No sorry. If you get a chance to server hop a barracks somewhere, akm's should be pretty common there.
-
Should have killed the bf, survival of the fittest, she'd have to mate with you as long as you continued to thin the herd of other lions.

YES!!!!! Using new spawns as graffiti boards would be awesome. As long as I have my black backpack of course.

Haven't played in a while

It works for the most part. I don't have problems with zombies other than they need to be immensly reworked. They are fine for their purpose at the moment. -
Handcuffed while logging in, impossible to break out.

This 12 year old...He seems to know how to get ahead in life. This sounds like a "why did the younger intern get the promotion over me" type of story. Head on a swivel man....metaphorically speaking I mean. You should know this geriatric pre-teen is thinking outside the box and should anticipate accordingly. I've had no luck with clans so far in standalone. I'll chalk that up to how limited the gameplay is at the moment. First clan I joined put on a great show the first night we played. Then spent the next two weeks on Arma III. No thanks. Second clan I joined had an egotistical leader who wanted a no rank, casual but organized system; however, if something went wrong he acted like he knew exactly what should have been done every step of the way even though he only spent time 600+ yards away sniping. He also thought it would be a waste of time farming M4's, so when i stopped and grouped with the clan in Cherno we spent 2+ hours punching each other only to get half our group wiped out by a hacker. Obviously a better use of my time then getting geared up or farming tradeable gear for the clan. Basically should have jumped ship after this engagement. Currently using a public communities TS which is "actively recruiting" but only 2 members play DayZ like twice a week. Going to check out =rTr=, but I don't like to play hero 100% of the time. If I feel like KoS'ing someone I would like the people I'm with to understand that sometimes you just have to kill people in order to be ok with running around NOT killing people. -
It's hard to "disagree" with you about this, as well as the other posters about KoS. To address "server hoppers". I feel like people still associate a negative connotation in the Standalone for server hopping. It's not like the mod, where you can cycle loot, or have vehicles to travel around and loot other towns and bases to store loot etc. You are reduced to a 2 hour window to find loot on foot in Chernarus. Most of the time you only get about 40 minutes on a server before it restarts. Not only that but when you finally do find some loot...then what? You kill people until you die and have to find it again. Server hopping is NOT the same thing it used to be, and therefore needs to stop being associated with negatively...at least until looting is changed in the SA. To address "i hate KoS". Pretty much the same argument. The reason why you have less actual banditry at the moment is because the worst repercussion to death at the moment is travel time. Gear is easy to obtain due to the current loot system (see above) and people are less likely to stop and do what you demand of them because there really isn't any point. A few examples: I'm a fresh spawn and you want to hold me up. Uhh are you kidding me? You are about to get knocked out and get your gear taken. If I kill you you deserve it. I'm moderatly geared. Coastline civilian loot. You hold me up. Uhhh are you kidding me? It took me 20 minutes in any coastal city to get this gear. You are about to get shot and get your gear taken. If I kill you you deserve it. I'm fully geared and you try to hold me up. I MIGHT listen depending on where I am on the map; however I should just realize that I can server hop for an hour and be fully geared so uhhhhh are you kidding me? You are about to get shot and get your body hidden because I don't need shit from you. If I kill you you deserve it. Why are the outcomes the same you ask? Well because there really isn't anything else to do but PvP at the moment. So why would I cosplay with you for more than 5 seconds when A: If I die I can gear up fast, B: What can you really do besides put a bag on my head an kill me, fake rape me, or just leave me there. and C: If you try to hold someone up, fail and die, you deserve it. Obviously people have other ways they want to play. That's completely fine. Meet each other, run from town to town. Go fish. Play hide and seek. Do whatever you RP heart desires; however, if the majority of players wanted to do this with you, there would intrinsically be LESS KoS than currently present. Don't lose hope though. Because once the game is further developed and the loot system works, and there is more stuff to do, and the death penalty is larger, and bases exist and just an overall larger experience is available there will automatically be less KoS and more of the traditional Bandit/Hero gameplay.

