Hands up if the game is too Easy.

The game is overly difficult if you don't understand how to abuse the current mechanics of the game, but once you do it becomes insanely easy. There's nothing challenging about abusing poor LOS mechanics to perform an insta escape while getting free reign to loot literally every building in the game while only having to worry about other players/potential bandits.
  2. Because it takes Bandit's focus off of killing everyone they see and on surviving. Normal every day people also wouldn't be walking around in the Zed apocalypse with some sort of protection and food and water. And yet right now, you spawn with no protection, no food and water, yet somehow have medical supplies. Pretty unrealistic if you ask me.

    Hotfix Build 1.7.1.1 Rolling Update

Guns, ammo, etc. are far too common in residential/cities/etc. while food, tools, and other supplies are basically non existent. Not sure if this is intended or a bug, but it's lead to a huge increase in deathmatching. Zombie vision still seems abit too far, but it's much more manageable now. Now at least sneaking is some sort of an option as long as you plan your approach.
  4. "Realistic "Zombies" with custom animations - These once human creatures will act and behave as if they have a heighten sense of hearing and smell but less sight, on top of that they use motion captured animations such as walking and eating from your unconscious body. If you look into any built up area you'll see them walking around waiting for their next victim which dares to venture in." - dayzmod.com I understand the need to make it harder to sneak by zombies, but 1.7.1 before the hotfix was absolutely atrocious and everyone here knows it. People saying that they could sneak past Zombies were straight up lying. Period. Some of the top leaders on the leader board right now who generally are extremely good at staying out of sight, sneaking around, etc. gave up and just simply abused the glitchy LOS mechanics, or just kited all the Zombies into a damn hallway and gunned them all down. Read. Before the hotfix, Zeds were unmangable in the open field. If you were caught (of which it was very easy to occur even when proned because of the secret nerf in 1.7.1 before the hotfix) you got absolutely murdered every single time. After the hotfix, the Zeds are much more managable now, and proper timing, tactics, and just smart play are rewarded. Pre-hotfix, this was not the case, and everyone and their mother knew it.

You are listening to the wrong people Rocket.

So give feedback! Why all this negativity towards the people who like the broken elements? That was the whole point of my post above, the only one who can determine weather or not something is working as intended, is the one who created it. All we can do is report our observations. Some of you people need to stop with the "I'm right, you're wrong!" attitude. We all have opinions, throw them out there, fucking own them, & respect the right of others to disagree. That's life. I'm sick of all this discrimination.. carebare, fanboy, hardcore, bandit, survivor, rocket, we're all just people with a million different thoughts and opinions, and feelings. Just because someone has an opinion on one issue...... bah fuckit. It's like an infection spreading through this forum. I think I've been bitten. YOUR ALL WRONG IM RITE! My hardcore survivor carebare utopia is teh only wai! That's the fucking point. Many of us were merely pointing out that it seemed like the Zombie vision was way off, and that their ability to detect you at all times was absolutely ridiculous. It got to the point that many of the players that "reached" end game who are actually skilled didn't even BOTHER to sneak. When a gameplay mechanic is that broken, you KNOW something is wrong. And yet you have fanboys on here flaming everyone left and right that is merely pointing out that the "new" Zombie vision seemed to be way over the top, especially towards new players who have to deal with the fact that they spawn with no weapons now. They merely point out "LOL U SUCK FUCKING SCRUB GO TO HELL CAREBEAR LULULULULULULUL" when I know for a fact that these are the same people who camp the coastline and would likely rage if the reverse was being done to them.
  6. You're better off finding a shit load of ammunition for both your primary/secondary and just aggroing everything in sight into a small corridor and just blasting everything down. It's quicker and more efficient, although likely to attract the attention of everyone in the vicinity. Better than starving to death though if you can't find the proper hunting tools.

    Advice for 1.7.1

Grab water canteens, a hunting knife, an axe, and matches as soon as possible. These are infinitely more important than the other tools. Make sure to pick up a primary and a sidearm while you're in town. Stay outside of the southern cities and the southern coast. With the recent changes, bandits are coming out of the woodworks to simply kill you for giggles. Don't believe what the supposed "hardcore" players are telling you, bandits do not run out of food or water. They know the spots where animals spawn along with the usual water filling spots.
  8. 1) Spawning with no weapons would have been a great idea...... against the old Zombies. The current Zombies are already hard enough to deal with decked out in military gear along with a band of friends with medical supplies to ensure you don't die, let alone some new kid on the block that's barely played the game and will get flat out murdered over and over again. Sure you can say run, utilize the ability to lose Zombies now, etc. but anyone who's actually played will straight up tell you that's literally impossible every single time. At some point you will get discovered, and you will get cornered. You should have SOME way to defend yourself, whether it's melee or anything. It's unrealistic to believe that you would really be walking around in the Zombie Apocalypse with no way to defend yourself. Until the implentation of some sort of a melee system, the Makarov is going to have to suffice right now, especially if everyone wants to keep the current Zombies. a) Just a side point, but bandits now have complete free reign of towns, beaches, etc. to the point it's stupid. At least you had to be somewhat wary and somewhat stealthy as a bandit before. Now you can literally roam the beaches of the Southern Coast, unload freely on people that are completely defenseless. Bandits that are particularly geared from head to toe with plenty of ammunition will have not trouble camping the Southern Cities and just simply massacring everyone that tries to get through. 2) Spawn rates are way too high. I know this is a bug and it will be hotfixed, but it's pretty ridiculous right now, particularly around high population areas like deer stands. 3) Current Zombies have pretty ridiculous sight range. By ridiculous sight range, I mean.... like.... literally ridiculous sight range. Almost borderline unrealistic. By that, I mean a normal human being wouldn't be able to tell if that's a real fucking human being from that distance, and yet the Zombie can tell exactly what you are from ridiculous distances, and simply zones in on you and sprints at Usanin Bolt speeds. I like the LOS, but if you're going to utilize Usanin Bolt speeds on zombies, you're going to have to tone down their LOS range. Yes, towns should be hard to loot in, but it's slightly too ridiculous when a group of zombies can see you a miles a way off, while you also being completely defenseless if you are new/just died recently. TBH, even with Makarov's from the start, I'm pretty sure people would be dying left and right with the new Zombies. It's abit overkill to implement both the new "improved" Zombies along with taking away a player's only early game defense.
  9. If you seriously think that people don't illegally handguns/shotguns/rifles/etc. in Eastern Europe I don't know what to tell you. The only people who survive far enough in a Zombie/Mass Infection Apocalypse would have either had a gun + survival skills, or would have been smart enough to pick one up at some point.

