I have the same problem from time to time. I think there's nothing more to it than this game is in alpha, and this is what you could expect. It was only yesterday this probalem occurred for me. But after about 5 attempts, I got to play the game for about 3 hours, til I closet it myself. So for me it usually works after a few times trying. Don't give up the fight against the bug. Eventually, you will win! ;)

It was really good! I enjoyed it to the very last. But I have one thing I think would make this even better. You could try having less music in. Even though it was supposed to be cinematic, it was maybe a bit to much when it was on pretty much all the time. It felt a bit like it all only was a big long intro because of that. Other then that. Great work!

Okay. Thank you! :)

People have suggested this plenty of times. Don't know if the devz have confirmed it though. I guess we'll have to see. Or you could ask art lead Chris here

Is it only me who doesn't know how to add a pic here? Could someone please help my poor soul

Maybe this takes way to much time for the developers and in the end it won't be for any good for some people. But I feel like all the towns and cities in Chernarus looks pretty much the same. I mean they have there differenses in terrain and all but it still doens't feel like a discovery like it should when you find a new town. I think that all the Chernarus towns/cities needs something that's speciell for just that place like a building or something else. Or at least that it's built in a sort of different way. As it is now you just find a town. You run in and out through all the houses looking for loot. Then you just run to the next town with the same old feeling that you just want to get there as fast as possible and start having a boring loot run again in a town that you've seen before and that "feels" pretty much the same as the one before did (sorry for bad a description but you know what feeling I'm talking about). I think DayZ needs a bit of that extra feeling when you come in to a new town, that you actually found something worth checking out. Maybe not only for the loot, but also for the experiens and the surounding. I want that everytime you start DayZ and plays it. It feels like a journy throughout the whole day(z). And I think that that will prevent players from getting bored in the long run. Well this has a lot with map design to do (duh) and maybe in the future when people can create there own maps, there will show up a map that is like this that I'm describing here. I guess we'll have to wait and see. Anyways... Didn't really know if this fits in the suddgestions topic or General Discussions but I hope that you understand what I'm trying to say. Please comment if you have anything on you mind relaiting to this topic

I totally agree with you

A lot of crazy shit can go down there if you're on the right (or wrong) server so if you're heading there. Prepare your anu...

I like it and your right about that we should have some variants and a more indept fireplace mechanics

This would be very interesting. Maybe you saw a team of bandits robbing innocents in Electro. You follow them and it turnes out that they have a camp in the forest somewhere. You follow them and sneak in to there camp, destroy there stuff and sneak out again. Then you watch them die from poisoned water that they thought were purified. *evil hero laugh*

Maybe. But isn't this something DayZ needs? Habits like this would give your character more personality. Things like this will make people look for more loot that just food and weapons. Make so the character gets addicted after a while (cigarets please add ;)) you get a reward because you don't have to eat as much. BUT now you have to find morphine, or something else, instead to keep your character from shaking A LOT and maybe see a bit grayer. Sorry Calibre. I'm taking over your suddgestion here :D

One of my best DayZ experiences is acctually, I think, in 0.46 something. Don't really remember. It was a long time ago. I played as a long wolf, since non Iof my friends had the game back then, on one of my first characters which I had had for a long time. pretty much since the standalone was released. I had played the game for a while but I didn't know much about it. I was afraid of everything. I had no weapon except for a fire extinguisher if I remember correctly. I looted by some of those apartments somewhere in the woods. I searched some cars and that's when I found my first ever firearm AND mosin. My beloved mosin <3 (getting a bit sentimental here). Anyways *caugh* I didn't have any bullets for it then but it didn't matter. I could feel that I was hungry so I entered the first apartment building, unknowing that those god damn building never spawn anything. After minutes past by and I didn't find anything, I started to panic. I still hadn't found ANYTHING and now I was starving. I searched the last rooms, but nothing. I started running (dumb ways to die). I had to get to a new town where I could get something to eat. I was on my way up on a dirt road up a big hill. I watched out over the building. And then I fell to the ground and died. For you this might not seem like a cool DayZ experiance. But this is what DayZ is about for me. Feeling really lonely, searching desperat for something useful to keep on living. After only 178 hours of gameplay and I don't have that same feeling anymore. With is unfortunate. I really miss thouse days when food where scare and the only thing you could find was rotten kiwis, and you were afraid of pretty much everything.

Molotovs. Yes. Flamethrowers. Doon't think so. Com'on it's in Chernarous and that's a poor place. Don't think anyone would have a flamethrower ;). And I feel like this would only encourage People to be Rambo in Electro
-
Your right. These needs to be in the game. No but seriously. Cool idea. A whetstone, a machete, chair and a animation where you sit down and sharpen your object in a badass kinda way.
-
I think that they recently have done this, or something similar. I think It was Eugen who said recently (don't take my word on it that it was him) that they had tested the new BattleEye and that so far nothing had succefully past it, or circumvent it or what you want to call it. So I think that they already are doing something like that
-
Yep. Dude your at the border. Run the hell out of there cuz there's some nasty stuff going on in area Z ;)
-
I personally really like this idea. If this was added to the game, people would start carring about there character because otherwise you would not only have to get new loot when you die. But also "level up" your skills. I think that soft skills are on the Road Map so we will probably see something that has to do with that. I'm all for it short said! Edit: Didn't spell "loot" correct (how the f*ck? ;P)
-
No. As people have told you. We can't do pretty much anything with windows and doors right now. There's a few thing with the doors like locking them and break them for a short while. But the reason that we can't do anything is because of the old engine. When they switch entirely from the old one to Enfusion, they should be able to do breakable windows, doors ect. Don't know how long we will have to wait though. But it will probably be in the game at the same time boarding gets added

Ability to collect gun powder from ammunition!
ToySmokes replied to CGNoodlePot (DayZ)'s topic in Suggestions
This would be a cool feature. But I don't think it'll work in DayZ unless you can only craft very week bombs that only kills zeds (assuming that you only have planted one bomb) I think another way of balancing it, is to make so that you need a lot of bullets to get enough powder to graft anything since unexperienced hands would drop a lot of it when opening them. Like maybe a full package of ammo with let's say 20 bullets in i would maybe be "enough"t, depending on how big the bullets are of corse. -
Of corse they are. But the Aug can't explode and get spammed in areas with a lot of people in, that will cause kiddies to rage quit ;)Explosives in general in DayZ needs to be rare since its a survival MMO . Not a fps
-
We do need high detailed and realistic gore though
-
As Sacha said. These thing needs to be EXTREAMLY rare. Maybe even harder to find than a let's say Aug or Smersh vest. Okay maybe not that rare but you get the point ;)
-
The devs have probably already thought of this since its been mentioned before. It's a good suddgestion and I hope that it will be implomented sooner or later. But I don't think this works with all weapons? I'm not an expert but I think so. Can anyone confirm this?
-
This would be so cool in a prisoner situations. You make someone surrender to you. Maybe he shot your friend, or tried to kill you. When he's sitting there with his hands on his head and praying for his life. Then you hit him with your buttstock so he gets unconscious and then you handcuff him. Grab him with the new carry animation that we totally will have in the future ;), and put him on the back of your pickup truck and drive away to camp where you keep him hostage.
