Hi guys I've heard some different opinions, so I thought I would ask here. In the past my base and watchtowers have been climbed into by people using car hoods or even stacked fireplaces to "climb" the 3 stories and crawl in under the roof of the watchtower. Is that still possible or is it fixed? Don't want to spend time building any real base if these exploits are still around.

But did they intent me to build 5 fireplaces and hang them from the air to climb 3 stories up?

I'm not really sure the game will ever light up again, I simply think it has taken way too long to develop. People feel like we are going back to a 5 year old game. My friends stopped playing because we wasted hours and hours unable to find anyone to pvp against (60 slot servers), and the only remote hope of getting anyone back is advanced basebuilding. But, even though I don't think I've ever criticized the development before - people are basically laughing at the timetables being put out. No one believes in them anymore, and no one I played with really believes this game will ever be finished. I remember the game making headlines outside of gaming communities for being the fastest selling game on Steam or something - to think that we are here 5 years later with 90 % the same game is actually kinda weird.

Hi guys So I've been away for a few months, but did play 5 hours or so in the past couple of days. I'm not sure if the issues I'm experiencing became worse in 0.61, but here goes. In these past 5 hours, I've only been killed by either hackers or exploiters. - First by a guy who speed ran 5 X normal speed along the east coast. He would literally come from nowhere, kill someone, and race of again. Again and again. - Second by 2 guys glitching inside the rocks at the Berezino Lighthouse. (Apparently if you angle yourself correctly you can move inside the rocks, and still shoot out) - Third by 4 dupers with 100 % identical gear in Berezino. The third one was particular fun, seeing 12+ barrels in the harbor filled with identical gear :( Is the only cure to this private servers with strict rules and bans? Tbh. it feels rather pointless playing public servers when something like this happens so often, and it all happened on the biggest servers too. Bambiland 2 and La Marianne.

Deer stands around Gorka are rater empty. Have found 200+ 308 rounds and lots of Winchester rifles - but 0 scopes. Any tips?

On a more important note - where do you guys find tents? I've been searching through the Berezino appartment buildings, but without luck. They still spawn in these right?

As a lot of posters have said, barrels are very well concealed between 2 green pine trees. I have one place inland where my 10 barrels have been untouched for more than 2 months (all of 0.58 and so far on 0.59) on a Private server that's all most always full. I would prefer to "camp" a bit more myself, having a tent, barrels, oven, fireplace etc., but the fact is that tents are just to easily spotted, and I personally haven't found a place yet where i dared throw my stuff in a tent. I'm sure the spots are out there, but I'm also sure no one is telling if they found the perfect spot.

Civilian cars are always good for weapons, ammo and mags. But, as the above posters said - police stations have made it rather easy to arm yourself.

I did try that tactic for the first few days of Dayz. After I was shot on sight 5-6 times in a row - I decided it was best being on guard at all times - rather shooting first than trying to interact.

Hi guys I'm starting to like -newui, mostly because I can't see my barrels once stuck under tress with the normal UI :( Switching to -newui enables me to interact with them again. Did anyone find a workaround for barrels with the old UI? Also, with -newui I'm losing a lot of magazines for my weapons. It seems dragging it onto the weapon and selected the dropdown "add as attachment" is the easiest way to delete it. Does anyone have a reliable workaround for magazines in -newui? It's painful relogging with different ui's everytime i need to access my barrels on full servers with waitingtime.

Hi guys I can't seem to tan pelts in 0,59, i have my barrel, pelts and my garden lime. But when click "tan pelts" I'm told i need to add more water. I've added about 20 liters into the barrel. (Dragging my flasks over and selecting "empty into") Still wont tan them, keeps saying add more water. Anyone know how much water it takes? Of it it is just bugged?

After reading your comments, I tried switching barrels. Now it works like it used to, without water. Maybe i found the first barrel with water inside, and what the game actually meant to tell me was to remove the water, not add more?

Do you know how much water is needed? There is water in there, all the pelts are damp.

My personal preference is any weapon that takes the hunting scope. Equipped with a good pistol or SMG as sidearm you have a great weapon combo. In the end it comes down to what range you prefer engaging people at, obviously the AKM wins at anything below 150 meters, but anything above that the Blaze is your best bet.

There was too much military gear in game as it was. Any player could just take the run to the NWAF and have the perfect gear set 45 mins later - it was too easy. Forcing players to search through smaller cities for SKS / Mosin and smaller arms is a good thing.

I've only been playing for about a month, but I've learnt the hard way that KOS anyone who has a weapon is the key to lasting long yourself. In the beginning I tried communicating with people, yelling friendly and stuff, but 3-4 times in a row i got shot while trying to talk to them. I've only met 2-3 people in game in the past month that didn't engage me as soon as I met them. So you kinda learn to do that yourself, it's a very vicious circle. People get tense and nervous when around other people with firearms - and it is a lot safer to shoot first than to take the chance.
