Has anyone found themselves locked in yet?
ob1korobi replied to rickyriot's topic in General Discussion
This isn't football. No shoulder padding. If you want a dislocated arm then that is a good way. Kicking just to the side of the knob is the best way to breach a door. Doors are usually hollowed out for the knob and lock mechanism and a door is most structurally vulnerable there. If you have a shotgun you can pepper the hinges and the door usually falls right out. -
Novod. The big tower. Guns be there.

Tent and Drybag Testing - Good News For Persistence *Updated*
ob1korobi replied to ob1korobi's topic in General Discussion
I have seen past version tent cities but I really have not heard much on .50. There are a few people doing the same thing. I don't mind losing anything. The is alpha and we aren't going to stay like this forever.I will be experimenting on private shards the next week or until the next stable release. -
Here's a glitch I can get behind

Welcome to .5 -
It wasn't that high up but that went way over your head apparently.

Where's your server located? Definitely need to start playing on the private shards. You have a BF4 server(s) right? Rings a bell. -

Sweet. I guess I need to find a private server to play on. I assume private servers are not subject to the weekly Wednesday maintenance that the public servers go through? -

Tent and Drybag Testing - Good News For Persistence *Updated*

This was our first camp location and it was North of Dubky somewhere. It wasn't very far from town. -
I think persistence is working just fine. It's the Wednesday server restarts and the loot dump locations that are jacking things up currently. Just check my tent thread.

Yup. Beans. Maybe if you didn't have a pack on and just a rifle in hand. No other gear. If they allow quiet sneaking then I hope they slow us down based on what we carry.

Totally okay with this.

Tent and Drybag Testing - Good News For Persistence *Updated*
ob1korobi replied to ob1korobi's topic in General Discussion
Update since the 12th. My dry bags have stayed and I have since found 3 tents. I have moved them to a good spot to test them out. It's been 4 days and everything is still intact. I'm confident that without a server reset that the tents would stay for a very long time. I'll add to this again later but for now I'm pretty sure tents work fine other than the inventory not showing up unless added to. I've also noticed a glitch with fireplace kits. I have three fireplace kits in one tent. One of them was used to cook food. I extinguished it and put the kit in the tent. I later revisited my camp and notice the kit was in the place I had it lit. As soon as I moved inventory around in the tent, the kit that was outside of the tent reappeared in the tent and disappeared outside. -
I'm getting into using the bow and I would definitely like to see a quiver back in the game. My first thought was arrowheads and I didn't know at first that all I needed was sharpened sticks and feathers. I have also found many composite arrows so that is nice too. Have some beans.

Steyr AUG: Use the A3 and not the A1 version
ob1korobi replied to stielhandgranate's topic in Suggestions
This is a good point. I would like to see more modular weapons though when I think about it more but if I do want the cross compatibility I would go play other games. I think it is nice that they are just coming out with more weapons. I'll take what I can get. -
I'm not sure that keeping up with uniform regs are a big priority to the devs and I doubt it ever will be. This isn't a combat Milsim. I like that people want to look a certain way but Joan Rivers is dead and wont judge you for wearing a plaid check shirt with your Gorka pants. It's more about keeping dry and staying warm. Or else I would be in shorts, flippy floppies, a football jersey and having a beer near Balota around high noon all the time.

SInce I don't know much about nuclear power plants I was wondering about who removes the spent rods and places them in the cooling pools? How is water going to pump into the cooling pools? These things can lead to a meltdown. Meltdown can pollute the water table, ocean (most likely next to one as most coastal states have plants near coast for cooling purposes) it can have devastating effects to the nearby and even distant ecosystem, plants, wildlife. People will flee and head for rural areas. Food will DEFINITELY be in short supply. People will die. People will eat each other. It's a very likely scenario. Being open minded here.

So instead of debating what I said you agree with it now. Cool.

1) Who is maintaining these plants? 2) Who is maintaining the water treatment facilities and keeping our potable drinking system pressurized and safe? 3)Fire requires three main things in order to function. The first is a fuel source. This would be combustibles from buildings, trash, wood, paper, etc.. The second is heat source. You can get that from let's say anything on a daily basis that may potentially catch fire probably from humans since 9 out of 10 fires are caused by humans(Thanks Smokey Bear ads). The third is oxygen. Well, I don't have to provide any credentials to tell you where oxygen is highly abundant. That being said, who is going to put out fires when they break out? The fire department? The people that are either sick, dead of fending for themselves? Yea they are not going to stick around long enough. I don't have any education on the matter other than common fucking sense. Where did you study, Post Apocalyptic Survival 101? What was your dissertation titled? I'm not going to attack you so please don't attack me. Use that mushy mass that is taking up the space in your skull and think long and hard about some things once in a while. People say cannibalism isn't going to happen. Or do you know how long it would take to resort to eating a person? Really? Does anyone know any of that? No.

That's a blog. That isn't press. That's like someone going rouge off of the forum with their thoughts where nobody can make fun of them.

You forgot my goat idea.

I don't think eating dead people is as bad as killing hookers and getting your money back. Or blasting an innocent woman in the face with a shotgun and running over a cop. So much worse has already made it into games.
