Point taken... i have had some damn sic shots (prone - bipod - scope) at airfields with pimped out akm, one guy was on top of the firestation tower at nwaf - got him from about 250-300m away on first shot - prob to chest cause blood was spurting and we was still moving - kill shot took a few extra rounds but got him.

Exactly, the only result from surrending will be losing my stuff... so the only way to go is guns blazing, iv had this situation few times and twice i was able to kill at least 1 or 2 of them before i went down, even came back from being knocked out and shot the dummy who thought i was dead.

My thoughts exactly ... especially your last sentance haha... maybe one day there will be a co-op type server where we can weed these undesirables out, have some fun with others - gear up, and then take that same character to a pvp server to engage them. I never played the mod and know this is alpha, but the one difference i see in this game and some of the other zombie survival games is the amount / type of zombies. Some of those other games have tons of walking dead type zombies, unlike dayz where we have just a few 28days later type zombies - maybe the tons/walking dead scenario would require more help from other real people... dunno..

Yep, i'd chaulk that one up to an Airfield Camper/Hoper, several times doing the airfield hop on very low pop servers iv ran into the only other person on the server... seems the airfields / military camps are only real places to gear up with ak's and good clothes... always expect contact there...

Agreed... but THESE people the op is talking about made me this way... i would like nothing more than to be able to run up to every person i see and have a conversation or help them but that is pure fantasy in this game as is... so i adapated... You never know what that person is thinking/gonna do - iv died 12+ times - all by crazy people like op encountered: most recently - i respawn, get some stuff inc axe / backpack / food, still in noobville where i spawned and see another person, all he seems to have is an axe, so we talk - i give him some food /bandages, say cheers and go on our merry ways... so i thought, as im running out of town, what i thought was opposite direction from him, i get attacked by zombie - bleeding, go in house - shut door and start to bandage, door opens - its the guy i just helped - as my bandage just about completes he walks up and axes me in the head.... Wait ?! What !? the cold war is over ? I'v been down in my bunker since 1974, havent seen the sun in 40yrs...

I know the feeling, friend buys game, logs in, we figure out where he is, i run to him and set him up with some stuff and then off we goto the nwaf (we were close to it) hoping to get him an ak or something... enter the control tower, i go behind the stairs up to check that loot spot and low and behold = i see a pair of arms and a ak stick out from INSIDE the wall = im dead, my friend freaks out and runs upstairs and just camps out the 2 ways in - stairs - ladder - and seems the guy just logged out... somehow the guy got inside the walls of control tower and was able to shoot thru the walls by stickin hits arms thru... good times...

Recent encounter: Friend and me are running north from berezino towards coast, we both have axes - no guns - backpacks - and motor cycle helments, along comes joe shmo fresh spawn, he runs up to us saluting and spamming over voice... "hi, hi, hi, hi, hi, hi, alan, alan, alan, alan, hi, hi, hi, hi, hi, alan, alan, alan, alan..." no word of a lie this goes on for like 2mins straight as we are asking him questions over voice... So, next step- axe the obviously just recently escaped mental patient, however things do not go so smoothly... friend and me are both old - im an alcoholic, he smokes a lot of weed - so in our wasted state we try to start axing this spaz attack.... much to our dismay, he is circle jerking us like fuckin muhamed f'n ali.... and still continually spamming insane shit over voice chat - we'r talking 5mins plus at this point and psycho hasnt shut up once... His insane babble has now turned to death threats and rape... As he is circle jerking my friend like floyd mayweather i am trying to axe him while not hitting my friend and he is doing the same but we seem to be losing... My buddy smartly puts his back to a wall and stops his super fly weight boxing skills cold = WHAM, an axe shot lands square = blood gushin all over= voice chat = AAAAAARRRRRRRGGGGGHHHHHH - over and over and over like the guy was really just hit by an axe... Not once, ever, did this guy shut up.... so he starts running down the road screaming over voice chat - AAAARRRRGGHHHH, me right on his ass ready to deliver the final blow, blood gushin like mad all over... No Response from Server 1,2,3,4,5,6,7 I was so f'n pissed off - this was THE most priceless encounter iv had yet in dayz, about to end in glorius fashion in an amazing axe kill on a full blown mental patient... Moral of the story - everyone is a threat.

Wow, sounds like you got very lucky... he had an axe and asks you to open cans = shooting him several times. I am russian, friendly = shooting him several times(on principle alone there, ivan= dead). Instead of putting his hands up you got? middle finger or 1 hand wave/salute ? = shooting him several times. Non compliance in general = shooting him several times. So hard to trust anyone in this game after being raped several times. To the op, death threats are a compliment(he might have been roleplaying haha), taking out spaz attack teens that forget to take thier meds for weeks on end is very satisfying.

Frustrated - no, just have to find the new locations... like the barracks and nearby buildings at airfields, however these places are normally loaded with people ready to waste you in a heartbeat. Half the tents (wooden floor) dont spawn anything and the others have limited weapons with what seems excessive 5.56mm ammo. 7.62x39mm are harder to come by, never mind the 30 clip and 75 drum.

Yes which makes it kinda suspicious... he literally seemed to just followed your exact path thru the trees shooting at you till his clip was empty... stopped like 5-10yds away... reloaded... then shot you THRU the trees never once exposing himself... bandit / hunter mentality or not... this guy knew exactly where you were the entire time thru very thick trees/bushes w/o even the slightest fear of you shooting him, hence him stopping so close to reload and then capping you... FUBAR Not gonna say how, but iv seen comments on how these people can see thru everything, so it does happen.

In Krasnostav with only axe and a 9mm... see a person who doesnt see me... approach cautiously - yell over voice chat im friendly dont shoot - he turns around and shoots me dead... Hours later... make my way back to Krasnostav airport with only axe... see some guy looting the cars outside the garage/control tower - he sees me - i hit F2 - hands up i surrender = i get shot in the face im dead... Hours later... back to Krasnostav with only axe... enter large building down the street from the police station = get shot in the back by some dude camped out in the house in front of it... im dead... Umm... so ya... KOS it is... everyone... cept for maybe some bambi who obviously has no gear.... maybe... then again cant be too sure so ill shoot him as well...

Your assuming a lot there Baker... if indeed that blink is the muzzle flash that kills him, if... then that attacker didnt do any flanking and just ran the exact same path as the op... and shot him point blank thru the trees... There are also severall reloading sounds prior to him getting shot... which seem kinda odd... not exactly sure of the range of reload sounds but iv seen/heard people unload ak's on zeds and watched them reload but couldnt hear the reload... i know the sounds are kinda buggy but this still seems odd... Still too wierd to call it hacks or not, but suspicious...

Found 2 so far and both were within like 300yds of eachother, both Mi's with decent crap half of which was in ground - using inv open search method.. have never found a M4 at a crashsite - only on corpses haha.

Yes... this is why you always walk to said recently shot person and bust a few caps into thier head at point blank range, spraying brain matter and skull fragments all over yourself... they never get up...

if your on a daytime only server = dump flashlight and battery... then take off your shirt / right click on it / make into rags / pick up rags..... if you are bleeding, right click on rags in inv and use... this will stop the bleeding. most shirts and bandanas can be turned into rags = life saver.
