More Spray Pain Color Options For Latter Please! :)

But that's what the black spray paint is for. Black isn't very dark in this game, it's very greyish, it works for cities.

No, but seriously, you'll just see a parade of morons wearing Payday masks and bright colours (with possibly no pants) going around and screaming into their microphone. It's gonna be immersion breaking. Also, another issue is that people may be trolls and paint whatever they find pink, red, lime green, yellow, orange, purple, whatever. So instead of finding normal black/green ballistic helmets, you might find a bunch of hot pink ones at an airfield, or a bright yellow hunter backpack, or some purple boots.

More Spray Pain Color Options For Latter Please! :)

I sort of changed my perspective after I realised that 9/10 people wanted to spray their stuff bright colours so they could stand out. Anyway, it would piss me off because, in reality, nobody in real life would ever think to do stuff like that. Now, I know that DayZ isn't reality, but it's very realistic, and with some suggestions such as sleeping, deeper medical procedures (such as blood pressure and using defibrillators) and bullet pressing, should these be implemented, you'd sort of get the impression that the game is going for a realistic experience. As I said, most (sane) people wouldn't wear bright colours in a realistic experience. It's better just to not include the feature instead of giving it to people in hopes that they won't use it.

Because you know that everyone will wear bright coloured stuff the moment that is added, because the community is full of trolls and guys that joke around.

More Spray Pain Color Options For Latter Please! :)

It would piss me the fuck off though, (and seeing as alot of feedback is positive on this thread, it's probably more likely that a lot of people would be wearing bright colours) seeing everyone running around in bright colours and/or painting everything they find just to make that item unusable. Also, nobody sane would ever wear bright colours. People only do it because it's a game and it's fun, and you respawn. But nobody would do it if they only had one life. That's the reason it's not immersion breaking If you're gonna add coloured spraypaints, so people can paint everything in sight lime green, or pink, or something then you might as well not include sleeping or enhanced medical procedures, or bullet pressing or base building because everything's going to break the immersion when you see a conga line of morons wearing Payday masks along with bright pink, lime green, and orange clothing. Besides, I'm not sure if it's possible to spray paint nylon things such as Mountain Backpacks or slippery Tactical Shirts, as spraypaint is generally only good on hard surfaces such as guns and helmets.
  6. Maybe instead of finding new clothing you could use a bleach + water combination or something to clean the clothes. Sometimes you may need a sewing kit after to patch up holes or something.

More Spray Pain Color Options For Latter Please! :)

Hell no! Am I the only person who disagrees with stuff in fancy colours? Maybe it's to do with the fact that I'm shy, but I'd rather wear camo and not be shot in the head by a sniper (mind you, a logical survivor who wears camo stuff) because he spotted me from 500 metres away. Seriously, this game is realistic, there would be a select few people that would wear bright coloured stuff but most people would prefer to wear green stuff and stay hidden. Not allowing people to wear whacky colours isn't really breaking immersion because barely anyone would do that in the first place. Just my two cents.

More Spray Pain Color Options For Latter Please! :)

Eh, maybe, although it should just stick to spray painting guns and attachments. I know I'm gonna get pissed when I find someone who spray paints every spare helmet, vest, backpack a bright colour and makes sure that nobody ever finds paint remover.
  9. I think the HK417 could possibly end up in Chernarus as well, even if the ADF wasn't deployed -- It's employed by the UK SAS, which may have been deployed there.
  10. This game needs some Australian weapons. Australia 9/10 will send relief to a country after disaster. What if the riots had been going on for weeks before the actual outbreak? Australia most likely would have came with troops and aid supplies in attempts to calm down the community. So, here's my suggestions for weapons: HK417 -- Primary Marksman Rifle of the Australian Defence Force, it extends the range of platoons by a few hundred metres. AUG A3 -- Primary weapon of the Australian Defence Force, it is used by the average rifleman. Browning Hi Power* -- Main sidearm of the ADF. *also known as the "Self-Loading Pistol 9mm Mk 3"

    Pistols with magazines ?

