I don't know what this logic is that says that if something is not easily preventable, it's not an exploit/cheating -

I looked around on the BIS forums. pretty much all the new threads were about DayZ, and I didn't see anything about the weapons. the Arma 2 forums on steam as well -

I think we all agree you can't prevent it. but I still think having other options ingame, like a radio or cell phone, could lessen it's use. ideally the ingame option would be somehow superior, but I'm not sure exactly how to do that -
that's my issue with it. the way the zeds zig zag around, it's hard to get a shot until they get close. and then you're taking damage while shooting them 3-4 times. I had a couple encounters like that today. it didn't seem so bad, until I realized I lost like 6000 blood

even if the first shot doesn't kill the person, they can still get knocked unconscious, broken leg, pain shaking, etc, from that one shot and it is all about smart behavior. get you binoculars out and scope out the sniper spots. move from cover to cover. don't go into dangerous areas without a decent weapon (apparently now that means not a pistol). if you see someone (and they don't see you), avoid them, or get into a good position to get the shot. I made that mistake a lot in the beginning. I would see someone, "OMG a player", start shooting, miss, and have them kill me. I learned to not rush the shot, and to make it count. and if the shot's not there, don't take it

idk, there was someone in one of these threads saying he was playing with an un-patched friend that was one shotting zeds, but it took him 3-4 shots (they were together on the same server). but I take these stories with a grain of salt. people might be getting headshots, be mistaken, or just full of crap

it doesn't work like that. I'm sure a lot of us had "pre-patch" guns. I know I did, and then it took 3 shots to put down a zed you probably didn't get the update. do you update through Steam?

the gun in game is the ak74. it uses a smaller round than an ak47. I think the ak47 is similar to the AKM, and that was not nurfed

private servers are against the rules, and that has nothing to do with this topic -
not too many people are complaining about how it effects pvp. plus all the snipers and US AR's weren't effected

it's not particularly realistic. plus it begs the question how you aim them and ADS my issues are with the way the zeds spawn. like a few people have mentioned, I don't like how they spawn around me. sometimes I make it into an area, sneaking by a few zeds, and then all of a sudden there's zeds everywhere. not being able to 'clear out' an area also ruin the immersion for me. I also don't like way the way I can know if there's a player in an area by looking for zeds -

War Z uses the photoshop engine. it's way better optimized then Real Virtuality

it will know if you were kicked for ping and not hold that against you stop with all the "banned" talk. there will be warnings and maybe other punishment first

what areas? people will still be able to suicide by zombies, but you won't see: daze23 was killed daze23 was killed daze23 was killed daze23 was killed daze23 was killed daze23 was killed daze23 was killed all that character creation lags the hive server. it's probably part of the reason why 'loading' sometimes takes so long just wait to see what the patch is all about. if it's a disaster, they'll change it. maybe they could set up some online process to kill your player. just make it a tedious enough process that people won't want to do it alot

yep, can't snipe from 1200 meters anymore. the game is ruined and there's no reason to play anymore War Z promised me 100,000 meter view distance. take that rocket man!

yeah, but we're this post-apocalyptic situation, so that should be an item you have to find plus the specific scenario he laid out dealt with a dead player talking to his friends. I don't think they have head sets that word like that -

it's not preventable, but they could offer better alternatives ingame. I know rocket has talked about radios. I think that would be cool. and I think direct chat could work a little better -

the problem with that is it's not your own character. sure you can hijack someone else character, but then they take it right back when they play. I imagine that could lead to some funny shenanigans, but ultimately you're not gonna be able to build your character
