What YOU want is rather irrelevant since there are hundreds of people that want the opposite. Why should YOUR opinion matter most? Unless Rocket bans 3rd person view just suck it up and play on servers without this option enabled. Is that really so hard for you? -
Why do my barracks drops always suck ass?

My best loot from barracks so far was 1x range finder and 1x MK48 mod. Other then that it was just usual stuff you can find on deerstands. Speaking about heli crashes, found several FN FAL's, 1x M107, about 4x AS50 and few BISON SD's. -

Hey man don't want to spoil your beans but I believe you got it wrong and Sa vz.58 is NOT modification of AK but rather evolution of older Model 52 rifle. Funny thing is that even the wikipedia article you have listed says so : The vz. 58 externally resembles the Soviet AK-47 but is internally a substantially different design based on a short-stroke gas piston, which shares no parts with the Kalashnikov design Edit: I felt the need to correct you because saying that Sa vz.58 is modification of the AK is disrespectfull to our Czech engineer who made vz.58.

After recent damage nerf of pistols and SMG's (and few other weapons) I thought, that it would make sense if we can put SMG and its ammo to pistol slot. If MP5 and Bison does exactly the same dmg as 9mm pistol (glock, M9 Bereta etc) then there is almost no reason why such weak weapons should occupy the main rifle slot. SMG is already almost useless in PVP so it would be nice to have it in pistol slot for Zeds as its quieter then assault rifles and have bigger mag then pistol. p.s. I know that weapon nerf was part of arma2 1.6.2 patch and not Dayz patch but still, Rocket is in close contact with Bohemia Interactive and these changes affected DayZ very much. EDIT: We already have this with PDW so why not with MP5 and Bison? Also adding of good old Skorpion would be lovely bonus :-).

So no longer 5 mins of joining a server? Yay if it works :-) With fixing of artifact glitches and ammo exploit, it would be great...pitty duping cant be sorted that easily too.

Possible Player Skin Additions - Already in Arma2: CO

I think most of players want more skins, or even way to change separately your pants, jacket and head gear to allow more customisation. That would probably require DayZ be standalone though. Anyway would be lovely to have more skins and I dont think it would be that hard to add them since they are already in Arma2+OA. -

I think that many players do not realise that if we ALL succumb to killing on sight, the game will lose some of it's atmosphere. We need samaritans the same way we need some bandits and sadly the trend is, that samaritans are turning into cold blood killers because of all this K.O.S. religion so many people worship fanatically. -
This kind of banditry I can somehow stomach. Atleast you are mostly targeting equipped players, not hunting unarmed fresh spawns along the coast while loling or playing some derp music via direct com chat. Anyway its good to do some risky stuff in order to eliminate boredom. Its up to you if you chose to help (very risky) or to kill equipped players (a bit less risky since you expect a fight). I've helped several people, giving the morphine when I found them crawling near cherno/elektro, I gave them food if I had plenty or gave them blood if they needed. This happened only down south and mostly with players with no weapons (or axe) as up north folks will shoot like hell when they see me (even If I dont see em). If there is some wisdom in my post it might be that if you want to help, then stick mostly to beach regions since more north you go, then more armed people you will meet and these folks usually shoot on sight.

Call me too optimistic but I think we might get 1.7.2.5 before Wednesday this week! It's just my feeling based on how fast Rocket updates list of fixes, but my guts might be right. Regarding duping>ah so we gotta wait for standalone? This is a bit sad but if thats the way it is, we will have to suck it up and continue. I do not dupe sheit but I imagine there are hundreds of people who do and will continue to do so (also they will dupe mags so this new fixes to ammo count will affect only honest players).

I believe the list of fixes will include also graphical glitches around dead soldiers. Anyway its great that ammo will not be exploited by reloging, but then again people can just put some ammo to tent and exploit the hell out of it :blush: I so wish that duping would be eradicated and those bushwookies with .50cals would need to start counting the bullets...

