I'll be 60 next month but I act like a kid,I don't want want to grow up.This game is the first online game I've ever played,I dont care if you kill me cause I will spawn again,you can't get rid of me cause I will spawn again.A lot of this game is about the hunt and the hunted,and living on the edge is exciting,not knowing if the guy you just helped is going to ax you in the end.This game will teach you to be street smart through experience trial and error.It does allow you to role play anyway you want too.I think the way you play says a lot about what kind of person you are,but that is not set in stone.I think it would be really cool to join up with people on this forum,start our own clan....but i'm in the US.I am onedog I will always be your friend Hoka Hey it is always a good day to die.

Havent seen anything about this yet,was wondering with the new update is it possible to get sick and die from drinking pond water.The reason I ask is I was with a group that drank from the same pond,one person got sick and died,and they did not eat any bad or burt food.Also can someone force feed you something without you knowing it? Ive also heard people can spray food with a chemical and if you eat it you die unless you have charcoal tabs? any truth to that? Thanks

I think thats true for most of the people who just started playing.The controls are not the best right now aiming a gun and shooting at a moving target( zombies ) is difficult to say the least.I'm not ready for any major encounters although I have run into a few new spawns and tried to help them as much as I could.Having someone else to run with I find really helps and I enjoy that part of it.It makes things a little more comfortable in the game.I dont really care about going to the military bases to find the best stuff,just finding something to open a can of food is like christmas to me.And like you all said this might change the more I play the game but for now i'm having fun.

Just to imform im playing the standalone on public servers,so i guess even if the food were sprayed it might make you sick but not kill you.I'll have to watch the youtube video but it my have come out before the last update.Thanks for everyones input.

This could be really bad for newspawns since were so dependent on any fresh food you find,oh look someone left this nice apple on the table,I guess same chance as stepping out the door and getting shot.Hope I get some more input to this subject

I was wondering if you log off of a server say one day and return the next and that server is not available do you lose that charecter or is it always saved untill its back on line.Also if that server is not avaiable and you start another charecter what happens,does it cancel the other.Also I noticed once when I logged off for the night my charecter was fine but when I logged on the next day that same charecter in the same spot developed hyperthermia and died.Thanks

Ok so your saying its a good idea to pay attention to what servers your using,like dont jump around from one type of server to another.I think someone once mentioned find a couple of good servers and stick to them.My thing is since im so new to this game I tend to go on servers with low population counts just so I can get the game mechanics down and not have to worry about running into to many pvp for now

If theirs only one do as I did and just punch them in the head.Dont put your pointer on their head just your fist.Try to have some bandages cause if your new like me your probably going to be bleeding at the end of it.I did have one fracture my arm once but its a good way to get rid of them.Hope it works for you..good luck

I will be purchasing Dayz standalone very soon,but have never played an online game before.I'm on satalite but have free access after 12 midnight.I tried to research as much as possible about servers to use and not use,times to servers and pings.Can anyone please give me some basic pointers or steps to follow for getting started,really looking forward to playing this game.Thanks for your help

Thats pretty much what I have been doing is just playing,but the more forums I read it seems the good people are far and few between or just hidden cause they dont want to get shot.I hope their will some balance to the game cause its hard enough just to get started then you run into someone give them a hand and they shoot you for a thank you.I did run into a very large group of people who seemed to have a team leader he was wearing a red beret.They were all camoed out.We talked for a minute then they left.IT was awsome wished I could have gone with them.

Ok.. so zombies scare me half to death,as soon as I hear them bam i'm gone.As i'm running I see all the houses I just passed up,which means no food no nothing.So I spawned in kamyshovo there was another new spawn there also,I started talking to him he had no mic but then a zombie came up and i ran into the fire house along with the zombie and other new spawn.Got up to the top followed by the zombie ran back down went out the door and closed it leaving the zombie and other guy inside.I felt really bad but I was in a panic.I hear punching going on but ran into the woods and stopped.I was bleeding but had nothing,when low and behold that guy showed up and bandaged me.I told him thanks so much but the servers restarted and lost him.Never found out who he was but thank you for saving my B-------.anyway I said ok thats it dont care if I die not running from zombies anymore.As a matter of fact I went looking for them.I managed to punch my way through 3 or 4 zombies killing all of them.Once you get the aim down its not too hard to knock them down.They usually drop about four times before they die.But thanks to that poor soul I left in the fire house I owe my courage to him.

YAZAR 8 no offence taken I was only asking to figure out how to navigate through the steam system since i'm new to it.Its a lot of work babysitting a new player and I have no problem going out on my own to learn to play.One more question I would like to ask is how do you know what the rules are for each server,such as someone mentioned that private servers are better to play on they make their own rules,where are the rules located? ok so i'm really bad at these forums totally lost....Yazar 8 I clicked on your link only to see( Tamer) dont know what i'm supposed to do.I've put about 24 hours into play most of you say dont trust anyone or join a clan or give someone your steam name.How do I apply that in the steam section? Love the game but im too trusting,guess i will learn my lesson soon but I dont want to turn into an A-hole I like helping people.But not to get off the subject how do I contact you or other players that i might want to join up with? Thanks everyone for your reply I know the game is unfinished and I know the basics for getting started in the game,I guess I should have asked about using servers,something about don't use a server without the red battle eye? or don't use certain servers or you could lose your character and gear.How do you know if a server is safe to go to? Is the red battle eye a sign that it is safe? Thanks again for the help.
