Need motivation to play 3p view servers

And sexy! -
If you have a 75 rounds drum for AKM...

What a boss. -
I magically broke my legs. Guess where.

Yeah happens to me up there too. Only on the second floor though. -
Commie blocks = apartments?
-
Yeah I'm still trying to find one :(
-
They are a necessary evil.
-
Maybe we can get a dev in here to ask about bi pods. Everything else we've talked about in here at least one person has come in saying they've found it. Bi pods seem universally absent. Be nice to know if they're off the loot table for now.

Tents are found in what...chicken coops and apartments only?

Need motivation to play 3p view servers

It's a shame 1st person isn't more popular. I find it more fun to play form a survival aspect. It provides much more realistic interactions with people but alas, the community has chosen 3PP since it's "easier" to play. -
Also what about tents? Are they only in the chicken coops now?

Anyone getting bored of Standalone?

Seriously....these guys are such cry babies now. -
Well the weapon light is pointless because the loot system is such that the servers have to reset often to get it to respawn and the game state is pvp all day every day so it's just alwasy day outside. I'm really excited for when the game is ready to be played in a full day cycle, with night and day gameplay and respawning loot. So that playing for 4-5 or 6+ hours doesn't mean server hopping for loot.

Man it must have been really hard to get to this point: https://www.google.com/webhp?tab=ww&ei=AmA9VJOPKoWuyQSU84FA&ved=0CAkQ1S4#q=dean+hall+quits+dayz I did not pay attention to the dates on some of these instances which I apologize for. But my inference is solid nonethless. It wasn't last month, it was in the spring. Same time Dean announced he was leaving. Make your own conclusions and do your own work. I did mine. My conclusion is solid.

Yes I used to Vest-ception, carry 2 guns etc. Then I realized that this game is not that in depth yet that this would be necessary. So I stopped.

DayZ SA is COD: Chernarus. Newsflash. Only thing in this game is PvP deathmatch right now. Sure you can go put a tent out in the woods. Yes you can try to be a "bandit", and hold people up for stuff but what do you need to hold them up for? Food? It is EVERYWHERE. Guns? Mosin and SkS are the "lower-tier" guns but they kill just as fast as ak's and m4's. "Supplies"??? Healthy status makes iv/blood bagging irrelevant unless you are ALMOST dead which in most cases barely happens in SA. It's like the one poster said, the current state of SA is such that KoS'ing and fight first talk later is now a habit. in 90% of your interactions with other players from now on you will ask them to do something and their immediate reaction will be to try and kill you, run away to safety then try and kill you, or pretend to comply then try and kill you. Fresh spawns ALMOST always punch even if you try and help them. And anyone who has decent gear will pull their gun up even if you tell them not to. This guy said it best. Current game-state doesn't have room for the titles bandit/hero.

Speculation about "coming" loot system(s)?
Grundlesmuggler replied to Zeppa's topic in General Discussion
I'm not sure I understand how these private ones work. You are saying that once private servers are available people with host their own and just farm loot on their own server? How then do they interact with other people? If the loot is available on their server wouldn't they have to go to a public server to loot? I haven't really done research on the private vs public server thing yet. -
Seems odd since if you are speed hacking, why aren't you just hacking in an m4 already?
-
This is more what I figured. I've had a buddy find a pso-1 in barracks and a folding stock, which seem to be the rarest of the non m4 attachments only once. But never a bipod.
-
Type in Dean Hall quits DayZ in google. I read about 9 articles on it, can't be sure which ones I did and didn't because they contained most of the same information. He said that he hadn't "planned" on doing it this year. Given that they didn't increase the size of the dev team until last month, and that he admittedly butt heads with his bosses and called himself a detriment to the project, I made my own inference about why. Read the articles, then come back and source them for me. Thanks.

Can we get some love on the bipods part of the question. Has anyone seen these anywhere after .49? Barracks only? Chopper only?
-
So I haven't found much. M4 attachments are obviously only at heli crash sites. The long range and PO scope seem to be the most common being in higher end residential, industrial, and military places. The PSO-1 plus the other attachments seem MUCH rarer and ONLY at military spawns...which currently are only barracks it seems like. The tents have been reduced to "supply" spawns I think. The "bunkers" though (firing bunkers with sandbag liner) seem to have military loot. The one thing I can't seem to find at all, ever, anywhere is a bipod. Can we confirm this has been moved to heli crashes only, or is it just as rare in barracks as the folding butt stock and the PSO-1 scope?

There we go. Something constructive. So you want players to "wait" for a swing before sidestepping therefore allowing the "reset" you spoke of to happen naturally instead of buggin it by always sidestepping. I understand. An admirable cause to fight for but almost as much of a pipe dream as a revamped melee combat system with updated hit boxes and new zombie AI. I'll just use myself for example. If I want to "follow the rules" I just backstep and swing forward for a headshot, sometimes the lag and positioning is not always on point so I miss due to clipping. This method is 100% effective and not breaking mechanics; however, I figuratively couldn't care less about taking the extra 3 seconds per zombie to make sure I'm dotting all my i's so to speak. So I either just run, or if I want to loot a whole city I round the zombies up and shoot them or circle around them and kill. I do this for efficiency. I already have to run everywhere without a bike (easy to implement) so why am I going to care about the way I kill zombies as long as it isn't a clear violation of the rules. Of all the things the community does I feel like this is pretty low on the totem pole.
-
Pipe dream for sure. Dean is quitting because Bohemia wouldn't see eye to eye with him on direction, focus, and man-power. To think that the devs will fix loot, add more content, bug fix. and then create an entirely new melee combat system is years out if at all. My main point was why are you talking about breaking mechanics though with the tone that it is "wrong" when your proposed fix is a developer issue and not a player issue. Instead of presenting an alternative solution to killing zombies in melee, you are just saying the method they use is an abuse of game mechanics and calling them out for it. What would be a respectable way of meleeing zombies so that these players don't get negatively critiqued by you?
-
Yeah 100+ will be great....once they put the correct amount of loot spawns BACK into the game, and add more content to the northwest part of the map. If they did that right now it would just be a cluster. Unsuccessful in the current game state IMO.
-
Not flaming you, but the phrase "Dean with it" seems to now be a pretty stupid phrase since he is leaving the company due to Bohemia not wanting to go the same direction that he did with DayZ. This pretty much shows us that its "Bohemia with it" and not Dean. Anyway, about the topic. I find this much less annoying that standing still on the second floor of the fire station stairway and breaking my leg. This seems to only happen to me at NWAF, but I could be wrong.
