here it is: http://forums.dayzgame.com/index.php?/topic/141731-dayz-standalone-community-radio-station-applications-now-open/ did anything ever come of that?
-
wasn't there talk of ingame radios?

what the process for purifying water anyway? put fill your canteen, and put the tabs in there? can we boil water with the gas burner and pot?

Differences of realism as IRL and game. (M4 Accuracy)

personally I have't had trouble at short ranges. and the difficulty of hitting a long range shot is one of the things I like about this game I recently played through Far Cry 2, and it's 'point and click' shooting was so bad it was almost unintuitive. it was like I had to unlearn everything I know about leading a shot and bullet drop -
I like the system, but like much in the game, it needs some tweeking

pretty sure it would literally take longer than one second do you have experience with the shooting mechanics in Arma games? -
the game doesn't support xinput (afaik), so you would probably have to bind the buttons to certain keys outside of the game (left stick to WASD, right stick to mouse, etc) with 3rd party software but I'm just guessing...

find a well and drink a lot. then find something to open cans and eat a lot. (IMO) at the moment, dealing with your initial thirst and hunger should be your first priority

I have. first thing I did with it was try to shoot a zombie that looked to be around 300 meters away. it took me a moment to realize that "100" in the top-right was zeroing (the UI fades out and leave that number for some reason), and it could be adjusted do you have a lot of experience with the shooting mechanics in Arma games? -

I'll point out that bullet drop is a major factor in this game, and the m4's have zeroing -
if you don't have the charcoal pills, it just takes time. drink water, get some rest (don't sprint everywhere), and don't eat any rotten food
-
you lose around 25% of the food when you open cans with something other than the can opener
-
the antibiotics do help with wounds. it even says something about them "hurting less" when you use it I think the 'charcoal pills' are for food poisoning

Is Arma Engine not AMD processor friendly ?

aren't the Arma games and DayZ all 32 bit? -
Why do we already have so many 24/7 daylight servers?
daze23 replied to Gingerizhere's topic in General Discussion
aren't they all technically 'official' since they use the main hive? -
there was an increase, but not as much as people would have liked
-
there's just no other game like Arma though. it's the go to response for this kind of thing, but it is what it is. none of those other engines really provide the level of simulation Arma does. that's the main reason I'm not particularly interested in any of the 'DayZ clones' out there

I'm not sure that's fair. for obvious reasons (that have nothing to do with consoles or any conspiracy) Microsoft does not look at the PC as a pure gaming platform. you can't run MS Excel on a PS4 that is what Valve is trying to do with their OS. but they are looking at the PC as a pure gaming platform -
the masks seem kind of silly, but whatever. I assume the helmets provide you with some kind of defense, or at least they should eventually

you should always wipe to keep your booty clean

pretty sure we're talking about cpu's, since the OP said he has an nvidia gpu -

well almost any benchmark will show you that intel cpu's tend to perform better. it doesn't matter in most games, because they're not so cpu dependent -

I guess that's why rocket likes to use the word "authentic" and not "realistic". I think we can still strive for more realism I'd like to see the nights look more like Arma 3, but i think much of that has to do with dx11 -

aren't there plenty of games with unrealistically lit up nights though? why can't we want something more realistic in this 'game'
