they raise their weapon at me, they'll end up shot in the face.

    How was your Day(Z)?

Ran northwest from Elektro, looted a military base, reached the end of the map. I then walked south toward the coast. I looted a few gas stations and small towns cause I was down to my last few cans of food. I came out of a hotel and see a guy with decent gear running around the side of a building. I sprinted for the woods, managed to not alert him of my presence, and ran down the coast. Then I see a figure in the woods which I thought at first was a zombie. Then I see it lean left and right, so I sprinted behind a tree and called out friendly. The guy puts his hands up and types "Hi, what's up?" and I said "Not much." Then we basically just went our separate ways. I then walked to the base of a tree and logged out.
  16. Kirby12352

Uh, There Were A LOT Of Zombies Last Night

I had to fight off a group of about 5 when I was in Elektro. There would have been more but I tend to take the sneaky ninja approach and sneak up on them and take them out one by one, so I had cleared about half the zombies in the city by that point and hadn't been detected by more than one zombie at a time yet. But I had two notice me, so I had to stand up and kill them both not quite so sneakily, so that alerted the rest of them.

So where dou you hang out in Chernarus?

I typically move around in the north-west. I don't usually stay in one city or other location for very long because from what I've found, that's a good way to get shot. Better to just loot the town and move on.
  18. I have only ever experienced an FPS drop once, and that lasted for maybe 5 seconds. I'm not sure what causes so many other people to have issues with FPS. Cities are no problem for my computer, and it's the same with the countryside.

    Messy but has potential

Finding military gear is already extremely easy. Same with food and other supplies. I doubt in a real life zombie apocalypse I'd start with next to nothing and then suddenly be completely decked out on military gear with enough food and water to last me weeks without even going into a town for more supplies. I don't think loot being "too hard" to get is really an issue. The zombies running through floors will be fixed with time. Spawning next to zombies just makes the game a bit more challenging IMO. And in a real life situation, you wouldn't normally be able to get from town to town on foot so quickly. And that will become even easier when they add the first vehicle in the near future.

    "Aging" concept

I'm pretty sure that unless your character was obese from the start, it'd be pretty hard to gain enough weight to slow you down. Unless you had like 130 cans of beans hidden somewhere. But the apocalypse is a pretty hard place to gain enough weight to have to go on a diet sometimes. You can't exactly go to McDonalds and eat 8 doughnuts on top of it.
  21. Kirby12352

Where to loot (if there is any point?)

Valuable buildings are usually ones that are pretty big. You'll learn eventually which ones are better than others. Run right past the first few buildings you see. Those ones are always already looted by new spawns. Head inland, cause that's where you'll find the good loot. I wouldn't bother using the online map. It's more entertaining to find locations just by exploring.

What can i do if i dont trust anybody?

I have no issue with COD, other than I find it a bit repetitive, but that's just my personal opinion. It's just normally used as the game to describe that type of game. Sure, it's perfectly valid to use games like Halo or Team Fortress 2, but COD is the most widely used example. Besides, I wasn't saying anything bad about it (Although I don't see why it'd be wrong of me to do that), I was just saying some people treat DayZ like it's COD where there's not really any player interaction and there's not much to it aside from shooting people. People who don't think twice about saying that aren't bad people for not liking COD or something though.
  23. Kirby12352

What can i do if i dont trust anybody?

It's simply an expression used to describe what people do in this game. Would you prefer I called it a Halo death match or something?
  24. Kirby12352

    New Zombie Fail

Honestly people will be too busy shooting this zombie in the face to notice that he has twin skinned knees lol. Besides, the game isn't a finished product.

What can i do if i dont trust anybody?

I don't really understand why people think the only way to entertain themselves after gearing up is KOSing. To be honest, player interaction is a lot more entertaining than sniping someone in the head who didn't even see them. And if people are so afraid of player interaction that they just shoot everybody, they're honestly missing out on half of what DayZ is, or at least is supposed to be. A successful interaction with another player is a lot more satisfying than putting a bullet in someone's head. That's just how it is for me anyway. If people are entertained by treating the game like a COD deathmatch and never talk to a single player aside from their friends, hey, that's their choice.
