Hello everyone, It has been a while since i have visited these forums but i was recently alarmed by the news that Brian hall is now stepping down as project lead for a new person to take the helm. He will of course still be on the team and no doubt will be working just as hard as he always has. Three project leads in the space of a year, the first one leaving the team entirely. I am really worried that this is a big sign of bad times ahead, slow progress and missed targets is regular for this team but to be honest, i am sure most people really don't see time as an issue if the final product is worth the time it takes to make, patience is not a thing i lack. I am just worried because i always like to look at things from a business perspective and having three bosses in the space of one year would really tell me that something is not working at that business. Of course this is just speculation and i know just as much, or as little as the rest of you. What are your opinions on this, do you think that the third team leader can have a good impact on the future of dayz ?? or do you think this is just another sign that the game is slowly failing, Do you think this will effect dayz and the 'progress' it has made in any way ?? -

spot on man, i have seen it happen to a few games as well and i feel like this game is heading in the same direction, i don't even play it anymore and if they keep heading down this path of listening to the people who shout the loudest they will ruin this game, i have no doubts about that. -

Ah i was genuinely curious, thought there might have been an announcement about a patch or something. I have not played the game in a while so i can't comment with certainty but i have seen the pictures and it just seems persistence is broken, loot was not spawning at all in experimental so they changed it for stable so that loot always spawns no matter what and this is why instead of no loot at all we have piles of loot. It just seems broken either way at the moment, my advise would be to find a server with persistence disabled to play on, once you have that server it will be exactly the same as 0.49 except you will have all the items from 0.50.

Maybe so but not if it's just some made up disease, 'Oh here is madeuparitus because you know, eating humans'. Let's not invent diseases and infections with made up names just to punish a certain play style because you disagree with it. I think if it has some kind of mental affect on the player like what they already have where your character has laughing and crying fits on his own every five or ten minutes, it would throw stealth out the window, example you are sneaking up to the jail and he just starts laughing hysterically or say you are talking to someone who does not know what you are yet and then you start crying hysterically, they will know you are a cannibal and they will treat you as such, i think the laughing and crying is a perfect drawback to cannibalism imho. -
What Wednesday patch, have you been let on to some secret i don't know. ? Wednesday is for maintenance not for patches.

It depends what you mean by working, its a work in progress so it is wrking but it does not wrk if that makes sense. IMHO no it is not.

That's because this is not the place to post about bugs, this is a discussion about the new experimental update and the things in it, which is what we are doing. You are so wrong, behavior is 'limited' by the game design, not dictated. The difference between these two words are quite huge. One example of this would be the original arma 2 game and what it became with the original mod, these were two vastly different games and created some hugely different behavior, behavior you just could not get with the the original game, not because that was dictated to the players by the game designers but because that was the limits of what the player could do with the original game. You see your problem is addressing these people as 'they' as if they are some separate entity to you,almost talking down on them, why don't you use we and us or do you not class yourself as part of that group you address as 'they'. If i give you a gun in real life will you go and shoot someone with it, if i tell you that you can eat other people are you now going to eat other people because that is exactly what you are saying, if someone can do something then they will do it. Dayz is a nonlinear game, you are given choices but in NO WAY are you forced to take advantage of them, this game is not a dictatorship, in no way is it 'dictated' to you to do something you do not want to, this game is not linear, you can put a 1000 hours into this game and never eat another human if that is what YOU want to do. Also i do not have to be polite and i will not be polite to someone who lies or say something that does not make logical sense. You are lying about experimental being less friendly, literally lying through your teeth, first of all there is no graph or statistic to show that this is the case and second of all you are claiming that an extra feature which is completely optional would change the way someone plays the game and i just think that is a load of rubbish, i certainly will not go around killing and eating people just because it is in the game, i am not a sheep. So you are basically saying you are a sheep??. -

I do see your point i just feel your comparison was very extreme, but i fail to understand how you can support this game in any form if this is your view as you say it is since this game allows you to do things which in my opinion are a lot worse then eating others. Also the basic gist of this common debate is that some people may reenact what they see in a video game and i personally think this is utter bullshit. If someone does something violent or morally wrong then it is due to a lot of things that have happened to them in their life, video games probably accounting for 0.001 percent if any of their thought process, i think the argument that video games can make bad behavior acceptable is nonsense just the same way as watching movies would not make that same bad behavior acceptable, i hear no uproar about violence in films yet so much about video games, enacting rape in a video game is bad most people with your opinion would say but yet it is shown in full hd glory in many films so where are the boundaries set and what does it apply to, just video games or more. Also you did not really get to my point in your reply, are there not far worse things you can do to people while they are alive in this game then simply eating them when they are dead and do you think these are also bad additions to the game ?? Should handcuffing and force feeding people be removed as well ?? Should killing people with certain weapons like screwdrivers be removed or are these fine ?? Should stripping people naked while they are unconscious be removed ? Should shooting people be removed all together ?? What would we be left with, the Sims, these are the reasons dayz is such a good game and i honestly think if cannibalism belongs in ANY game out there, THIS is the game it belongs in. As much as i try i just can not understand how you would think cannibalism is a bad addition to the game and yet approve of so many worse things. -

What a stupid comparison, cannibalism which does not conjure up a bad image in ones head, in fact when i think about cannibalism it does not make me sick compared to having sex with children, what the fuck is wrong with you. Dayz is the most morally corrupt game i have ever played (But these choices are what makes it such a great game, Emphasis on the CHOICE, you don't have to eat people), a game where you can handcuff people and force feed them disinfectant and all kinds of horrible stuff, feed them to the walking dead but this is all fine to you and you love the game and all it's content before, you love handcuffing and torturing people since you have never mentioned how morally bad this is before but cannibalism is what ?, one step too far for you or something, you make no sense at all. You enjoy dayz in it's current form where you can keep someone alive and do far worse things to them then just eat them when they are dead but because you can eat them when they are dead this has crossed some kind of fantasy moral boundary for you where you feel comfortable making a comparison to child molestation, as if torture is not far far worse then cannibalism, absolutely pathetic. -

How does it reduce the chance of friendly encounters, this is biggest pile of horse shit i have ever heard. 'I was'nt going to kill you but now i can eat you i guess i will.' Like wise, 'i was going to kill you but because i can't eat you i guess i will be friendly'. NO, these thought processes are made up, if your a bandit you are a bandit, if your a good person who does not kill people then you will be a good person that does not kill people, pretty damn simple, if you are good then having another pair of hands with you to look for food is better then killing and eating them and if your a bandit, well then you are already too stupid to figure that out. Nope, this thread is not best suited for people playing the build, it is best suited for people wishing to know what the build contains which i clearly stated in my op is the reason i will check in to it every now and then, just because i do not want to play it does not mean i have no right to research it so please shut up. I bet you can't. you should skip homework and jump straight into it, don't want to miss the band wagon. -

Interesting, will keep an eye on here to see what's new, no way i will play it though. Running around in a game has reached a new extreme with dayz, i have not played for a long time and i normally only play exp but this one does not interest me in the slightest for some reason. -
Good for you man, just to let you know they probably could not hear any of your shots hence why they had no clue where you were. Got to love that crucial bug that really needs addressing. Nice shooting.
