People go everywhere around the map. I did a test with a lockpick, locked up a few houses, came back an hour later and all doors and such were unlocked.

Was fully geared with a gas mask and gorka helmet. Was on top of a building, switched to my pistol... kept walking and then fell off to my death. -
9mm, .45 ACP and 7.62x39mm are military... why?

There was a civil war before the outbreak in the ArmA 2 series. I'd assume many people would have guns for self-defense. Not only that, they added a hunting rifle which takes the 7.62x39mm cartridge so it only makes sense to have it inside houses, at the moment the CR527 carbine is the waste of time - both hours trying to find the ammunition and hours adding it into DayZ. By the time you find the right magazine and ammunition for the CR527 you already have a different and better gun. -

Hi, I've been to Vybor, Zelenogorsk, Pavlovo, NWAF and every single barrack on these servers has been licked clean of loot. I've been forced to server hop as well, high pop, medium and low pop etc and all the same, absolutely nothing but a few mountain backpacks.. Magazines and AK's need to be spawn in areas instead of just barracks, the military tents are a waste of time now, so are ATC's and prison buildings now. I've been to persistence off servers and still same results. -

No, it's the work of badmins kicking users. I've reported a server for it and next day the server cease to exist. -

I know it's pathetic. I'm ashamed of what I've succumbed to. I know I don't "need" it but it's just a goal I set for something to do in DayZ, regardless, I think I'll have more luck looking for helicopter crash sites. Why did you assume I haven't played the mod? I've put 500 hours into ARMA 2 OA. -

I remember before 0.49 AK's would spawn at almost everything military (as it's should because 5 million AK's have been produced IRL) and magazines would spawn at the military tents, but everything has been constricted to just barracks, why?! :( -
I'd say the rate of server hopping has increased since how ridiculously rare the magazines and such are. I was playing on a private shard and people would still get to the barracks after the restart before me, :(

The 7.62x39mm still should spawn where every other civilian ammo spawn is.

I'm quite devastated that they nerfed the 7.62x39mm spawns. SKS's are everywhere in civilian spawns if you find one on the far east you're forced to travel to military areas in the far west, just to find the ammo. You might as well have an assault rifle by then.
