If you need an SKS, I would suggest looking near tanks. In my experience, I dont find many tanks, that dont have a few SKSs nearby. -

Anyone besides hoppers....are there ak74 mags? Been scouring but no luck. I'm tempted to post up in military areas and start taking or hoppers. Only one Barack has had loot the last 3 days. -

Thanks for the pics guys. So what do we get to deal with in this version? Main reason I like exp so much. You have to totally adapt your playing style to the harsh exp conditions. Most people whine about it but I really enjoy it. Download almost done... I do agree with poster that said people are more civilized in exp. I almost expect friendlies in exp...in stable I expect the complete opposite. -

Yes, Food and water is combo stuff now. What I've been doing is drinking water until hydrated is just green, not bright green. Then supplementing my hunger as I find it. Most food will give some hydration effects as well. Not sure about when they implemented the wind blowing out my matches, only happened a few times. As far as the repeater or pump shotty. I'm torn. I really like them both. Kinda depends on what ammo I have. -

Here is my experience so far. Gear galore...especially food. Within 15 mins I had everything I needed. Guns are everywhere especially sks. In less then 2 hours I had my hands on a mosin, sks, repeater, pump shotty, reg shot gun, ak101, and almost every hand gun but fx and magnum. If you carry two guns, the dropped one disappears, and you must log off/on to see it again. I haven't had any CTD, but I've had maybe 2 of them in over 600 hours of play. Servers are restarting almost every 20 mins on average. Shoes are degrading at an alarming rate. Be prepared to get a new set of shoes in every town and I've started carrying an extra pair. I can confirm that there is some health loss from ruined shoes as I was constantly in healing mode much of the time. Zombies haven't been going through walls as much. They seem to hit a lot harder, and seemed like when bleeding, my screen was turning black and white a bit faster...But really unsure if this is the case. Gonna play some more, just went through nwaf without seeing anyone, in fact have only seen one player, but he didn't see me. -

Regarding my stash test. I came back to dayz after about 30 hours and my stash of a blaze, rope, peaches, axe, face mask, and welding mask, had dwindled down to two blazes. Didn't have the time to test the fish trap and getting a tent. Also found some wire but server always restarts before I catch a whaskowie wabbit. -

Only time I haven't been able to light a fire was near or in a building. I'm not sure if the same thing applies to trees but I don't remember having that issue. -

Check pub houses or two story houses with a kitchen down stairs and two doors upstairs...generally higher chance at need kits. But like a previous posters, any house can spawn med loot -
This is totally normal. Your first several toons will die or have funny things happen to it. Soon you will recognise buildings that have priority loot, such as guns or food or medical supplies. One you know where to look for certain things, your life will become easier, you'll live longer and be more efficient at surviving. Good luck

I've been doing some tests on stashed goods. It seems that stuff will remain for a little while. I put some rope, peaches, welding mask, a blaze, an axe, and a face mask. I tried to get a nice mix of things to leave. Everything was still there after the server restart. The blaze and peaches duplicated...and everything else was still there. I'm going to check when I get home, which will be about 1 day, to see if things are still there. Next I want to try the fishing trap and see if I can get a tent. -

It's fear. Fear makes you go into fight or flight mode. That shaking is your brain telling you to run. You either channel fear into bravery and confidence our let the fear control you. I have played lots of fps and PvP over the last 10 years so I'm sorta used to it...just keep practicing. Instead of running away, try and take 10 secs and gain your confidence and proceed...it will get easier with time and practice. Gl -

I can confirm the sledge hammer is a beast. Some douche bag thought he could punch me out and take my gear. I warned him and went on my way. He gave pursuit and warned him again but he was persistent. I turned around and one shot him in the face...pretty hilarious. -

There was a post early in this thread that did a good job of explaining this phenomenon. The op thinks that your character"s hit box actually gets stuck at the door way...while on screen you are clearly inside. Seemed to make sense to me. -

Yes this is true from what I can tell. There were a few servers up last night, and slowly they went down 1 by 1 until all servers were empty. When I woke this morning, most servers had 5-6 people in them. I went on one server and it had absolutely nothing for loot. It crashed shortly after that. Went on another and it was loot heaven, stuff was spawning as I picked up other things in the room. In about 15 mins, I was fully geared with guns, ammo, and food/drink up the wazoo. I found the new pump shotty and messed lots of zombie up with it. So fun. Quite the contrast from last week, when you had to do everything possible to survive. Now as I came home after work, all the servers are down, and I agree with what MadTommy said. The servers crash and then cannot reboot for some reason. We can only hope things get changed...cause I love exp. -

Ive heard that if you vault, the invisible zombie will leave you. Not sure if the zombie is invisible or under the ground. I've tried it once and it worked but can't confirm from such a small sample size. -

Actually the west coast its better for finding gears. Nwaf has damaged boots, random guns, and backpacks, but not sure if it was looted or not. I've been running from town to town on the west coast with some luck, but still have to kill some wildlife to survive. -

Yeah...There is a higher rate of finding berries and they are never rotten. Apple's seem to be about a ten percent drop rate including rotten ones. I was getting a 25% drop rate from berries and no rotten ones. This is how I've survived for over 5 hours on exp. Also looting houses and apartment s you usually wouldn't loot. Gl -

Berries are much better for hunger then Apple's....Just saying