Haven't played in a while
Grundlesmuggler replied to Baby Jesus (DayZ)'s topic in General Discussion
Uhhh. In what respect. Zombies are still really annoying (design wise). You can still circle strafe them infinitely without getting hit. If you are talking about the problem where you used to axe them and then still get hit after they've died I haven't had that happen in a couple weeks. Apparently you should play experimental That's where the hotness is at? -
Shoulda done that myself...woops.
-
Oh cool. I thought it would wipe my stable guys so I've never tried.
-
Post a picture for me so I can fap
-
If you have any spare 5.56 ammo I'll meet you in the wild and drop the pink bala for it. Just pm me :)
-
I'm assuming there is some way to be able to play both? Like going back and forth. Google will help me figure this out tomorrow night.
-
I don't play experimental, anywhere I can see what they look like? 28 slot... is that 4x7 then?
-
Damn I need to play experimental more. Doesn't it wipe your stable characters though?
-
Got a pink one...what you have to trade ? <3 Once there is a black backpack in the game...that one.

Well yes. To me it seems like you should want to promote your clan/gaming community by owning a private shard and being active in keeping it a clean server. Other than that you should let the game/server play out normally. I understand that people have different ideas and my main point is that those rules/archetype servers seem like a waste of money NOW because there is a very limited gaming experience in standalone right now. I would like to join a private shard down the road and make a name for myself there and on other private shards, I think that's more fun that server hopping a public hive but ATM that's not really feasable if I'm not allowed to do whatever I want. I think the hosters are doing a disservice to themselves by imposing server laws for their private shards. Sure if you want your server to be the server where people hunt rabbits, get together every wednesday night in a church and sing, and then on Sunday play hide and see at Windy Mountain that's good for you and your 4 person community. I don't see that being sustainable for any private gaming community in the current game state.

Is Fire useless for Hypothermia?
Grundlesmuggler replied to Subscriber's topic in General Discussion
Also to note, fires will remove damp from clothes before cold from your temp. So if it feels like it's taking long and you were just in the rain this is why. I've never had a problem with fires; however, I've only lain them on the first floor of any building or in the woods somewhere. -
Only see euro's jumping on the private shard wagon atm. Pretty indicative of a few things...amirtie!?!?!?!? Reading the descriptions of their servers it's comical: "Keep PvP to designated areas". Bandits and heroes must wear certain clothing to identify oneself. What are you gonna do, schedule hunting missions? Who can bring back the most boar pelts gets a prize (a high capicity vest!!!!). I really enjoy reading restrictions on gameplay in private shards at this point in development when gameplay is already inherently restrictive. What else is there to do that run around, loot, try and make friends to go kill other groups. This is my opinion, and not the absolute correct stance for everyone, but private shards that are trying to prohibit the most prominent style of play at the moment seem like a waste of money for most people.

What am I not getting about warmth?
Grundlesmuggler replied to synystr's topic in General Discussion
Worn + will keep you alive. Below that will slowly cool you off. Current stable is really hard to die from being cold unless you get rained on for a long long time. If you are near a fire, it will cure "damp" before heating you up if your clothes are wet. I read somewhere .50 will be a September month setting, so it'll be much warmer I think. -

DayZ Lack of Social Realism
Grundlesmuggler replied to therandomredstone's topic in General Discussion
Someone else can debate this with you. I'm too lazy to look up every instance of "inhumanity" after some sort of crisis, and then link it to you, in hopes that you will actually take the time to read about it and not continue to argue. Psychology will tell you why someone leaves hundreds of people stranded to help the 3 that they are closest to but it cannot tell you that this is by definition "humane/inhumane". That's in the eye of the beholder. I said it's fact that self-preservation outweighs the need to help others in crisis. Look up aftermath of "x" disaster and find the looting stories yourself if you want sources. There is no study that can correctly asses how humans would react in an apocalyptic event. There hasn't been one yet. Any study you reference would provide evidence of crises that have not escalated to a defined apocalypse. Therefore any theory derived from this type of research is supposition at best.
