lol, yeah I know but this all kinda comes full circle with how it relates to the removal of the respawn button. if you don't want to get spawned in the middle of nowhere, you need to try not to die. and vice versa. if you engage in risky play and die a lot, you're gonna be spawned in the middle of nowhere a lot do your thing, but after you make your bed you have to lay in it
-
the best spawn IMO you can hit 5 deer stands and a high value barn before even getting to civilization in Zelen. and there there's a super market and other residential spawns. I usually have a nice kit after all that these dude wanna chase each other around Cherno with axes
-
these dudes just love to prop up these convenient excuses "b-b-but I was only using the infinite ammo exploit because of the gun nerf" "b-b-but I only alt-f4 because of hackers" it's most likely a bunch of BS. and if it's not, it's a very slippery slope where you can easily find your self cheating more and more. you know these things are wrong, so don't do them, period. the fact you even know how to do these things is very telling...

it seems to be specifically related to the steam patch. it was a large download that replaced files in arma 2 and arma 2 oa. it's conceivable that is did more than just replace the exe files have you tried 95417 to see if it nurfs your guns? it's something they need to consider moving forward towards a 'fix'. otherwise a 'fix' that buffs the weapons would give those unaffected by the nerf super-guns a lot of those beta patches were considered 1.61 btw
-
well your typo was the source of confusion. no offense but how am I supposed to figure out what 5 digit number you were trying to type and you're all over the place with the periods and extra zeros it's 1.62.95389. I think to be technical it's 1.62.95.389
-
in your previous post you said you were using 93593
-
headshots or wait for a fix
-
Use Beta patch 95389 or above - rocket edit: and I don't know what version you're using. you say 93593, but as far as I know even the 1.61 betas were 94xxx
-
the revolver and 1911 have less than a third of their original strength
-
yeah, but you put yourself in a position where you shouldn't be complaining about anything, since you're not using the correct versions
-
that doesn't change the fact there's groups out there sitting on tons of duped items. obviously the duping issues need to fixed as well hold on... I've seen your name before... http://dayzmod.com/forum/index.php?/topic/49863-the-game-is-now-un-playable/page__st__20#entry480629

you're probably right. but I can only imagine the shit-storm that would ensue when people lose all their duped... er I mean hard earned stuff
-
first of all, everyone should do the first 'bootcamp' mission in Arma 2. this is a mod for Arma 2, so originally it was assumed people playing it know the mechanics of that game. I think that accounts for a lot of the perceived 'learning curve' in DayZ

well I'll point out that he could be mistaken of full of crap (perhaps embarrassed he didn't know how the chat works, or maybe just upset he ended up dead) I'm not trying to say anything conclusive, but you should always consider these things.
-
meh, those kind of things tend to rely on low probabilities. I'm sure we can all think of scenarios where someone could stop a zombie with a hunting knife, but IRL you probably wouldn't want to take the chance getting so close to the zombie. let alone more than one zombie
-
he could have been on the wrong channel. they should just disable the group and vehicle channels so there's no confusion
-
there's a lot of this mentality going around. it seems it's basically: "I cheat because I can and it's up to rocket to stop me" I understand that we're supposed to be helping by finding and reporting these exploits, but if you continue to use them for your benefit, that is what it is... cheating!
-
of course infinite ammo is an exploit. I really don't understand the mentality where people seem like they can't figure out what cheating is and isn't someone said there was nothing wrong with it because "everyone knows about it". this thinking just boggles my mind. people really convince themselves that cheating is OK
-
idk, I don't think a hunting knife would be particularly good against zeds. the hatchet and crowbar make sense because they're heavy enough to knock a zombie back and long enough to give you some breathing room. if anything a knife would be pretty weak and probably not too useful
-
first you have to put everything from your current backpack into the new backpack, then pick up the new backpack I lost my stuff like that before. I had my morphine in the backpack, lost it changing backpacks, and then immediately got my leg broken. it felt like Murphy's Law...
-
it wasn't intended for DayZ and rocket's looking into to how to fix it
-
just stay away from the affected areas

notice how in the first 'lobby' everyone is on the blue team, but there's other empty teams. the group channel actually works in the lobby (or at least it did). but it seems it's disabled once DayZ starts up -

the beacon being on the map makes gps a novelty I think it's only supposed to be on recruit servers, but many regular servers have it on. I kinda wish they were more strict with the difficulties. they just become meaningless when everyone uses custom settings -
Close calls/"I shouldn't be alive" moments?
daze23 replied to garglemouth64@yahoo.com's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
lol, I hate when I lean too hard on the left mouse button. I haven't scared myself like that, but I've definitely ruined some stealthy moments my 'I shouldn't be alive' moment was my first bandit kill. I was up north, pretty much in the middle on nowhere, when I got shot from the back. I got prone right away and turned around, but couldn't see shit (I was playing 1st person). I guess he went prone too, but he had zeds chasing him, and I could see more or less where they were standing around him. we had quite an exchange, and I got hit again. I was kinda noob status at this point, and tried to bandage myself while prone. of course I got up into crouch. I thought it was over for me for sure now. I moved and canceled the bandaging, then I saw him trying to crawl away from the zeds that were hitting him. I quickly shot him up with my kobra, took care of the zeds, and bandaged up. I think I escaped with around 2k blood... and my first bandit kill what he did was so stupid. we really were in the middle of nowhere, so he must have been running for awhile with those zeds behind him. anyway it was a lesson to me to always check my six no matter where you are
