Hey, I have 650 hours on DayZ Standalone. I have been told to try the mod on multiple occasions, only problem is, it's so different, that I have no idea what to do. Seriously. I have the basic idea down, like 1. Scavenge 2. Slay 3. Survive and all that, but IDK where to find guns and stuff. I was in the fire-station in Elektro the other day, and found a Winchester, M4, PDW, all that good stuff, and then a French guy showed up, and I killed him, because he grabbed the M4, which made me nervous. Anyway, what I've come to know, is that the community of the mod is different than SA. Here's my questions: 1. I have DayZLauncher, which mod do you recommend? The story above took place on the vanilla mod. I have played Epoch for about an hour or so, and same with Epoch Panthera. I am currently downloading OverWatch/Poch. 2. Where would be some other places to find guns? 3. Do I KOS all the time in the mod? No-one seems friendly. 4. Tell me a good DayZ Mod story. I like stories. Thanks all. :)

Ok, I've always wanted this too. You can't. That's the thing. You can, however, (and I'm not being sarcastic when I say this, I do this sometimes) line the mouse pointer with a certain character feature, let's say t-shirt for example, and close your eyes, and click a random amount of times, and do that for all features. That's what I do if I want a random dude. Best of luck! -Andy

If you don't know what a leg iron is, let me explain. They're handcuffs, but for your legs. They're designed to prevent prisoners being transported from running. Currently, the handcuffs allow you to run, but slowly. I think the running should be a lot faster, and in order to prevent running, you'd have to find and use the leg irons. This'd not only give people who are handcuffed a little more chance, but would add an extra form of restriction to the game. .

I would recommend "re-packing", AKA, re-greasing all your chips with thermal paste. Make sure the chips actually need thermal paste before you apply. :)

On a serious note, this game really needs to get fixed as far as frame lag, lag spikes, city fps drops, etc. I get it, it's early access, but early access shouldn't mean 60 fps in Berezino, but 10 fps in Svetlo, -_- Anyone know when the new renderer is gonna come out? I heard that that's supposed to fix it.

No message recieved means the server crashed/restarted. If it crashed, how are you dying? Also, if you are at a military location, scope it out first, because those are high-priority targets for bandits/snipers. :)

You're issue is when everything "unrenders". It used to happen to me and someone else that I used to know. There's a simple fix, go into Configure, find vSync, and turn it off and on a few times. If that doesn't work, then IDK what will, but that is the supposed solution atm. Good luck!

hey. i got a geforce gt 740 for christmas. it handles the game well, but when looking into distant trees, the frame drops from 60 to 10 for about 5 seconds, then goes back to normal. what would fix this? i am getting a new computer pretty soon which includes a new processor, so would that fix it? is it dependent on the processor? i had a 2.33 ghz processor, so maybe that's what's causing it? thx in advance...

ive already got that at the lowest itll go. the only things i've got turned up to medium are the resolution (1280x1024) and the texture detail (medium) which the game looks good with these. terrain and objects detail barely makes any visual difference and is just a weight on frames imo. but yeah my tex filtering is on the lowest it can go. im looking forward to the new renderer. ive heard that dayz uses dx 7 which is old (2000 i think) and when they go to dx 11 sometime in this month or the next its gonna be a massive performance boost. def looking forward to that. hoping the better motherboard and processor ill be getting will help with this issue im having

Once, I found a heli-crash in the landing strip of NWAF, and another heli-crash right next to it on a patch of grass behind the ATC. There were 2 AKMs in the one behind the ATC, and there was an M4 in the one on the airstrip...

As far as the 1st/3rd person thing is concerned, you might've been on a hardcore server, so... yeah.

I think this is left out of the game as far as programming is concerned... but as far as what another player does, that determines whether you find a loaded gun or not. I've been in the Novo clocktower and 4 times have I found a loaded shotgun or sporter... so it depends on players, much like the rest of DayZ...

Yeah, the game's definetly being DDOSed. I've been reset like, ten times, and it's always nighttime, no loot, etc. I'm just gonna stay away (and I advise others too) until this whole thing blows over.

This is my second post on the DayZ Forums,. I notice whenever I get into a gunfight, I shake uncontrollably, and always end up getting killed. Every time there's a gunshot, my hand spazzes out at like, a million miles an hour, I can't help it! Yet, I see these dudes on YouTube who can take on a group of 4 fully decked-out players and not even flinch. But for me, when there's a gunfight, I ALWAYS get killed. I've never won a gunfight... what do I do? Thanks in advance for all responses, :D

Hey, I have a Radeon HD 5450, 1GB. I adjusted the "clocks" using the Catalyst Control Center, and now, after 5 minutes of being on, my screen goes wonky. Before you ask, no I can't change it, because my computer takes forever to open control center, and by the time it's open, it goes fuzzy. I tried safe mode, but that doesn't even use a graphics card, so it won't open control center. What do I do?

A suggestion for hardcore only... to make it more... hardcore... Manual bandaging system, AKA, Gauze quicktime event. Apply pressure w/ gauze by tapping spacebar as fast as you can. I know 99.99.99.99.99% of people hate quicktimes, but I for one like them. What do you guys think?

I can't turn it off, when I go to, just before, it fuzzies and I can't see anything.

IMO, there's not enough stuff in HC to make it HC, y'know? All they do is force you to be in first person.
