Easiest way to fix the sniper problem is to remove scoped rifles from the game ..... Simple :P -

What they say IS true ......... It was the dark experiments with radio transmission carried out on Green Mountain that started it all. Trying to contact the dead, trying to reach the other side. They say they communicated with someone or something and they say it has never left !

the first time I entered a church I looked for a rope so I could ring the bell ............. :lol:

Me and some mates were on top of the apartment building roof in Berez. It over looks the super market and the barns are on the hill to the south east, players leaving the barns must cross an open field to get to the market. We spotted two players and with our Cz totally missed. Credit to those players, they toughed it out , cleverly split up, found cover and survived. We managed to lure all the Z to our location (CZ very loud) and became preoccupied so we could not continue the hunt.

It is too easy to gear up to the max in DayZ. Not speaking on behalf of anyone else but myself,I think the following changes should occur. Make zombies tougher so you need lots of ammo to deal with them. Decrease loot by at least half so it takes longer than 1 hours play to get FULLY equipped. Make starvation a real threat so just finding a meal is the priority over finding a helicopter. There should be plenty of crappy cars around BUT a shortage of fuel. Remove military grade sniper rifles to do away with gutless 'sniper bandits'. Introduce batteries so GPS, NVG, torches etc have a life span. These are just a few ideas that I think can help drive the survival aspect of the game and prevent boredom which leads to death match. -
Why not just play Arma 2 :P

Hi Rocket Played for most of last night with my regular group of friends. Here are our observations; Overall a great patch up. Zombies see and hear better, they even run right at you. AWESOME !!! I don't know if it was intentional but the combination of update and new Beta that nerfed the common guns has made the zombies a real threat again, Huzza ! All my group was bitching about ammo shortage and we spent a lot of time scavaging for ammo and getting back into the survival aspect of the game. So much better than jogging around with FULL packs stuffed with everything. [i still think that food and drink needs to be a lot more hard to come by, I felt that too about ammo, but the beta fixed that now because you need to use more ammo to take anything down.] Somehow we logged into a server that, after a short time was only populated by our group ! This gave us a chance to see the Zombie spawning mechanic in action, and it was working very well. We headed off to Stary (naturally) and as soon as we got within 500 metre we experienced artifacting. We all then changed our video setting back to default and the problem was solved. The server eventually kicked us and then we experienced the only bad part of the night, trying to find the same server. Some of us could see a server on the list while the other could not, using the Dayz Commander we eventually found a mutual server, but after 15+ minutes of trawling. Other observations; Animals working perfectly. I found a camo suit at a chopper crash and when I put it on it reset my kill stats back to 0 in the debug monitor. Keep up the good work mate. :thumbsup:

Realistic weapon drops and amounts! Hunting rifles should be more common than AKs!

Seems to me all 90% of players get fully stocked in an hour or less. There is way too much loot of everything. Who here has ever died of thirst or hunger? Reduce all loot by half and remove all scopes. -
OR .... server hop at a chopper crash until you get some ridiculous sniper rifle; then hide on a rooftop and murder any player unlucky enough to get within 1000m of you ........ :rolleyes:

Question; do loot spawn locations = zombie spawn locations. I.O.W, if a town only has a few loot spots it would have low zombie numbers and inversely if a town had many loot spots it would have a high zombie population ?
