Very nice thread! Please guys post more of your findings and maybe provide some pictures of your creation (ingame ones). I so wished that duct tape could be used to modify weapon to attach flashlight, but Devs said that it would require 1 extra model for each such weapon. I mean yes, it is extra work, but details are one the things that make games great! -

That all sounds nice and dandy untill Devs clearly stated, that they do not want to have so many different calibers. I mean NOT wanting to introduce 5,45x39mm AK74 is simply blowing my mind and comment, that Vz.58 is not distinctive enough to make it into the game (even if they constantly remind us of using Czech Rep as setting) is making me very sad and a bit disappointed. But yeah, it can be just me I guess. I still love SA, it's just that more and more decisions the Devs take is starting to irk me. -
Can't understand hows that possible. I mean you have tons of games with adjustable FOV and optics, and they do not have these kinds of problems :-/.

Just google how to use that thing. You basically use that "thingie" it has on the left side to measure distance based on the height of target. Then you aim with corresponding chevron.

Wish pistol mags spawned a hell lot more then it is now. And not mostly in just military installations. Also Sporter mags should spawn only in civilian buildings and not in barracks or jails. Oh well, back to waiting for proper loot tables.

Idle animations would be easy. Just make it so that your avatar is slowly turning head looking around. If he is standing,he can straighten is shoulders or something, you know what people do when they are forced to just stand still. Or wipe his brow or such. Ofcourse those would need to stop immediately if the player pressed the key. In regards to OP, I think that game needs stamina to severely limit sprinting. Not sure I would like to see noticeable delay when changing directions though, would seem like playing Mechwarrior. I don't believe that the way how people realisticaly walk & run can be transferred into the game without making it painfull to play. When my character is unresposive, I tend to push keys harder and if that situation lasts longer, my hands might hurt a bit which is not what I would like to experience when playing games. If I want to feel pain, I will go out for airsoft action, run around woods with backpack and my G&G AKMS.

If they manage to introduce proper zombie pathing via newly announced "navmesh" (or how was it called), I think that will bring back some more confidence in the Devs and show "game is doomed" type of players they might have been mistaken gravely. -

They already sold enough to warrant proper development and support for few years. So take your break, play something different, come back later or even wait for Beta phase. -
I have to agree. Gas mask has no place on vacations! The bad skin rash he would get....dont even get me started.

You should have waited till the end of May. By that time we should have campfires, bows, maybe some hunting, some more tactical clothing and devs know what else (oh the new big town up north too!). -
By now, we all know, that weapon handling and dmg in general is balls and most likely just placeholder (we hope). Still SKS has it's uses and I kinda like that gun, even if only for how superb it fits the setting of Eastern country (more then Blaze tbh). About dmg system, I wish they made it so that 1 bullet hit to the back, destroys max 1 item in backpack. As it is now, it seems like the bullet bounces back and forth in the backpack and then continue its way to the body itself.

As a passive patriot I voted for C(Z)R75. I've had it few times, mostly without magazine though which was a pitty.

We have to wait and see but I kinda trust, that the new vehicles will be done differently and better then in mod. Will be happy times to search for vehicle, then spend hours to get parts for fixing it and then go out in a blaze of fire.... I remember, back in a mod, when I heard a car I scrambled to hide in a bush or under a tree. Holding my trusty weapon in sweaty pals...thinking if I should spray the car or not....something simillar as with hearing the chopper flying about.

I think you can find solace in knowing that once SA is open for modding, there most likely going to be some spinoff which will add tank or APC or something.

I also think that they might have changed the spawns, because adding of Balota barracks and also those barracks above Kamenka + Zelenogorsk. I cant shake the feeling it was a bad decision. Maybe if they include sorts of NATO guard post&base somewhere far far north, that would provide better loot then good 'ole barracks, then maybe I could see the sense in adding barracks down south. YES YES! Maybe even remove barracks from Zeleno and leave just Jail building and some police station.

We are really not sure how fast those tanks would be. You can check Gews post about speed of tanks, 60 Km/h isn't exactly slow when compared to running people. Also the fact, that including tanks would mean including more RPG's or other means of defence against tanks. Before you would know it, DayZ would turn into Arma 2 with zombies, which I surely would not want to. Feel free to disagree with me, it's your right, but even you have to realise that tanks would change gameplay A LOT....and I'm really doubtful it would be for the good. EDIT: DayZ mod and most of it's mutations (except Dayz 2017) provided excellent gameplay without single tank or APC. Why should it be different with SA?

Yes bow can be craftable even now, but does not shoot at all. I think Hicks mentioned working bow in next patch.

LAV or APC is not called a tank by anybody except maybe you. Since you googled the word tank, why did not you phrase: " Modern tanks are strong mobile land weapons platforms, mounting a large-calibre cannon in a rotating gun turret. They combine this with heavy vehicle armour providing protection for the crew of the weapon and operational mobility, which allows them to position on the battlefield in advantageous locations. " So again, by saying tank, majority of people would think of....a tank as if with tracks, huge cannon and lots of armor. So nothing you could disable with weapons we have in DayZ, as you have boldly (and wrongly) stated. Just give it a rest and/or stop trolling, good night.

But ...but I love old dodge chargers! Also regarding Arma 3, it was said many times, that by the time they started to work on DayZ SA, the Arma 3 engine was far from complete. Hell even now it's still being tweaked, so I kinda trust their proclamation, that it would make the development even longer. On the other side yes, Arma 3 engine is better. Love the lightning and generaly it feels more smooth. True, WW2 online is HUGE but come on, the graphics is kinda obsolete, would'nt you agree? Plus DayZ does not need map as huge as whole Europe even though it's mesmerizing vision. -
As simple thing as adding new outfit is, it really makes a lot of people happy to go about finding their prefered outfit and then admire their ingame avatars. Same should be with weapons, no matter they use the same ammo, we should have more choice what type of AK or NATO weapon to use. Hopefully ton of stuff will be added down the road, both in clothing, backpacks and weapons ofc.

That one will be in game, I would bet money on it. What I do not understand is, that we did not get AK74 long time ago, since it was AK74 they showed in one of their pre-release vids. Well it could have been ported model from mod, but still, AK74 is must have.