Yeah, I agree. I actually think all weapons should have some percentage of spawning with magazines, pistols having a higher percent chance whilst assault rifles should have a lower percent chance. Also, weapons that don't have mags should have a chance to spawn with bullets loaded inside.

    Stings for Weapons

I agree. I don't even think you need to have two weapons to put a sling on your gun, it's just cool, and maybe with different slings (one point, two point, etc) it could have a different holstering/readying animation. (If your gun has a 1P Sling, it goes infront of your body with the barrel hanging downwards. If your gun has a 2P sling, it goes on your back barrel up, etc etc.)

    Suggestion: Sleeping When Logged Out

That's not what I meant. Of course DayZ should have guns, every good zombie survival simulator needs guns. (Atleast the ones I've heard of.) But taking something specific eg sleeping or a plane flying over dropping crates would make it a bit too similar to Rust.. I think the Energised status is enough -- No stupid sleeping with some dumb animation, no resting, it's a video game, not a life simulator with zombies and no law enforcement. Remember, this game isn't exactly reality but it's realistic enough, for example it doesn't matter if you eat well or not, your character still can't last for ingame weeks on end without food. It's realistic, but it's fitted within a certain bounds. Your character can sprint with a backpack and vest full of stuff, with long sleeved shirts and long pants in the sun, carrying a rifle and ammunition.. In real life, a soldier with similar gear probably wouldn't even be able to run for very far. Not full out sprint. Of course, the stamina/weight system will change that, but it's gonna be the generic "regenerate over a period of time" and not "sit down and rest for eternity before you can run 50 metres again". And how are you gonna incorporate slow reflexes into the game? Make your character have slower turning and make it longer to raise a weapon? Obviously, this game is realistic but it's not reality. I don't think it needs sleeping, that's just taking it too far. If I wanted to play Rust, with all the sleeping etc, I would play Rust. DayZ does not need to go down that track. Honestly, if sleeping was implemented, I would quit. I'm not going to want to marathon and halfway through, have to leave or get killed because my stupid character takes forever to raise his weapon, or get up from crouching, or is too slow to turn. I'm sure resting would only provide a temporary fix to the sluggishness (unless you sat there for hours, but it would probably be safer to log out and initiate sleep.) and then you'd end up having to rest again a short time later.

    Suggestion: Sleeping When Logged Out

First of all, I've never played Fallout, so I didn't know, and I have never heard of Harvest Moon. In this case, however, I'm referring to ONLY RUST. And why sleeping should not be included? Well, why not? It's not like sleeping will be any use, because it's just gonna be some animation when you logout, is it not? Resting, eh, I don't mind, as long as it's simple as sitting down somewhere for a few minutes, and not a full on sleeping animation.
  15. lelmat132

    Suggestion: Sleeping When Logged Out

Well, think, does this game need sleeping? Rust already has sleeping -- Do we need a copypaste of Rust with a different map? No, we don't. Go play Rust if you want to fucking sleep. And no, I would not want to see the laying down animation. I feel like it would look stupid, especially if your gun/backpack/vest/melee/whatever clips through the floor when your character lies down.
  16. lelmat132

    Suggestion: Sleeping When Logged Out

The concept of sleeping in a game is stupid. You don't even get to see the fucking animation (and resting is just sitting for a few minutes), and when your character is stuck in the game for a while, he could have his shit stolen or something. And what's the fucking point of sleep? You log out, your character plonks his face on the floor, lies there for two minutes, then disappears? Then what? When you log in you gain some certain buffs? "oh look at me i can run faster than you because i got sleep haha". And what if your character doesn't get sleep? What happens then? You login without your buffs? I meant eating and drinking lots in the way to get energised..
  17. lelmat132

    Suggestion: Sleeping When Logged Out

Well, I don't see a rust style sleep system being of any use before base building/barricading comes along.
  18. lelmat132

