How do You Keep Yourself Busy While Travelling?

Don't you be messin' with my Suzie! She said she wasn't doing that anymore. She said she could change! I need a Pipsi. -
How do You Keep Yourself Busy While Travelling?

Me? I've started dating one of the zombies. Susan. She doesn't talk much but always tries to get closer. I have to push her back with a sitck. She likes running and I go with her sometimes. She's always behind me when we run. I can hear her gurggly voice now. So sweet. I'll give it a while. It could work out. -
For me a lot of times I spawn the sun is on one side of the sky or the other. Then it is a guess whether it is sunrise or sunset and sometimes I judge wrong. Very surprised when I encounter the ocean. :-)

I've seen the warm clothes thing from a couple of people and I have to say that with .49 it is pretty valid. Ilike a raincoat for the staying dry.

You are right. I only recently got on to the servers since .49 was released and found that half of them spawn you in underwear. If I get no spawn tshairt then I change my third to bandages. I would say that 1/3 of my deaths have been due to bleeding.

The 22 as a gun on the range benifits by a scope and it is commonly used. Even at shorter ranger - under 150m, a scope for getting thattarget or precious zombie head shot is nice. I find the iron sites not that great in this game. Something a bit more defined is nice - or a scope for me. Just preference in the event that I'm stuck with a 22. I started this discussion because I could not find any mention of the 22 in the forum and thought that if the regulars or noobies knew that in a worst case situation they could use a 22 for basic survival until they got something with a bit more kick.

I do agree with you but I was basing it on my spawn tshirt is 2 bandages already. I was allowing that as given for my selection of three items. I often find when using the fire axe for defense I still get wounds that need those bandages.

I have to believe it could break a leg. Worth a test. I volunteer. Youtube has a good video where a couple of guys did a reasonable test of the crossbow. They were having a good time and one of the guys volunteered for and arm and leg shot. The limbs broke. Can't find the link. I agree a test would do well with the 22.

For me this would be great. Bartering. A can of beans for 3 bullets. Look at someting like Fallout where the currency was bottle caps or something properly post apocoliptic. If they could design a neutral no-kill zone where people could go to a common market place. I don't know the solution to avoiding hording and cheating imbalances. Perhaps hoarded items could fade from inventory even if you haven't logged in in a while. Not sure. Or if the marketplace had a fixed limit on activity to meter out the volume of goods.

Whenever I spawn there are three things I want to find first if all. I want to find everything but these three make me feel like I have a chance to start. Compass - Can opener(or similar) - Fire axe With these I can defend myself from zombies, feed myself and get where I want to go. The rest will come but I consider these to be core to base survival for my play style. Eukendywa

I enjoy playing these games and putting restrictions for myself just to see if I can manage it. Make it more interesting. I would want the large magazine and a scope if I were going to give it a go. Would have liked to see the expression on the axe weilders face afterwards. :-) .

I like this. Patience and noble justice. :-) I haven't tested to see how many shots a zombie can take with the 22. I figure it will be several. Didn't know there was a 30 round clip. I once found the 22 pistol at a crash site but died before I could try it.

You may not realize this but you aren't a zombie. Reread the article. And no, I'm not laughing at you. Eukendywa

At one point I found a 22 rifle and had some rounds for it and could not find anything larger. A larger caliber is going to deliver more punch per bullet so is more effective generally but is also caught up in the manly macho imagery and rumor. I had heard a lot of negative talk about the 22 in this game so I was not expecting the rifle to do me much goodl. So off I went to an airport. I began encoutering more zombies and took the 22 rifle and shot each of them in the head. In each case the zombie went straight down. If I got their body they just kept coming with that zombie enthusiasm. It had to be a head shot. It was a reliable gun. At one point several came within a minute or so. By keeping a bit of distance I was able to take them all down with that single shot to the head. I did wish for a 22 magazine to speed up reloading but I survived. So for those of you stuck with a 22 rifle don't give up hope or throw it away. If you have nothing else it can do the job if you take your time and keep a bit of distance. Eukendywa

"Player can no longer change weapon when in water" I think this is unfortunate. In other games I was frustrate by not being able to switch to a knife/melee weapon when needed. For example meeting a zombie in the water. It would reflect reality in being able to switch. Otherwise, I do really enjoy the game. Thanks Peter
