Why shouldn't they? personally at the moment zombies aren't much of a threat due to the fact that they're that easy to juke, you can lose them by literally walking slowly around a bush, and as long as you can plan a route properly and don't corner yourself they usually won't touch you. So by making them in capable of doing something like climbing a ladder or swimming just makes more ways to get away from zombies and even reduce the risk for those silly snipers who climb towers with only one way in and out. As for the update, looks good so far, haven't had a chance to test it at the moment, but will be playing later tonight. I don't understand why there's this much of an uproar about textures. But if removing them and discussing their future with the people that made them is the course of action to take at the moment, then do that and hopefully come to a compromise with the players that feel that a mostly aesthetic change along with a shout out to people involved with the team has ruined everything for them.

Official DayZ Brony & Pegasister Meetup

I could potentially have a server for us to use, although last I checked we weren't going to continue the payments and it might be nearing the end of the last month, but if its still up we could use it. And depending on the time this happens I might be able to make it and if mines still up, admin the server. -
Server: US #500 (1.7.2.5/95948) [VET] [GMT +1] |saphik.tv| Time: 02:40 AM, GMT +10 What happened: a player named [FR]Callat was logged in as the admin of the server and kicked anyone that joined, while normally this isn't a cheat report, the thing is that I'm a co-owner of the server and one of the four admins of the server, and he isn't someone that we know and therefore is someone who has hacked into our server and was able to log in as an admin.

Personally I think it's both a good and bad idea at the same time, while I would like to have it in the game, it's for bad reasons, I'd like not to risk my gear and just run around on the coast and meet people and help newbies sort of thing, but like others have said it removes the part of the game that feels like perma-death, and clans could essentially be in two places at once. The topic has a pretty balanced pro and con list, it comes down to would it benefit the game more than it will be able to be abused to worsen it.

Dear PLAYER1 of US 455 Earlier tonight (around 9:30 PM AEST) as you and your buddy set up to start sniping in Cherno from your spot on the roof of the central building of the industrial section of Cherno, you were unaware of me and my mates spotting movement as we decided to check the rooftops before leaving Cherno after regrouping together. Looking down the sights of my DMR I thought I should check that roof as I know people like to snipe from there, and there you were, and your buddy moving around on the next roof over. Not that you were unaware of us watching you for much longer after my first shot at your buddy, which hit the top of the roof just a scant few millimetres lower in my sights from his body. After moving around so you wouldn't be able to draw my position from my first shot I turned my sights on you after I found that from my new spot I couldn't see my original target. I used the range the game had so politely given me with your name for my next shot, fire, miss, fire, miss, fire, miss, fire, blood. But what was this red text on my screen, no message received for 5 seconds... My 740 meter shot that had finally hit you happened after the server stopped responding, aw well, I didn't want any gear from your body, it was just for the sport of killing another sniper who had taken up an obvious position, I wasn't disappointed at the servers timing of crashing, I was glad I had finally hit you and we just moved on back north afterwards. If you do read this PLAYER1, or his buddy, I hope you take away that you should use a different position, and to remember how close you came to being killed on that roof. Happy hunting PLAYER1. -SStriker

Simple Deterance to Trigger happy CoD fans and "bandits"
SStriker replied to RedDedZed's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
Please point out these facts and the stated references of where you retrieved them and their accompanying research to prove them. The point that he was originally making is that there is no difference between the mentality that shooting survivors results in PTSD while shooting infected is completely fine, he was talking in a philosophical sense that there's no way that it could be proved that the infected aren't capable of higher thinking and aren't just controlled by a blood lust that the infection caused. In short zombies are humans too. Adding anything to deter PvP would ruin the game and make it easier if anything, if we all got along with each other and just killed zombies, shared supplies and guns, what use would there be for the game, you may as well go outside and start a peace protest. It would become a social experience rather than something you do to play as a game and may as well just become a Facebook group. Half the fun is running around finding gear, getting into gunfights, dying to random bugs and zombies or being shot by a bandit to fuel their escapades with your supplies. As I saw someone else say on these forums, "dead and diced is the way of all players, nothing on your character is yours, you're just minding it for the guy who kills you." (I did take some liberties on editing it so that it was as close to proper English as I can get it). The rest is in the atmosphere of knowing that at any time no matter how careful you are, you may still be shot by some guy who found a DMR. Wether you like it or not, in a 'real' apocalyptic scenario there will be people that will kill others just because they might have something, anyone who denies it really doesn't pay much attention to the news as it happens already in today's society when there's even less of a reason for it. -
From that post it has come to my understanding that it seems to be a bug that happens if you put clothing on while inside, because while I was playing last night I found some camo clothing again and when I put it on outside to test to see if I could swim across the land, nothing unusual happened.
