DayZ forgetting options settings?

Check to see if your config file is "read only" if that box is checked, uncheck it -
I'm on the public hive and I'm getting the Christmas loot, my question is this, if we wipe persistence how long will it take to accumulate back in those special areas? Is it instantly or does it take a few days? .56 is only a week away (supposedly) and the loot is supposed to be fixed, but until then I'm trying to figure out a way to spread the loot out and get people back on the server. Any solid info will help. Apollo

So I can't delete my persistence data? I'm with fragnet and I'll have to check, but I'm 99% sure I still have the option to delete it....hmmm. @Scarcifer I'm not trying to find loot, I'm trying to spread the loot back out, wherever it wants to go, just not the explosion, I want it spread back out even if it's just for a few days EDIT: the option to delete persistence has been removed from my game panel, damn :/

Hello fellow survivors, as many of you know, there are some issues still with persistence, the main one is the "Christmas loot" or loot explosions found in certain areas of the map. This forces players to travel inland to find gear, which to us is not an entirely bad thing but it poses a few problems. Our server has been in the top 10 for quite a while and we like to keep it that way, it keeps things interesting on The Jungle and allows for all types of play style from people all over the globe, it also allows the Jungle community to grow and expand. Our player base consists of PVP'ers and bandits, to heros and RP fanatics, we want everybody to feel welcome on the server. So in an attempt to keep The Jungle thriving we will be performing a wipe of persistence data tonight at 10 PM central time, everything will be reset, trucks, tents, bags, and anything that is not in your inventory, I repeat, everything will be lost unless you pick it up! We hope this will allow people to play on the jungle however they choose, whether it's to stay up north and hunt for helis, or roam the coast looking for an unsuspecting victim. We will announce in game before the wipe several times, good hunting and hope to see you in game! -
So in the status report, it was said that the team has been working on dynamic events, personally I'm pretty excited about the idea, I'm not sure what they're referring to as "dynamic events" but for me I know I would LOVE to have a "ghost" train. Maybe the conductor turned while he was conducting and the throttle is stuck and the door is locked so we can't access the cabin to kill him and take over the train. Anywho, I think it would be cool if the train traveled up and down the map only slightly slowing down in towns, so if you have to get food or something you gotta be quick or get left behind. Perhaps breaking down every so often and you have to find the engine part etc. This is just my thought about something that could be considered a dynamic event, anything else you guys would like to see?

Does anybody have an idea of what type of events they are referring to? I might post it in dev section see what they say.

I think having an electric track would be the most plausible, but in order for it to work, the towns with stations would need to have a type of grid that would need to be activated, if you miss a town then the train will only make it so far between each grid radius?? Brainstorming over here

Maybe the tracks are electrical, or maybe you have to find a diesel tanker and drive it to the train to fill it up, or maybe it's solar, or coal powered? Would give us a reason to go to the numerous quarries throughout the map, or it could be alien technology that runs on the hopes and dreams if the survivors lol

Perhaps the train was carrying said convoy? yeah it may not be the most plausible scenario for a dynamic event, but this is a vidya game ... With zombies ... which aren't real ... so yeah

Well the zombie is trapped in the cabin, preventing a player from taking over the train, but the throttle is stuck from whatever happened so it's in continual travel mode...of sorts

The game should still be in .55, so sneaking around and angry zeds should still be in the game, they're just changing the loot system. Please correct me if I'm wrong

So a player within our community just messaged me, he tried to play the game like it was intended by planting some pumpkins and peppers instead of searching for canned food, however, as he was watching for it to finish so he could harvest, it immediately went from growing to rotten. this is either a persistence bug or "day/night cycle" bug. Anybody else have the same experience?

I think it's a noble idea, however I feel ts3 can be compared to some of those secret service ear bud things, yeah you would still be able to hear them "in game" but not as bad if they were using radios or voice comms and yelling at somebody running down the road. My .02 -

You guys need to play on Welcome to the Jungle, we don't abuse stuff like other owners, we have admins in game 80% of the time, we are waiting for persistence to get fixed then we are opening a private server. It's really appalling to read about people who have bad experiences with certain servers, I it's....if your going to run a server, why use it as your own loot stash just to kick and ban people??? The only people that get banned on our server are those who we have ample evidence of hacking and BI have verified that they are hacking, THEEEEN we add them our ban list. So when I read things like "clear the ban list" I just can't help but feel sorry, and then pissed because if we can have a server in the top 10 and follow the rules, then what the hell are these other people doing and why haven't they been shut down yet???? /rant I would for zeds to be fixed, persistence working fully, server "events" such as the ghost train traveling down the coast so you can hop a ride, I would like different seasons and last but not least, I would like to see an implementation of hero vs bandit, nothing flashy, but kind of like in Fable, but then you get into KOS vs not to KOS based on somebodies appearance blah blah blah -

Kamyshovo is still No Man's Land, trust nobody! We've had quite a few more people on TS than normally which is awesome! Just wanted to let players know that we are a group of friends first, a DayZ player group second. We don't require membership, you don't need to apply or pay any type of fees, if you're interested in the Killer Guerilla Batallion then all you need to do is hop in Teamspeak to hang out and play. we're looking forward to having you! -

Haven't found a static crash site since they removed the one by Rify -
So I like the idea of having a public server so that others can access it and play however they want (persistence would need to be fixed and enabled,) and have whitelisting for regulars and non douchers, this would also let us have a blacklist for hackers/exploiters (correct?) I'm all about realism and survival, buuuuut this is still a vidya game and I like playing my game where I can have a loot stash on a persistent server. I think combining all of that together would make for an awesome dayz experience. Thoughts?