    Suggestion: Sleeping When Logged Out

Not really. Here's the current situation on Rust: So you spend a few hours fully gearing out your character, but now you have to leave for your vacation and cannot access a computer. When you come back, your character is dead, and you have to start out fresh. We don't need that exact same thing happening in DayZ. It would force you to come back on every few days to check up on your guy and make sure that he's not starving in his sleep (the duration you are logged out). You want to go on a spree and pull an all nighter playing DayZ? Oh, too bad, your character needs sleep, better spend those few hours you wanted to keep playing doing something else! Also, the game is brutal enough. Not everyone's a veteran that finds the game way too easy. There are still noobs and casuals, too, who may not know what to do or may not play the game enough to get some real progression going. EDIT: Yes, I know what I'm saying contradicts the video that you posted, but realise this: I'm not trying to make the game easier, I'm just saying that sleeping is a useless mechanic that's totally not REQUIRED. It could give BENEFITS to those who chose to do it, but it should not be something that if you don't have, you'll die.
  19. lelmat132

    Suggestion: Sleeping When Logged Out

But sleeping is a stupid concept. It shouldn't be NEEDED because IT'S JUST A GAME, it should only give benefits to those who decide to sleep, and no benefits to those who chose to log out normally. Yeah, it's survival, but still, does the game have to get that overly complex? Resting will not be needed, even with stamina. Just make it so you have to be well fed and well hydrated in order to get stamina back. Sleeping is not needed. And you don't need that extra few minutes in game, sitting there, totally unable to defend your character. Combatloggers will be combatloggers and serverhoppers will be serverhoppers. People find the easiest way to gear up/stay geared, then they do that. It's human nature to find the shortcut. If you let someone live long enough in an encounter to combat log then maybe you shouldn't be killing people..
  20. lelmat132

    Suggestion: Sleeping When Logged Out

As I said, what's the point? It's only adding another burden and it's NOT NEEDED AT ALL. If it was included, best it should be is sleeping gives you benefits but is not required. It's a GAME, in games you do not need the same necessities as a normal human. Oh, our characters need sleep? Might as well make it so you can't infinitely sprint to get around the map quicker, or you pass out for carrying full gear for too long, or so that you can't respawn, ever.
  21. lelmat132

    Suggestion: Sleeping When Logged Out

Nope. This game is realistic enough, we don't need to add sleeping ontop of everything else. I would only agree if sleeping WASN'T NEEDED, but GAVE BENEFITS to people who slept. I would prefer not to get looted in my sleep, as gearing up can be time consuming.

DayZ Backstory: How the Infection Began

I honestly think that the virus started in Russia. (not chernarus) Maybe Chernarus was trying to fight off the infected and called for UN/US help, but even with help they eventually got overrun which is why you can find UN/US equipment scattered around.
  23. lelmat132

    Women Clothes

    Eh.
  24. lelmat132

    Nuclear area

Nope. Definite nope. Nuclear power plants are very expensive to maintain. With this current layout, it's not going to work. You either put it on the coast and have a nuclear power plant being waaay too close to coastal towns, or you put it in the middle and have half the map inaccessible without a suit (which would probably spawn in military areas, which, with the exception of one or two, would be covered in radiation. People would fight, and nobody would get the big loot apart from people lucky enough to get a suit and leave before they die. Even if the person who does find the suit survive the massive killfest, they would probably be murdered upon getting to the big loot zones from people that got there before them.) And besides, it doesn't fit with the atmosphere at all, and it would become another Fallout/S.T.A.L.K.E.R/Metro type games.

Gameplay Mechanics Pt4 - The Weapons

Don't agree with firearm components. That just makes the game too complicated. Are we playing a survival game, or "World of Guns: Gun (re)disassembly"? Also, don't agree with removing coupled mags -- They're more survivory, and look less.. "odd" than a 40 round. I know I would never pick up a 40 unless I had no other ammo, because it looks so stupidly large, more like an oversized banana magazine than a NATO style magazine. Would be better if the 40 round looked somewhat like a standard NATO mag, but made wider to accompany for 10 more bullets. (something like this: http://swinoz.info/trigger/main/Surefire-Ar-15-M16-60-100-Round-Magazines-Surefire-60-Rd-Magazine.html ) (yes, I know that's a 60 round magazine, but would be nice to have as the model for a 40 round instead of a NATO banana magazine.)
