Online Debate: What is the Best PvP Gun in DayZ?
allbusiness replied to DayZPvP.com's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Overall it's the DMR. DayZ PvP is all about getting the jump on your opponent, and the DMR is simply hands down the best all around gun in the game. It's easy to aim without a crosshair for most veteran competitive CS players, and the DMR is almost unrivaled in terms of power, number of rounds, accuracy, range, utility, etc. AS50 is only better during the day, at night time the lack of night vision really hurts the AS50 big time. -
DayZ so F***ing Hacked I can't play.
allbusiness replied to She'llberight's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
It is when the bypass method blocks server admins from seeing them execute most of the scripts. We've had issues over on the TL server with hackers before, and the admins have triple checked logs every time. Apparently whatever it is, they cannot see the scripts executing. -
A-10 Thunderbolt crashed in woods near coast

It's the result of a shitty engine that has tons of loopholes and a terrible anti-cheat client, along with some sprinkling of ineptitude by server owners. -
Yogscast spawned weapons and Admin Help?
allbusiness replied to TiredEthan's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Great rule; especially considering non-hive servers have better security than the current main hive servers do. -
Stop complaining about 'hackers'

Why would anyone ignore the problem? You do understand that virtually every single major group on every server has someone that cheats correct? The usage of ESP is rampant among many "top" level clans that have hoarded vehicles, equipment, etc. and people also are duping excessively on top of the ESP, which results in a stranglehold on the server. I know this because I have been prefired upon by MANY supposedly "top" level clans. I have seen camps with virtually every vehicle in the game, with literally 40+ tents, etc. Now I know occasionally one or two groups may actually have the time to get all of these things without dying. However, if you're telling me every major group has something like this.... 8+ Vehicles 40+ Tents Various Helicopter Loot Weapons such as 10+ AS50s, 15+ Bizon SMGs, 15+ L85s, etc. Various High Level Military Grade Loot such as SD M4A1, M4/M16 with GL, DMRs, etc. etc. Truckload of Grenades/Antibiotics/Satchel Charges etc. You have got to be fucking kidding me. I was in fact a part of a group, and in fact one of the admins was also in the group. And in that group, the admin used ESP, and allowed others to utilize ESP as long as they were in the camp's group. It was just hilarious seeing this happen. I got sick of it and left, moved to another server, joined up with another group and guess what.... same thing. I decided to start playing on my own, and I would encounter various groups on other servers along the North/West edges of the map, and I would get immediately prefired on in the most random spots ever, along with the most ridiculous shit I've ever seen before (such as completely random movements, tracking of me from 600m out, etc.) It's not cool at all; most major groups did not obtain their equipment legitimately at all. I've known many administrators who overlook the whole thing just because they are in the group. It is absolutely hilarious the amount of hacking that is going on, because I can guarantee you that out of 10 groups, 7 of them contain a hacker of some sort, whether he uses scripts, ESP, or whatever. The game is quickly becoming dumb because of this nonsense, and it's actually making me feel the necessity to hack just to be able to compete against other groups. That's how fucking bad it is. The "endgame" is about PvP late game while trying to control resources on the map. That's what makes DayZ "endgame" great. You're fighting for control over resources, and if you have multiple groups doing it and the resources are relatively even, it's alot of fun. That is very rare that happens though, because usually one asshole group tends to cheat, which results in the other group cheating, and then hilarity ensues where the group that wins is usually the one with the administrator that just kicks/bans the other group off the server. People really need to open their eyes. Scripting hackers who do hilarious shit like Invincible Axe Murderer with music blaring, or lame A-10/Helicopter attacks on towns, All kills on servers, etc. are not the issue. Those guys are very rare, as they are so blatant it is easy to catch them a vast majority of the time. The most rampant amount of hacking that is going on are the hackers that pretend to play legitimate, and a vast majority of them are in the "top" groups in DayZ that hoard multiple vehicles/weapons/dupe weapons/etc. and have insane PvP stats (they never die since they always know where you are). -
PLS Rocket and BIS STOP IT RIGHT NOW - IT IS FAKIN RETARDED !!! READ ALL

So you're playing a video game while half the planet is short on food and water. Mmmm.... sound logic. -
I mean... I'm against hacking and all.... but really it was pretty funny. At least the guy didn't all kill the server rofl.

Um, really? One, you didn't post any proof, and your post is just full of rage. Two, anyone can find tents especially if you are using a hotspot that most people know about. Alot of people tend to use the West side of the map, as those roads run out all the way to the edge of the map, allowing you to easily run your off map vehicle to an off map location. Grozovy Pass and the road past Kamenka to the West are both highly used by plenty of "new" players to DayZ. Other hotspots are up North along the "offmap" Mountains where plenty of people put tents, vehicles, etc. that stick out like the broadside of a barn. Not to mention, if you weren't conspicuous with your vehicle movement or player movement, anyone that is highly geared along the coast or up North around the edges of the map WILL follow you. If you used any of the highways, especially down South you were just asking for trouble. Yes, hackers do exist, but don't blame everything on hackers. If you were flushed from your spot for instance, it's VERY easy for anyone to track you, especially if they have an ATV or some sort of fast vehicle like a Motorcycle.

Do not ever go towards far North past the airfields. Try and stay in the mid central towns that are less populated. The Northern Edge of the maps is usually the areas where most people hide their vehicles/tents, which also means they will likely have Sentries guarding their tents/vehicles during peak hours, which means that they will come geared to the teeth.

