Ok so I have been playing Dayz for a while now and it seems to me that the way forward is to get on a white listed server. Not becasue of bandits but mainly becase of Hackers and the lack of things to do, where as if you have a certain role then that will just expand the game more. So I have looked at the whitelist criterior and the forms and such and it looks lilke a lot of work. ie short story about your character, answering questions about rules blah blah. I dont mind spending a couple of hours to do it its just that I have done this sort of thing before to get in clans and stuff, only to be told by some dude I am not worthy :blush: . So who is white listed? Is it easy to get on board? do I have to grease some palms? I understand its in place to put big kids and little kids off but I am a sensible gamer and have always liked the idea of role play in a game.

Modern FPS shooters are not menat to be immersive. You play them for 10 hours on full auto, infinite ammo and then go buy the next DLC. WTF does EA or Dice know about immersion. Trying to be cool i guess. B) My son does not play FPS for immersion and does not bother with campaigns. Its becmoming more "competition gaming" or a sport if you like.

Npcs, Pay to play, a weapons shop and Mcdonalds restaurant. :( There has to be a line in the sand somwhere.

I was having the same problem. I literally sneak around towns now, no running around in the middle of the road etc. seeing dead fresh spawns in a town is not a good sign either. There seems to be snipers everywhere. :rolleyes: Try gearing up on low player servers. .

I have been playing Day Z for a couple of weeks now and really having fun. Ok so what if I am on my 7th character due to silly decisions, approching zombies thinking they are Player characters and trying to plea to the better nature of bandits. Bandits are a pain, there is no doubt about it but in the real world (real appocalypse) wouldnt we be trying to kill each other for just a can of beans, lose our mind and just kill at random citing its better to be dead then Z'ed or maybe just shooting your friend for his fancy sniper rifle. There are friendly servers out there and the roleplaying ones look fun but i think the real day z is where you are hiding, constantly looking over your shoulder and where the bullet has no name on it.
