Yea, I know its easy to get carried away but I didn't ever mean it should take the time to call a locksmith, NOT have your AAA card on you, have to call your wife at the office to get the number on her companion card, get the lock picked, gain access only to be shot. I just meant it should take longer than just a mouse scroll and hitting F. 15 seconds is good. -

I don't mean something you can't cancel out of. Sorry that wasn't clear. I just mean that it would take a long time and it needs to be in one go at it. You can still of course cancel any operation. Starting to pick and then jiggling the door and canceling to try and lure someone out might be a good way to get in as well. -

Or a shape charge. Or a ram. I just meant that if they keep the lockpick in play then that is a simple kit item to have instead of a fancy multi tool. Even a lockpick gun. -

The easy route would be to just get rid of the lockpick multi tool and just have a snake rake and hook pick. Then just be able to walk up to the door and have to perform maybe a 2 minute, uninterrupted animation to pick the lock. Have it make a jiggling noise to alert nearby people that an event is occurring. Your ideas are really thorough and all but like Sleeves said, Functionality > Realism -
So... Is it just me or do servers restart way too often?

Server restarts are 2 and 4 hours respectively for a lot of reasons. For the retention of players and getting more traffic is one. Once a server is looted people generally aren't going to stick around if it is low pop and nobody to interact with. Also long server up times can have effects on servers that I don't know much about but I would imagine they can get pretty unstable without at least a few restarts per day. -

I have experienced fps drops since patch as well. You aren't the only one. We are not the only ones. It will pan out. Go live int he forest for a few weeks. Craft yourself a bow and some arrows and live off the land. Write your manifesto in a chicken coop. -

Played in the HC server for a few days over the weekend and just wanted to say this is a great server. Actually didn't really run into many people but it is really stable, good ping (LA server I suppose). Thanks! -

Just picture a world without facebook and all of the lovely little things we have in real life. Take all of that away except you only have a flashlight and a battery. That alone is enough to make you kill someone on sight.
