it's my understanding that DayZ uses a version of the Chernarus map that is for one of the DLC's. that's where all the dead soldiers, burnt up cars, and hum-v's come from. I imagine it wouldn't be hard to just use the 'vanilla' Chernarus map, but you would lose a lot of atmosphere
-
but what does that have to do with 1.7.2.5? what specific bugs are you talking about? it uses private hives, so that's probably a lot of it. no dead soldiers, so no artifacts. smaller map probably helps with performance. less hackers because there's less players but none of that has anything to do with 1.7.2.5
-
does that statement have anything to do with the 1.7.2.5 update?
-
yes, but it's been clearly established that these 'fixes' don't work for everyone. it's just frustrating dealing with this for weeks and then someone says, "oh, you just have to switch your vid memory to default". like I said, we've beaten this horse to death not saying any of this is you personally, but there's been a lot of condescending crap coming from people that are lucky enough to be able to work around the issue. there's also been some wacky 'fixes' suggested that I'm sure has caused people to waste time doing things like reformatting their HDD and re-installing their OS (sounds crazy, but I'm sure someone has done it) I had the feeling someone would try to use that against me. that's why I first said "I... agree these issues need to be fixed". also in that case the 'work around' actually works. and it has to do with the mechanics of the game, not with settings
-
it's just that we pretty much beat that horse to death when the artifacts first popped up with .4
-
it's a problem when you drop anything with the tent you have to put everything from your current backpack in the tent, or on the ground first I understand and agree these issues need to be fixed, but there are ways to avoid them if you do things a certain way
-
mine are, and I still get artifacts it just gets to the point where I have to point out that you should not be getting artifacts, regardless of your settings. it needs to be 'fixed', and not just avoided by some 'work-around'
-
it worked for me it seems people have 'random bugs' regardless of how they update. but I had no problem bandaging
-
-open the new backpack -put everything from your current backpack in the new backpack -then pick up the new backpack
-
"Play with SIX" supports the new update http://play.withsix.com/
-
that's bullshit. before I got this game, I watched a bunch of videos about the mod, and pretty much every one mentioned it was unstable and still in the 'alpha' phase
-
not to mention once you get by Zelen you're in prime crashed helicopter territory
-
I'm assuming you restarted the game when you "came back a few hours later". restarting the game is the 'fix' that works for most people
-
they should just roll out the patch on SU people are getting artifacts either way. and so many servers have updated
-
SU is still using 1.7.2.4 if you want to play 1.7.2.5, you're probably going to have to bypass using SU
-
it's still using 1.7.2.4 probably because 1.7.2.5 hasn't been confirmed to fix the artifacts issue
-
for most people the artifacts appear after playing for awhile. so just jumping to different servers isn't a good test
-
SU is still using 1.7.2.4 the update you saw was it updating the Arma beta
-
SU isn't updating to 1.7.2.5 yet
-
I think as of now, the SU only updates the beta patch, and not this DayZ update
-
everything I'm about to say deals with my prior experience. I have not tested this patch: the thing with the artifacts is they usually take time to show up. if I spawned near an area with them, I usually don't have them at all in that area. if I spawned somewhere else, and slowly made my way to an affected area, they would pop up it seems it's gonna be hard to test if they're still there without playing for like 1hr+ on the same server, and visiting a few affected areas

how do you display your GPU temp/load and fps like that?

determining how close gun shots are to hitting you?

yeah, that cracking/snapping sound means they're headed in your direction. I've also heard them 'wiz' by me. of course seeing bullets hit the dirt right by you is usually a sure sign someone's shooting at you :) -
you still have a temperature icon that changes color and blinks when it gets low enough

Just encountered my first beach camper.