Do you really not realise that you DID NOT buy DayZ but Arma 2? So feel free to play some campaing or multiplayer in Arma2, that's what you have bought in the end if you find DayZ mod unpleasant. Also there are several other mods for Arma 2, like ACE or Project Reality, they are also worth checking....oh and you have great editor as part of Arma 2, or you can download dozens of player created coop mission and stuff... Oh damn there are TONS of things you can do with your Arma 2 that you have purchased other then playing one mod in Alpha stage and expecting miracles.

We thank you for your report,but this has been reported already and DayZ dev team is working on the fix. Meanwhile you can roll back to previous version and play it, while they work on fixing. have a nice day

Well yea but then again its Arma2 engine. What troubles me more is that ammo mags are refilling upon server relog, that makes game worse because all these bushwookies with .50 cal have basically unlimited ammo... But yea, being able to fill empty mags might be cool especially if you could take M240 & M249 ammo boxes, take the bullets out of them and fill your stanags & dmr mags with it.

Lol mate pretty easy...and it somehow worked. What I dont get is that previously even when I have moved dayz folder to the desktop and messed up steam launcher to not include dayz reference, it did not work. Now I have just renamed dayz folder and started the game with "_runA2CO_beta" and works like a charm (played 5 mins of campain so far). I wonder if this sorts out my problem where Arma2OA stopped working when joining multiplayer game though....

Roll back to 1.7.2.3 and play this, meanwhile they will work on fixing these pesky glitches.

And how to do it? I tried the ingame mod management,but all options were grayed out. Also deleting DayZ folder did not help either, I also can not play Arma2 CO at all, only mods. edit I found this, but not sure it helps at all Go to your arma 2 oa folder > open Expansion > open BattlEye and run the uninstall.exe Go to your arma 2 folder > open BattlEye and run the uninstall.exe (if it isn't there, don't worry about it) Run the game with (the beta should still be installed - doesn't matter what one) Try to join a server - you should get stuck at either Loading or Wait for Host - this is normal Close the game and go back into your arma 2 oa folder > Expansion and delete the beta. Download and install beta patch 94700 It will ask you to install BattleEye, do so. Go into your arma 2 folder > go into BEsetup and run the .exe Go back into your arma 2 oa folder > Expansion> beta and copy the BattleEye folder (DO NOT CUT OR DELETE IT - YOU ARE MAKING TWO COPY'S OF IT). Paste the BattleEye folder in the main arma 2 oa directory. Open arma 2 oa and join a NORMAL arma game. Found also this,but did not work for me: delete your beta version install 94876 beta version o download http://www.battleye.com/download.html v1.11 / v1.60 / v1.61.94876 BE Client for Windows (32-bit) - MD5: 6c3fc9824f0f7a548fcbac0171b14c65 replace it with old file in C:\Users\%USERNAME%\AppData\Local\ArmA 2 OA\BattlEye\

Close calls/"I shouldn't be alive" moments?

I was in a barn near Cherno, hiding top floor with my trusty Lee Enfield. Man enters the barn, I could have shot him without him knowing about me but I somehow did not want to. I said I was friendly on direct com channel, he starts walking towards me. I got a bad feeling and tried to run by him on those stairs which ofc resulted in me falling and breaking my leg. Again I said I am friendly and that I dont want to shoot him even if I could have. So I started to applying morphine and I see this dude switching to axe (he had winchester I think) and slowly approaching me. Since I could not end the morphine animation I could just watch him hitting me with axe like 3 times. Before I stumbled to coma I managed to shoot him once with Lee. As I go down to the come I see him backing few steps a bit and bandaging himself slowly. He must have been rather new because he did not finish me immediately, instead he bandaged and maybe ate something before taking axe out again and comming towards me. Luck was on my side, I woke up from coma and blasted his arse with Enfield and managed to bandage myself with 1700 blood left :D . Like 30 mins later my buddy arrived and gave me transfusion and we had good laugh. It was 3rd attempt to axe murder me or my buddy this evening (yesterday).
