immersion breaking like players communicating via telepathy
-
those people would be revealing their position
-
I can be "competitive", but I prefer to win because I played the game better. not because I knowingly used an unfair advantage. not sure what there is to "win" in this game, but that's another story...
-
that is the purpose and advantage of having a sniper rifle and long range scope. and it's still conceivable a player could spot the sniper with binocs or whatever
-
not too many "competitive multiplayer" games are third person. at least not of the 'shooter' variety to be clear, I'm talking about MLG and other organized matches. they're usually pretty picky about using certain rule sets that don't allow for these kinds of exploits
-
sounds better than FFA central :)
-
would any of this change for you if we were talking about a game, like Spades (card game), where communicating with your partner is definitely against the rules?
-
at least someone said it
-
so you have headphones over a earbud and two mics?
-
what would the 'other side' have to adapt to exactly? most of us do play on servers that allow 3rd person
-
that's a good example. rolling like that in 1st person is quite disorienting, as your view rotates around. in 3rd person it's just and extra quick side strafe not to mention the usual issue of being able to see over the grass and that wall
-
I remember how things went with side chat. rocket removed it, but eventually it became very difficult to find a server without it
-
I'd rather be able to live, by being vigilant, and observing my surroundings
-
we've had many indications that we will be getting ingame radios
-
fortunately I'm on the other side of the pond where our 12 y/o's only have sex with my mother ;)
-
huh? the source is the mic
-
I had a 360. I really liked things better before Party Chat
-
that's about the xbox one and kinect (it's also from last may, before they changed that always online and kinect stuff) I'm pretty sure he was referring to the fact the consoles have a headset that has an open mic
-
that's like saying you shouldn't lock the doors to your car, because someone can still break the window. the point is you can take steps to prevent things, even if they won't work 100% of the time although i agree it could be a burden on the network
-
if it were illegal, Sony and Microsoft probably wouldn't have open mics on their consoles
-
do you use a separate mic for ingame chat?
-
it's a lopsided situation where one person has a huge advantage. the 'other person' could do the same thing to other people
-
no
-
it's not just on a roof. it could be around any corner or wall. even a bush or a rock. you can see around cover
-
how would that even help in that situation? you don't know they're there, but they can watch your every move
