  1. the first game was buggy (I love the game, but I can't call it a "masterpiece" when it has missions that don't work right, and they never managed to fix them either). and it was eventually ported to the consoles. they had to gimp the fuck out of it by removing trees and such
  2. the game is being developed for the PC without consoles in mind. any 'console port' would be handled after the fact (like the first Crysis)
  3. you have to pay attention to the context these things were said. Rocket was asked if he thought it would be out before April. he didn't just offer that date
  4. that person asked him if the SA was out yet. Rocket was just letting him know it's not ready yet. I wouldn't ready further into it than that...
  5. stop trying to trick us into going to Green Mountain we all know what's there *shivers*
  6. because the 3rd party programs do too much and break the immersion I mean if we could trust people to use them sparingly, then it wouldn't be as much of an issue. but I think we know that's not gonna happen
  7. why don't people understand that some of us would prefer a more immersive in-game system?
  8. yeah, but to be fair I can recognize people I know 'in real life' way easier than in game. I definitely don't tell my friends in real life to lean left and right so I know it's them :P Jack Frags talked about more customization and/or a 'handshake' system:

Ivan & Martin Free on bail

great news I'm surprised they were also allowed to leave Greece
  10. you must have been pretty sober playing that game :P
  11. actually your name would make a good brandname for a cookie, candy bar, or cereal
  12. calling it "cheating" may seem like hyperbole, but I'd rather not mince words. it gives you an obvious advantage. the game has an in-game chat system that Rocket purposely nerfed (removing side chat). he blames himself for not giving people other group communication options (there was a lot of talk about the possibility of radios/cell phones), but I think it's clear that restricting it to 'direct chat' was because he didn't want people to just be able to magically communicate over large distances but I understand a lot of this might seem like a foreign concept, given the current state of private servers with side chat enabled and a "join our teamspeak" message
  13. maybe some people don't want to cheat with 3rd party software ;)
  14. I do the mouse & keyboard on the sofa. the keyboard on my lap, and the mouse (and mouse-pad) on a thin hardcover book next to me
  15. yep, I was thinking about more animals when they were talking about how they could use the performance improvements
  16. forum members with over... (checks profile) 350 beans should get SA free :P
  17. does he want a cookie for being a bandit?

well isn't that idea of the "minecraft model"? (not to mention, I don't think the 18 euro price is set in stone yet)

I don't think so, but I see what you're getting at...

apparently that is the "heavily discounted price in alpha stages"
  21. they really pay 59 euros on that side of the pond?
  22. for US consumers (yeah, I know...), you kinda cross an imaginary line when you go over $20 (usd). you can scoff at that if you want, but I'm sure the number crunchers have plenty of data on that personally I think the standalone has something to prove to justify it's price. it has to prove it's a much 'better' product than the mod
  23. you don't notice a 'pickpocket' because they take something that doesn't weight a lot in the first place (wallet, cash, etc). you're gonna notice if someone removes an assault rifle from your backpack
  24. VAC has had issues with overlays and whatnot, but I think that's all in the past
  25. they actually blew the whole animation budget mo-capping pooping :P
