the simple idea is that it's gone the 'AWS' isn't even a real sight
-
no, people only use it to hunt rabbits at night <_<

sounds like some herp-derp statistics. it's hard to imagine someone keeping track of this since May if you play regularly. and ultimately your experience is anecdotal. if you've been lucky, then you've been lucky, but that doesn't mean other haven't been 'unlucky' oh I see, you only use the L85 to scan for pigs and rabbits <_< obviously the L85 is very useful, and gives an individual or squad an advantage. that's why it was removed. rocket decided to put it in the game, and then he decided to take it out. if you've been playing since May, then no doubt you remember the shit-storm when he removed the starting makarov. but never the less, life and DayZ went on...

you're co-signing him saying "we just kick 'em"? (assuming "kick" means the admin kicks them. maybe he meant something else [kill?], but for now I can only assume that the term "kick" refers to the admin kicking them from the server) edit: apparently that's not what he meant
-
again, I'm not sure how you could know that. those scripts that say who killed who with what are fairly recent edit: and if you just play on some private server where you kick snipers off hills... yeah... I mean if you don't play regularly on hive servers with the general population, don't doubt on the experiences of those that do

spotting isn't irrelevant if that's one of the reasons it was deemed 'overpowered' and if you only play on servers that let you know who killed who with what weapon (and it's been my experience that those scripts don't work 100% of the time), I'll just say that your experience with the game is rather limited. no offense, but your claim of only being killed once by the weapon doesn't mean much if you've only been playing for a couple months, on what sounds like a private hive

wut? stop watching alex jones videos
-
slippery slope fallacy they removed the L85 and that's it
-
how could you know this? or better yet, how could you know how many times you were spotted with it?

the new maps are cool

it seems the "it's the new spawn's fault" defense (that so many Sacriel defenders gave beans to) is in stark contrast to Sacriel's own defense on this matter
-
actually the server I play on announced lastnight that the gun is now on the banned weapons list, and to drop it if you have one. it makes sense, otherwise scripters will just hack them in obviously not every server does that, but at the same time I'm sure plenty will do something similar

rocket still has the final say. for that matter people are free to make their own mods of the mod (yo dawg...), and they have, but the official 'dayz mod' is still rocket's baby
-
Bohemia already has a store that accepts those, so I wouldn't worry https://store.bistudio.com/

now I see

they sell a physical game box that basically just contains a code to redeem on steam. I agree it's silly, but he's right that sometimes they're dirt cheap (cheaper than directly from steam) to answer his question, I'm not sure if steam will get involved with this 'minecraft model' thing. I'm sure they'd be glad to host the finished product. but I'm not sure if they want to get involved in charging for an unfinished product. they might not want to be the middle man if people start demanding refunds or whatever. I really don't know though...

Dayz koS would be rife irl if there was an apocalypse
daze23 replied to jaytmuk (DayZ)'s topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
what story are you trying to link to? the point is there are natural disasters in modern times, where things can get rather 'apocalyptic', but never the less we don't see the majority of people killing each other on sight. there's always bad apples. there's bad apples when there's no disaster -
I think Chernarus still has the best loot balance. there's only 2 barracks, and they're far from where anyone spawns Namalsk introduces some interesting survival elements, but it's pvp focus means you probably will never be able to think about any sort of long-term survival. I mean, I don't see too many people setting up camps and whatnot on Namalsk. "survival" tends to mean having pain-killers and heat-packs to keep you from shaking in the next fire-fight...

the thing is a can of beans is a finite resource. another human is not. among other things, an individual will be at a disadvantage compared to those that do choose to coorporate -
I get the feeling no matter how many disclaimers and whatnot they put up, there's gonna be a bunch of people demanding their money back

Why I quit (yes another one of those threads)
daze23 replied to cloudsystem38's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
shame on you guys for playing on private hives, and not supplying any data for the devs. it's no wonder this mod never made it out of alpha /trollface.jpg -
I was gonna make a comment about the sewers and running water, but then I remembered some houses in Chernarus have an outhouse and a well that needs to be pumped by hand :/
-
the zombies are only a factor cause they use them to find other players that's why I was saying there's gonna be a great divide if the stand-alone is really this in-depth survival game, and not a big pvp playground. like it or not, a huge part of the success of the mod has come from the pvp aspects. I mean, look at how many people here see nothing wrong with shooting an unarmed player. you can say its water under the bridge, or whatever, but that was the topic of many debates on this message board

come on. yall know if you're a fresh spawn, with no binocs, sniper rifle, etc, there's very little chance you'll be able to see a ghillie sniper prone under a tree 600m away it's like sitting up on the hill east of Kamenka with a sniper rifle, shooting new-spawns, and then saying it's their fault for spawning there. I'm not saying that's what Sacriel and crew do, just replying to this logic that somehow it's the new-spawns fault for spawning, and looking for a weapon in a nearby building. while they're against a squad that may be fairly spread out and hidden, with range finders, acogs, snipers, teamspeak, etc
