Something for the ladies... the Pink Derringer exists!
ob1korobi replied to Death By Crowbar's topic in General Discussion
Go into Novod, there are like 5 or 6 of them in the big tower in most servers I have seen. -
And speaking on , "bad press". Any press these days is good press. We all know this. My girlfriend probably wouldn't be thrilled about me posting a picture of my bare ass on facebook but I am sure a lot of people would think it is hilarious, dumb, gross, etc., whatever. But a lot of people would see it. I doubt this is a publicity stunt though.

I like the hopes and dreams of a Candyland Society after the apocalypse. It really is hilarious. We should all hold hands and sing Kumbaya and eat green bell peppers. I don't really like comparing real life to video games but I will just say this. How fast do you honestly think all of the food in this planet would disappear if such an apocalypse really happened? Not a zombie one but say the Bubonic plague. After all of the nuke plants meltdown and most water sources are contaminated, the fires that will reach outside the big cities and scorch all of the forests and kill much of the wild life, you think there will be food? I'll eat you. I wouldn't want to. But if I was going to live? I would eat you. Fast.

Knowing that bugs like this will be fixed in the long run, I don't really see what is wrong with any of this. Have your fun now cause it wont last forever.

you need to slow down. You feet or legs are getting caught through each step. That happened to my parents dog a few years back. Nasty break.

Tent and Drybag Testing - Good News For Persistence *Updated*
ob1korobi replied to ob1korobi's topic in General Discussion
Update. I was only able to get in game for about an hour today and after several server restarts overnight and the server maintenance (Which I assumed happened on Wednesday earlier in my day), my drybags were still there! Still stocked with goodies. I moved them to another spot but I was still very surprised that they are still there. This is good news I believe. Note to add and theory (Can't confirm this without dev help) - When a server resets and persistent loot repsawns, does the server/hive try to place it exactly in the same spot as before the restart? My theory on one of the reasons tents disappear is that if the tent is already placed in an area that is too tight to fit and you manage to make to deploy in that tight space, ie. a slope, in between trees, close to another tent, it might delete itself when the server/hive tries to repopulate your loot and the tent moves slightly causing a conflict. Thoughts? -

Going to be placing one of the two tents I have tonight and will be stocking it in much of the same manner as the previous test. I also noticed that dry bags and packs (Like others have noted) work very well for storing items. They can last easily several hours which I tested last night and checked on this morning> I am sure that with the wipe though that they will be gone when I get home from work. I still want to check for myself as to how long they will last. -
People still use Twitter? I don't understand how you get 776 posts into this forum without some understanding of, "IA*" * It's Alpha

Made this a few days ago, http://forums.dayzgame.com/index.php?/topic/214845-tent-testing-persistence-works-so-far/#entry2157288 Tents are bugged. Gotta learn how to work with them. The Wednesday maintenance thing probably is still fudgy as well. I scored two tents yesterday so i am going to test again.

I honestly have the opposite thing happening. Although I do need to eat and drink much more often, I am finding food everywhere. Also, try hunting and cooking meat. It fulls you up quickly and gives you a good sense of immersion. I didn't start hunting until yesterday and I really liked the whole process.

Probably in the police cars. Which I have not seen one of since .5 come to think of it.

Tent and Drybag Testing - Good News For Persistence *Updated*

Being that is is only Tuesday for me here today and the weekend when this took place doesn't really relate to the Wednesday wipe message. Individual server owners may be playing with their own servers as well. IA (It's Alpha). Oh well. Experiment completed. -
Tent and Drybag Testing - Good News For Persistence *Updated*

Update: My friend logged in tonight to check our spot and no tents. Sort of disappointing given I had read a few times that tents stuck around for over 24 hours easily. I am going to try and contact the server admins to get more info on the server. Maybe there was some sort of reset. Maybe even someone came across the tents. They wouldn't be able to haul all of that away though but maybe over a few trips. They were very well hidden. Definitely off any beaten path that I had ever been on. -

It fits in the mountain pack. Takes only 6x6 vertically. -

Also what I am wondering is if you pack up the tent and just move it around a few feet every day or two, will it stick around? It's like feeding the meter. -

When is the movie coming out for this? -
It could be by design like others have said. It's easy to not keep an open mind when it comes to an Alpha game and I myself forget it all of the time. There have been many two steps forward, one step back updates in the game so far. It might be turned off because with other tweaks in the game it may have been conflicting. Easiest solution might have been to have the wells :dry" for the time being.

If the AKS-74u continues to fit in a pack like it does, I don't see a point to even looking for crashsites any more. Once the platform is further updated we should be able to integrate furniture to equip scopes. Right now it is a great backup if you prefer to snipe with the Mosin and not want to worry about dual carrying too.

The ingame map is fun to put together. Can't you also drop markers on the map and label things? I think it is a cool feature to the game. I use my other monitor in page view so I have a huge map off to the side of me (topo from iZurvive) whenever I need it so I don't usually spend any time looking for the map pieces any more. <------- Cheater

Have you done this since .50 has been released as stable? -
It's a known bug for sure. My suggestion is to make a break for Zelenogorsk, North of your pos. There is a small pond just North of town on the left hand side of the road. Get your drink on.
