    Spawn Grace Period

If this is really needed, which I doubt, what about displaying scene of respawn before character is moved there? For like 5s you'll have time to see where are you going to spawn. And if I'm not mistaken, side effect of this is that you'll have instant control of your avatar after its moved.

    Tents

You can't pack tent which belong to someone else. You can only raid it.
  3. Guys, I think you want too much from this mod. Not that it is not doable, but I think, and rocket few times stressed, that there is no way game will do something for you. If you want safe zone, do it with other players and guard it. And btw. after rocket's bandit-poll I bet bandit models are going to be removed from game (probably with whole humanity thingy)
  4. I don't think this role system is enough. If everybody can do everything, than for professional PK may killing you because of your successful career be even more rewarding. But what about inspiring in real life? We all have some sort of different skills that gives our lives some value. What do you think about this? https://dev-heaven.net/issues/30907 Yeah, it adds some limitations, but nothing serious one cannot live with. You still can be lone wolf. You still can be PK psycho. And it even create more scenarios, like teaming up to kidnap someone you need. Can you imagine that? Being kidnapped when baking your meal? Maybe you even develop Stockholm syndrome and group with your former captors. :D

    The PvP Discussion Thread

I have murder count 0, bandit kills 0 and I am proud of it. I quite enjoy now Samaritan way of playing this. Being shot twice (I used to fear other people and always avoid them) and discovering the transience of 'physical' belongings my gameplay is now like finding ALICE backpack, stuff it with ammo, food, whatever and give it all to the first survivor I meet (if he/she is interested of course). And then move to next city/village and try again. No difference for me if I'm shot in process :D (but I still think https://dev-heaven.net/issues/30907 is good idea)

    Wanting to host a server

What are you talking about? Of course there are executables on Linux. On linux its just represented as file attribute and not depending on .exe suffix. AFAIK it all depends whether some interprocess communcation will be implemented in arma's linux server as is in windows version.

    DayZ Stories

You are hilarious. In your first post you complain about lack of teamwork and senseless killings, then second post is this story. Don't you work at politics IRL? :D Nice story though....

    Blood type/Group

Well this is cool idea IMHO. Another way to naturally encourage cooperation/trade.

One way to ask if someone is friendly

Exactly my thoughts SgtSnug. The game should do minimal work for you. Btw. I am sure professional bad guys are able to avoid each other and less skilled players will only get another no-go zone if humanity level based spawn is implemented.

    Would you kill a bandit?

No, I shoot always as second (if have a chance :D )... shame on me

Factions / Trading / Player Types

Why would you escape the game world? Just write it down. AFAIK this was pretty common in old days when games were hard. This journal thing seems to me so artificial I dare to say its against the spirit of this mod (If I get it right of course). But as I posted before, I completely agree that some sort of identification marks might come handy, which of course for teams mean, there has to be some managed way to obtain them... just I don't like when even so basic things like social interaction is proposed to be implemented.

    Suggestions to Increase Teamwork

I don't think its a good idea as I see no need to artificially enforcing teamwork. There are quite a number of YT videos showing people are even now capable of forming large groups. Its up to willingness and capabilities of individual person to join/create groups and play as a team. Nothing more thrilling than to create a team with sole purpose to hunt down some a$$hole sniper in Elektro... :D
  13. I don't know if my comments are invisible or what. Not even one reaction to them. And I truly believe, specializing survivors, as in real life most of us are highly specialized and not going to last very long on its own, will ease excessive murdering. It will not stop PvP, but its not the point.

Factions / Trading / Player Types

I don't get it. Everything except 'faction' like logos, tattos etc. you already can do. Journal = pen and paper near keyboard Faction and related stuff = talk to people, vote your leader by talking, assign your roles... Or am I missing something?
  15. Well, this is still explicitely punishing the bandits. IRL its police&justice system job to do. In DayZ there is no such thing, so either some players team up and hunt killers or crime is left unpunished. As I stated, I see the way to solve excessive murdering by increasing each survivor value. In case of bandit/humanity model as Oktyober mentioned, helping fellow bandit is no use to bandit -> he needs to help "good" survivor. But what if the value of survivor is increased by different specialization of different survivors? What about randomly assign survivor some set of skills on spawn, like medic to treat fractured bones (and until you are fixed, you have to take painkillers). Mechanic which can repair cars/helis and maybe weapons if some sort of material fatigue is introduced. Even cook which can "convert" found food to quality one with higher blood restore... For 40 people on server (as on EU1&2 where I play) I think some 5 different classes should be enough. Just to assure lone wolfs occasionally need some help from others. And If they team up, then "good" players have to team up also and eliminate them as threat or be eliminated. And of course value of survivor is also increased by increased threat from environment.
  16. I see the bandit system as another way of simulating some in-real-life present aspects as different faces, cloths, body figures etc.. which usually helps identifying perpetrators. Like in real life, being a thief/murderer you may easily come to some property, but your life is generally harder because of this life style. And once again, I really like the idea of increasing "value" of "good" fellows like mentioned bounty/humanity hunting etc...
  17. Although I don't completely agree with what Oktyabr wrote (mainly zombies being more sensitive to killers) I strongly agree with his last few points. This idea of bandits kidnapping people to give them transfusion etc. is very interesting indeed. And of course "bounty/humanity hunting" is also very interesting.