And that would add? Oh right' date=' it would bring back all the cod kiddies who think that because you spawn with a gun in your hand its your typical FPS. I literally see no cons regarding the absence of a starting weapon, none, nada. Meanwhile I see a tons of pros. Stop fucking acting like all weapons were suddenly removed. It took me 5-10 minutes to find my first gun after every time i died since the new patch. You are defenseless for maximum 20 minutes and in those early moments, usually nothing happens. And when something does happen, like finding another survivor, you can safely team up now and don't tell me you can't because I grouped up with more survivors since the new patch than ever before. Removing starting weapons was the best thing rocket could've done. It truly feels like a survival-simulator now as opposed to just a little mod for arma2. [/quote'] No, it just means a free pass for Bandits to use their handgun ammunition instead of their Sniper Rifle.

You cannot prone past Zombies. You're dumb as fuck. If there's 6+ Zombies in the area, you will aggro no matter what you do. Their super vision along with super view direction along with the previously "unknown" nerf to proning caused them to aggro no matter what the hell you were doing. Yet there are plenty of people, myself included, who are able to sneak past the zombies. You, sir, just plain suck You're bullshitting because you obviously haven't played the game. Anyone who has ACTUALLY played the game knows unless you utilize a distraction to drag Zombies way off the fucking building, you're not getting in without aggro. Period. You're better off running past the Zeds, into the building, doing a quick 15 second looting, while running out the back door or back outside, while glitching the Zeds LOS with another building/wall/hill/etc. Rocket is hotfixing alot of the problems with the Zed behavior right now, and for good reason. The people like you who said "you just suck, you're not hardcore, you're a CoD player, etc." are the people who kill great games like this. The current 1.71 "unhotfixed" behavior is completely illogical. Period.

You're right, Rocket didn't intend Infected to have 360 degrees of vision while also being able to see you coming from 200+ meters.

The LOS/Visual mechanics are not working as intended, as evidenced by the fact that Rocket has to roll back the changes while making tweaks to kneel walking.

actually, the biggest problem WoW had is that it started listening to the hardcore raid fans and suddenly it became a game about reaching max level and raiding bosses. When WoW first came out, it was a pretty fresh game all the way up to level 60...however now none of that is fresh, everything they add in is just as stale, and the only thing to do is raid high level instances for hours on end. The casuals did ruin some aspects of it. Cataclysm and Mysts of Pandera see a lot of the talent trees being shredded away. That being said, the complaint about the difficulty around zombies now isn't that they were made too difficult. A lot of us wanted them to be more difficult so that bandits had to work for their loot. the problem is now however that the vision isn't working as intended and is over sensitive...hence it's being rolled back. tl;dr: It's not that it's too hard, it's just not working as intended. The largest problem with this patch for me happens to be the lack of a gun. I know the internet, and the internet likes to grief, and nothing says free griefing like having players be unable to defend themselves. So proving me right about you does what exactly? Exactly, at least before you MIGHT get lucky and sneak up on the guy with a Makarov and kill him, or even a few shots from a distance might actually hit him and force him to back off. Right now though, you can literally run onto the coast and just gun people down left and right. And it seems Rocket understands that the current Zombie behavior is not working as intended, and is making fixes to try and make it more realistic and in tune with the lore behind Infected/Zombies.
  15. Between the secret nerfing of prone and the ridiculous zombie super view directions being reverted, along with some tweaking on kneel walking values, I think DayZ will be heading in a more realistic and logical direction. I think everyone including Rocket knew that the current 1.71 is not even realistic at all; you're better off literally running into buildings, quickly picking up loot, and getting out the back door to glitch LOS on Zombies then actually utilizing a careful and tactical approach. I have no qualms about the removal of the Makarov early on as long as the tweaks make sense. Sure, there will be a heavy increase of bandit activity along the coast, but there's nothing Rocket can do about that other than arming survivors with Rifles of their own to compete against Bandits (which would only be a bad thing), but at least survivors will now at least have a chance against the Zeds with careful planning. Right now as it stands under the CURRENT 1.71, it's absolutely idiotic trying to sneak into the town, as your better off making as much noise as possible while just trying to avoid everything.

    Pending Hotfix: Build 1.7.1.1

I knew there was something up when Zombies were literally seeing me everywhere no matter what I did. Combination of nerf on prone, Zombie "eyes" moving around, etc.
