This is what I get when I try and login And when I click Network troubleshooting tips I get this Nothing running RE: Steam in taskmanager, everything else connecting fine. No VPN or peerblocks running

I cant get on it either mate (Europe), I put my password in and it keeps saying connection error. When I click troubleshooting the website is down. Other than steam my connection is fine.

Apart from the fact that my money goes toward hiring developers, coders, graphic artists etc to make the game faster and to make the game better. I.E. I am getting a return on my money by getting a better end game. That, my friend, is called an investment. :)

Sorry I disagree. I gave my money to BI, not for a product, but to invest in a future, complete game. From Wikipedia (first sentence actually): "Early access, alphafunding, or paid-alpha is a funding model in the video game industry by which consumers can pay for a game in the early stages of development and obtain access to playable but unfinished versions of the game, while the developer is able to use those funds to continue work on the game."

Would you care to explain? YOu can't really say its the biggest misconception around and not give any evidence to rebut it. When I gave my Money for the game, I was clearly under the impression that my money was going to the DayZ team to enable them to make a game which I believe I will enjoy once its finished. I want to play the end game therefore I invested my money into it.

are you for real? It would take 1 line of code, just take the current 0.52 release and add in the code for "Connect to servers = NO"

why dont they throw out a quick update that just leads to a dead end. so that any users updating and logging in dont loose all their gear? or would that be too sensible

So I've come back to DayZ after a few months. I've updated to latest stable 0.51 (I think). I've heard there are vehicles now so found their supposed spawn points on the BD map, spend three hours on Tuesday running round at least 10 different locations and no sign, both quiet servers and busier ones. Then, spend another 2 hours last night but I tried a different tactic, I found a supposed spawn location for a truck and (now I'm not very proud of this but I've never done it before) I server hopped, one server after the other, must have tried 30 servers easy. No vehicle at all was there? Am I doing something wrong / completely missing something here?

Ahh same as the helis then... I'm all for making something rare but jesus DAYZ, at least give someone a decent chance of finding and playing with the new thing in the game. I've still not found a heli!!.

IRL if your were to find a scope lying around and just fit it to your gun, you would HAVE to go to a gun range and spend several hours zeroing and honing the scope to your gun. So lets be honest, they arent exactly true to RL anyway.

But Easter Europe doesn't use Cryillic. Only Russia and Ukraine really. (anywhere ex-USSR) Im holiding onto the feeling that its meant to be a fictional Ukraine (Also "Cherno"..Chernobyl)? Anyway I guess it is what you make of it. There is no right or wrong answer, just thought that was a Ukrainian flag on the Zombie when I saw him.

That's pretty convincing right there. But could it be coincidence? Czech road signs never use cryllic alphabet, so the road signs in Dayz (all written in Cryllic) would not appear that way if it was meant to be eastern Europe. It would be more Russian or Ukraine, Belarussia places like that.

OK, not a great picture but it looks like at best the flag is upside down. Maybe green instead of blue. Still might be trying to indicate Ukraine instead of Russia though. Ukrainian flag

This is the flag of Chernarus But Chernarus is a "region" so could well be a fictional region in Ukraine? I mean soldiers wear national flags not regional ones.