To everyone that is a camper on Stary Sobor 24/7 with CZ
allbusiness replied to barros1711's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Berezino tents is a bad idea. Most lone wolf players camp out there for their weapons and will instantly kill you the second they see you, and the tents are completely exposed on all sides unlike Stary where there are only a few good sniping spots. -
Just like to add that I have also spawned in the debug zone. Seems like bug hasn't been fixed.

This is a serious thread about why players shoot on sight. I will detail my reasoning and why players will shoot on sight immediately. 1) First and foremost, the reason why shoot on sight occurs is because of the fact that Rocket has made it extremely annoying for anyone to regear themselves from the start. It was already bad enough that people lost their gear and had to only start with a Makarov and such, but now with the lack of starting gear, players shoot on sight repeatedly because they fear losing all of their hard earned gear because some asshole snuck up on them with a Winchester, an Enfield, etc. and got free gear. If Rocket made it less punishing for players to restart, it wouldn't be so bad. For experienced players, this isn't such a big deal. However, for players that are not as experienced as veteran players, this leads to more shooting on sight than ever before. No one wants to lose their gear; no one wants to start off with absolutely nothing again. This has resulted in tons of kill or be killed, because to increase your chances of survival, you need as much gear as possible. For a player like me, it isn't such a big deal to regear myself. However, it is blatantly obvious that players who aren't experienced as me are going to want hold on to their gear for dear life, and will simply kill any strangers that they do not trust in a game like DayZ. 2) Second, people who DC in PvP are a huge reason why people shoot on sight. It's annoying, it's stupid, and it's dumb. PvP is a part of the game, and if you can't handle it play another game. It's stupid when you're in a firefight and someone simply DCs. This has lead to more snipe camping and more shooting on sight in order to obtain the gear that you rightly deserve (yes, if a bandit catches you with your pants on the ground and corners you, and has you dead to rights, he deserves your gear). Since you can't tactically kill anyone with a damn assault rifle anymore (they are near useless since most people will just simply DC denying you of any loot, as there's a bug where if they DC right as they die, you don't get the loot), you are forced to utilize Sniper Rifles for the most part for one shot kills, particularly high powered rifles such as the DMR, the AS50, SVD, etc. which can kill in one shot if you either headshot or hit in the chest. People would actually rob people if it was possible, but most people will instantly DC at the sense of any danger, which results in more shoot the second I see you; most bandits would likely not kill you if they could avoid it, however it has become absolutely stupid that people DC/Reconnect into better positions/etc. etc. 3) Not enough tools for people to form organizations that are friendly. There is no "safe" trading menu for example, and trading is one of the reasons why societies and such occur. Without these tools (real "safe" zones that can be CREATED by players, CB radios, etc.) there is simply going to be rampant banditry. Without the ability to establish a real base (tents do not count, as tents are easily looted and are hard to defend), no one can really create safe zones for new players. The lack of tools prevents this. This leads me to my fourth point. These are really the three big reasons why people shoot on sight. I believe if reasons 1 and 2 were addressed, you would likely see alot less shooting on sight. The removal of side chat has also encouraged quite abit more shooting on sight, but I believe that 1 and 2 are much bigger reasons. There's a reason why there was a significant increase in crying, it's because most people are forced to utilize Sniper Rifles now in order to get their kills rather than even Assault Rifles. Not just that, it's a huge annoyance that you start off with nothing, as it completely removes stealth as a method of entering buildings. You're better off straight running through the middle of fucking town to regear rather than actually utilizing some form of stealth.

Unless we get flags/effects for murder, this game will just be Deathmatch.
allbusiness replied to PinkTaco24's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Yes because we certainly need the old Zombies of the broken patches where they'd 1 shot you under 10k health, break your legs at 85% rates, had super man x-ray vision, along with the ability to hear a country mile away. Oh, did I also mention that they also spawned at ridiculous rates too? No matter how you spin it, DayZ is about player interaction. Period. Zombies are there merely as a tool to facilitate that player interaction. -

allbusiness replied to PinkTaco24's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Wrong. You'd be one of the first to die if you seriously think Zombies are the greatest threat. Zombies/Infected are the greatest threat in NUMBERS, but people fail to realize that for thousands of years the human has been the top predator of the whole fucking world for a damn reason. It's because humans have the intelligence to utilize tools, strategy, etc. to outwit their enemies, including other humans. Ultimately, humans WILL be your greatest enemy, period, because no matter how strong a Zombie/Infected is, it still has the intelligence level of an animal. Exactly, it is not that Rocket doesn't understand that Bandits are a problem, it is that people keep forgetting that the GAME IS IN ALPHA. The tools for a player to create a sort of "safe zone" are not there yet, and will likely not be there until a standalone version is released. I think alot of people forget that when they are whining about bandits. Not just that, but it's not even like bandits are invincible. Most bandits are dumb and camp in very obvious sniping positions such as the large hill nearby Elektro that overlooks most of the city, including the Northern Firehouse and Southern Firehouse. -

Another clueless person. People banded together because the threat of other people killing them and taking their stuff was really high. In order to maintain order, they eventually formed what is known today as society. And in those societies, are governing structures. Try and pick up a basic philosophy book before spouting off nonsense. People killing each other after order in a society has broken down is pretty common. People reform society eventually, but it takes time. The issue is that Rocket hasn't provided us enough tools in order for us to establish said societies, so it's very difficult for even the most organized of clans to form safe zones for new players, or to ward off the occasional bandit on the coast line.
