What are you hoping to learn from the replies here? I only ask because it seems like such a strange question. You are essentially asking how to play the game after dying? I'm sorry and no offense to you but this probably addresses a lot of posts that have similar wording to them but, do you not have a creative thought of your own that you need everyone else to suggest ways to play the game? This is somewhat directed at you but not entirely. The map is like 250 something square km and you want to keep spawning in the same place or killing yourself to get a "lucky" spawn? It isn't lucky as much as it is a waste of time. If you want to play pvp against the same people in the same confined area then you should try games like the Battlefield franchise or COD. IBTG

So yesterday a friend and I spent a few hours gathering supplies and searching for tents. We found two fairly quickly in the high rises. We wanted to test how persistence is working since it has only been a few days since .50 stable and there has not been many posts on this yet. Sorry in advance since I don't normally post like this or have very much experience doing any type of game testing because my patience runs low usually. We found a suitable place to place our tents Next we wanted to place as much loot of different varieties inside to see what stuck around and also made some outside of tent items (fireplace kit) to see if that would stick around as well after a restart. We also wanted to see if containers that could hold loot could be placed inside the tent and retain their loot as well throughout a restart. I am happy to report that after two server restarts that all loot was accounted for except for the fireplaces which I had a feeling would not make it. Suggestion to keeping fireplaces is going to obviously be, store them in your tent until needed. They will store without the log in them. This was accomplished at 1130pm PST. I will be checking back after work today to see the progress in this and then update this post. Crossing my fingers but from what I have read in a few other posts, I have good hopes. Few notes on the tent itself after server restart: 1.Tent will always be open and cannot be closed - I have not tried emptying and redeploying tent yet but I will give that a shot. 3.Items in tent are invisible/do not display in tent (Known bug) but after added an item everything reappears again 3.Items in tent are all rearranged (Known bug)

Tried to grab my tents last night and the server I was trying to connect to was having major issues. I was able to get on this morning before maintenance but my tens and loot, drybags, everything was gone. Oh well. Time to start over. I am thinking that this concludes my testing for now. Switching over to private shards and enjoying what I can of the game.

Sure it's a problem. Your cries are not falling on deaf ears either. Eugen has a post today I believe regarding duping. I just don't think that it is really that big of a deal considering how Alpha this game is. There are other issues within the game that are less polished that need to be dealt with before duping is tackled. Duping has been dealt with before and then other ways were figured out. People get upset and then they get dealt with again. If you play any kind of game you should already know this. People find exploits, devs shut them down, people find exploits, devs shut them down. Just give it some time.

I would take a blanket statement over someone randomly throwing out percentages though.

Yes. Just look around and scroll the mouse wheel until open tent pops up. Go inside. Try placing something inside to make the loot appear. Treat it like a salad bar. Take what you want and leave the rest. Or take it all and move the tent into a pond.

Thanks Punisher. I checked out your server for a few hours last night. It runs really well for me. There were not that many people on at the time though for me but I geared up a freshie and made my way to Novod. I was bummed that persistence is off though. I'm still trying to get a handle on what types of things that persistence is doing to cause trouble. From a player standpoint it seems to be working very well for me. Hopefully that gets fixed soon.

I have definitely taken items that I am not going to use any more that could potentially be used against me and cast them off into the forest or nearby waterway. But cleaning out a firestation or doing what you are saying is a little bit overboard.

I have 3 tents. Well 4 now. Sorry I saw where you said two tents hold 6 guns. You just need to play with them and figure out the quirks. If you want one I can give it to you. I am really just testing them ATM.

All depends on the gun. One tent can fit a Mosin and a regular AK. Or you can put possibly 3 AK74u in one tent stacked. No way 6 rifles. Maybe sidearms. All we are doing is hoarding in tents. What else are we supposed to do? I keep things in there I may or may not need. I hide my tent so it can't be found. I don't want to share.

You can't lock a tent. Just go inside it and grab what you want. If it looks empty try the usual method of checking to see what is in it. What is not fair about being first to a weapon and keeping it to yourself? Are you going to give your gun to someone the next time you see them if they don't have one?
