well I think they're trying to fix that also, by making it so the zeds run fast indoors as well. granted you might still be able to use buildings to lose them, but I don't think you're gonna be able to run into a long barn with a posse of zeds and the walk out the other side with none that being said I have no problem spawning without a gun

So long as they don't clip through walls' date=' have a big detection box, fall through floors etc. [/quote'] that's pretty much what I was thinking. there better not be some way to hide them under the floor or some crap

think its a beta update ongoing It is. This: [94206] Fixed: Disabled channels can be bypassed in briefing screen (https://dev-heaven.net/issues/33906) I have absolutely no idea what it means though. Did we win? if you like side chat it means you lost. basically they closed the loop-hole that was allowing some servers to still use side chat they should be easy enough to spot if you're already looking for loot I just wanna see what it's all about before I start complaining too much

1.7.1 came out at like 1am central time. I'm not saying that's when this one will come out, just that the time doesn't seem important

Actually' date=' I think most deerstands and barns are razorwired in solid by now. On some servers I feel like the entire map is covered in razorwire, three deep from border to border. Hopefully the bear traps will be easy to set off without dying (which is what happens if you break a leg without morphine atm). [/quote'] It must depend on the server, because I haven't seen one set of barbed wire that wasn't at the NWAF. nah, there's a lot of barbed wire around. pretty much every fire-house. but I've never seen it around a deer stand

Better yet, triggerable with thrown objects. And why is everyone complaining about bear traps? They're like zombies that don't move. You see them, you avoid them, you don't stomp all over them. The same exact rules for zombies apply for bear traps, cept that bear traps won't try to devour your flesh. When you get chased by zeds and realize 90% of buildings have them in front of the door, you will realise why we dislike this idea. that's what I worry about. I guess we'll see how it works out... http://qkme.me/3pvx7d

Do you also consider offline maps an exploit? Loot chance tables? Chance and conditions for getting an infection? There is nothing wrong with wanting to understand the mechanics of the game you're playing. It's what makes people good at them. It sounds like you want to handicap yourself to preserve some sense of mystery of something. Anyway' date=' someone who knows more about scripting than me should pop open the .pbos and answer this for us. [/quote'] I wouldn't call offline maps an "exploit", but IMO it is a form of "cheating". that being said, I use an offline map, but I don't lie to myself about what I'm doing clearing out all the items, dumping them on the ground outside, and waiting for them to respawn just seems like a little much. do whatever you want, but that's just how I feel about it

you're not gonna be happy with that video card the best thing is to build your own from scratch. it's not that hard. the next best thing would to buy a cheap (but decent) computer with no video card, and then put a decent video card in it. but you have to make sure the PSU (power source) can handle it

how so?

how to switch off the thermal vision on the L8 weapon?
daze23 replied to stanislavik01's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I imagine you wouldn't be able to switch it off IRL. by "off" I mean use it as a 'normal' scope -
that's actually kind of cool and I imagine the intended use. I wouldn't mind either if people actually used it to fortify a building while they're in it. but in that case they should remove it when they leave. in fact they should have to remove to get back out, since it would be blocking them in. but we all know that's not what's going on...

Sounds like paranoia... Thanks for the decent answers =) paranoia? I stand by what I said. it is an exploit' date=' just like server hopping [/quote'] it is an exploit if you literately go somewhere and do these constantly and never explore the rest of the map however if the loot didn't respawn in such a way then it would be such a pain to try and get ammo for guns or food or water + there is always the chance while you're waiting for the loot to respawn a player shoots you in the back I agree, and I understand why the loot respawns

try stepping over barbed wire IRL and see wut happens actually it's pretty easy. especially if it were in a coil like in the game. you just (carefully) walk between the coils. sure if it's on top of a fence it provides a bigger challenge. but a coil of barbed wire on the ground, not so much

My friend encountered 3 server hoppers in 5 minutes

What. I don't even... well obviously this is not the way you're 'supposed' to play the game. it's an exploit

sounds like you wanna cheat...

Too many watches, not enough compasses
daze23 replied to highwaystar's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
well lets face it, the compass is way more useful, so it's harder to find. and the GPS is even more useful, so it's even rarer it's seems many people on this forum like to appeal to some "IRL" argument in an attempt to make the game easier -
has anyone else noticed this. if you're playing around 7-8pm (in game time) it might get very dark all of a sudden if you look a certain direction. then it gets 'stuck' at that level of darkness. but if you disconnect and reconnect to the same server, it will get bright again, and repeat the same cycle.
