A week ago I would have said no. I even turned down an L85 from a friend because it had been duped in a tent. Then today, I and everybody else on the server I was on, had all of our gear replaced. I lost my backpack (with an AS50 in it), my M9SD was replaced with a makarov SD, and my L85 was replaced with a KSVK. It took countless hours searching fields for choppers to get the gear I had, with many a hairy experience lived though - even managing to get back to my dead body and get my gear back on one occasion after being hack-killed. So you know what I'm going to do? I'm going to use that KSVK until I get one of my teammates to dupe their AS50 and L85 for me. I've berated people for duping stuff before and loathe hackers, but this latest incident was the proverbial straw that broke my resolve. Until they get this crap under control, any legitimate work put in finding great loot is utterly pointless, because there's a good chance you'll lose it on the whim of a hacker.

L85 was replaced with a KSVK, all utilities filled up including a radio (though I had everything except for the radio). M9SD was replaced with a makarov SD. Backpack vanished. Given a ghillie in my gear. Already had NVGs and rangefinder so I don't know if they were given to all players as well. A friend was quick enough to ctrl+alt+del and managed to avoid having his gear messed with. I aborted instead, and after going into another server realised the setup was obviously saved to the hive.

I'm not ok with losing such and such, and didn't say I was. I said "thems the breaks" the same as I'd say it after being diagnosed with cancer of the balls. It's resignation and an acknowledgement of the state of the game as it is - not an indignant bitch and whine like so many others partake in, and yet you respond with unecessary hostility and presume to know my playstyle. I bought Arma 2 specifically for this mod (like so many others) and have done my fair share of "testing", but lately I've gotten into a comfortable role that for the moment, isn't feasible. I don't "snipe newbs" (much), I hunt for choppers with some buds to get my team outfitted, and for the thrill of finding mad loot. Between a few of us, we've found over 40 choppers to date. I enjoy traversing the countryside, living off the land, moonlit walks, a nice glass of single malt, and occasionally straying into the airfield to hunt high value targets. We also regularly introduce new players and help them get outfitted and learn the ropes. At any rate, you didn't need to, but you chose to level criticism where it really wasn't deserved. Give yourself a pat on the back.

Can confirm that ghillie or camo is not spawning in 1.7.2.3 - beta 94876. A friend had one in his inventory and after putting it on after updating to 1.7.2.3 - beta 94876, he has since logged back in and still has the ghillie, but they are most definately not spawning. Can confirm that L85s (possibly other primary weapons?) have at least a good chance of disappearing from your gear when logging in. A friend and I had both logged in on 1.7.2.3 - beta 94876 with our L85s, and logged into a couple of other servers with the weapons still equipped. Then at different times and on different servers, both of us logged in with the animation showing the character pulling out the pistol, and the L85s gone from our gear. Both of our AS50s were still in our backpacks. I would recommend that anybody who has an L85 put it in a backpack before logging out, to see if the issue is primarily just affecting that weapon. Kind of sucks to lose weapons you spent countless hours searching for, but thems the breaks when you're a tester in alpha, I guess. Very much hoping the issue is resolved and that they aren't thinking about removing the weapon entirely. Would be a major bummer to lose the AS50 as well. I might hold off on "testing" for now until at least ghillies are reincorporated.

Dead god people, if you're going to use this thread as a bug report thread, which you shouldn't be doing, tell us which freaking beta and DayZ version you are running. Your complaints are literally of zero value unless we know which versions you are running.

This is not a suggestions thread. It boggles my mind when I read one of you babygamers whining about OP this and OP that. Can you actually provide any reasonable justification as to why the gun should be removed? And I'm not talking about "balance" and it being OP, because if you want finely balanced guns to the point where they're all virtually interchangeable and give no real reward or feeling of weapon superiority - resulting in the same mediocre and boring weapon rollout of every other shooter - go play BF3 or MW3. I hope you idiots are in the minority. It'd be a massive shame if such a boss weapon was removed.

Don't think I'll log in until the equipment issue is sorted. A player DB wipe would also suck, but thems the breaks, and I appreciate the work the devs are putting in, and the direction the game has headed thus far. Looking forward to some more unpredictability with the bear traps as well. Could be lulzy. To the people saying crap like "the L85 is OP and doesn't belong in the game" - when I first got killed by a dude with an L85 (a friend killed the guy straight after), my first thought wasn't "Omg, that makes me mad, they should get rid of that gun". My first thought was "Damn. Wait, that shit has thermal?! Oh I gotta get me one of those". That should be the attitude adopted by anybody who really gets this game. If you want finely balanced mediocrity, go play BF3. One of the most rewarding things in the game for us is finding ridiculous weapons after countless hours searching fields or hunting high value targets, then living off the land and occasionally straying into dangerous territory with our boss kits. The day that weapons like the L85 are removed to appease whiny and inept players, will be a sad day for Chernarus.

Does anybody know that if you go in the canada 2, tx6 or tx9 servers, you will just automatically spawn in the wilderness debug? I had a friend spawn in the barren wasteland in 1.7.1.5, it's like 25kms to get back to the map and he doesn't have enough food or drink to sustain him. Essentially, we need to get specific gear off him that he was carrying, but we're afraid that A. He'll get back to civilisation after spawning in the wilderness on one of those servers, log out and log into a server where we can meeet him, only to spawn in the wasteland again, or B. We spawn into one of those wilderness servers and all spawn in the wilderness. Anybody confirm any of this?

The problem has gone from disconnects, to bodies disappearing. Now I usually blast people with an AS50 so they don't have time to disconnect, but their goddamned body disappears, sometimes instantly, sometimes 30 seconds after, not giving enough time to loot it. I've missed out on so many goodies because of bodies disappearing. These two issues - disconnects and bodies disappearing too soon, are the only two major issues that for me are hampering DayZ from being the brilliant game that it could be.

Servers are screwed right now. Why the hell would anybody DDoS the DayZ servers? Such a dick around because of some maladjusted wannabe hackers. Not cool, not lulzy, not anything but utter retardation of the highest order.

Have seen numerous examples on the map of several tens being set up with no gear in them, obviously being used to dupe items. In my opinion, get rid of tents altogether until it's no longer possible to dupe. I do not like that fact that I have to search for 20 hours to get a gun that somebody else can get by having a friend dupe theirs.

Had it happen again a couple of nights ago. Shot a guy, zombies got the kill, his body was gone in 20 seconds. Not long after that, I killed a guy and his body disappeared basically as he hit the ground, but I still got a bandit kill statistic for it. Both times they had NVGs and very decent weapons by the looks of it. Frustrating.
