Gun movement is not synchronized with crosshair...
hombrecz replied to Sputnik (DayZ)'s topic in General Discussion
Gun play is terrible only if you try to play it like twitch shooter ;) . If you think about it, you would "move" MP5 faster then longer and heavier AKM or M16. Let's also not forget it is a game. Some mechanics might be a bit clunky, but they usualy have meaning. In case of gun lagging behind cursor this mechanics should make lighter weapons better for close combat, since they do not lag that much. Personally I like this gun dexterity thingie. I would hate it in Counter Strike or BF, but in Arma or DayZ I'm all for it. edit: And before I finish my post and mention CQB, Gibonez beats me to it O_o. -
Can someone explain why the hell I keep spawning as an Asian woman?
hombrecz replied to sketch814's topic in General Discussion
I think that demand for cute asian women will only go up, not the other way around. WE NEED MOAR! btw how cool it would be to be able to play as fat american/european lady huh? It would be material for some social study how many times fattie will be KOS'ed as opposed to cute slim Asian chick. -
I don't think graphic is somehow turned down. Only in Novodmitrovsk, I have some LOD problems even with normal object details, that I can't sometimes see through windows or open doors. Well maybe they are doing something, still I like the graphics a lot. Only wish we could have 35+ FPS in cities when we have PC's that should handle that (i5 or i7 etc).

I loved deerstands back in a day! I mean you almost never got anything ultra good from them, but I was happy to have some AKM or plain M4...occasionaly I found that pimped looking desert camo M4 with flashlight! Best loot was at the barracks and heli crashes and I felt it was good decision. You can survive even with mediocre weapons, everybody should not run around with Mk48 or DMR's anyway.

Just yesterday I got shot 2x in the back, by dude with SKS. Ok my vision got blurry and lost some color, BUT i was not bleeding at all ! I ran away to meet mu buddy and 10 minutes later we headshotted that f00l who attacked me, when he climbed to the roof of hospital. My tac vest was ruined, pistol in it as well and also some cans. Also jacket was ruined so were like 5 tin cans I had there. Strangely enough backpack was ok and nothing ruined inside it. Now I am not totaly sure he shot me directly from behind or if he was a bit to the side. Darn, will try that !! Btw I hope they fix this damage reduction model though O_o.

I hope it is nowhere......and everywhere!! That was the beauty of the mod, you could meet players even in the most remote areas of the map. I remember several firefights along remote deer stands far north near Devils castle. Basically anywhere I went, no matter how remote, there was a chance that I will meet somebody. That made gameplay so tense, I kinda miss this in Standalone at the moment. I really feel that DayZ SA is really not ment to be played in a way, that you go to spot X, to get PvP. It should happen naturally!

How will you play, Hardcore or Standard
hombrecz replied to WashedUpPoet's topic in General Discussion
Two of my friends actually have headaches, when playing hardcore and being in low fps towns. I simply can't wait for client to get optimised, so that we can have 40+ FPS in towns with object quality atleast normal or better. Anyway it is a beautiful world when you can chose yourself. Calling 3rd person ON servers lamercore feels like you are being elitist pricks. Btw OP, this discussion was done to death already, why do you feel the need to revive it once again? Are you that hungry for some beanz? -
I think them tin cans in jackets, tac vests and pants are saving a lot of dudes.

I think we sort of misunderstood the central hive thing..
hombrecz replied to Irish.'s topic in General Discussion
It's pretty simple. Only thing that moves between server is your character with all the gear he carries. So yea, your tents and vehicles stays on the server where you originally got them. -
It's good when updates are raining, hopefully it wount dry up any time soon :).

Along With The Police clothing Wasn't There A......(Gear Discussion)
hombrecz replied to Deathlove's topic in General Discussion
The anti-stab one has even written "police" on it. Still police could use also ballistic vest...and also that helmet with "plexi glass" face cover. -
I think I know what you did here...! :D

I just (an hour ago) got shot wice by SKS in the back (in game heh). Jacket and tacvest ruined, all stuff in tac vest ruined (p1 pistol and some cans), most of the stuff in jacket ruined (several tin cans), but I survived and did not bleed at all. My vision was bit black & whiteysh, but nothing too horrible. I mean I expected to be messed up more with 2 shots of 7.62x39 from SKS. Also funnily enough, nothing in my backpack was ruined even though Im pretty sure I was got from behind. I guess this is what folks are calling damage inconsistency or did items in jacket & vest ate most of the dmg?

One or two peeps managed to log out on me before I learned, that they do not simply sit, but then crouch, go prone, often even stand up and they even move head and look at you. I prefered log out posture as in dayz mod (I think Taviana or Origin), where your character started to surrender and move in specific way. Was hard to not spot that.

Here is the information I gathered about the CR527 from the in-game files
hombrecz replied to leefriendfield's topic in General Discussion
The article mentiones special 5.56 with 77g, which is probably not what most of the grunts have. Ofc I can only wildly speculate, I am FAR from anything close to gun expert or something, so I woun't pretend I am one. It's just that I think M. Kalashnikov knew his job + there are attempts to introduce 6.5 as well as 6.8 caliber to the army, so I can kinda believe that both 5.56 and 5.45 might be underperforming somehow and certainly not fit for future. Also what I believe is, that business founded on manufacturing of 5.56x45 will oppose this plus any mass rearming would cost a lot of money and big spending is not very popular these days. -

hombrecz replied to leefriendfield's topic in General Discussion
If that article is close to the truth, then 5.56x45 is more shitty caliber than I've ever thought. Maybe the good old M. Kalashnikov was right. He said, that when USSR adopted smaller 5.45x39 to replace 7.62x39 it was a big mistake. USSR did this because they thought, that USA must have known something when they adopted 5.56. In the end they both might have fallen to false marketing. Source -
I hope that it means, that despicable server hoppers will have hard time to get some ultra good stuff. Maybe these 80 places for heli crashes are doing it's job and really prevents people from easily farming them. Good times!

Only places I found sporter mags were jail buildings and army tents, which made Sporter totaly useless. As I QQ'ed many times, Sporter's mag needs to go to strictly civilian loot to make Sporter viable. Personaly I would love to try surviving with Sporter provided I had atleast 5 round magazine for it. -
:) I've found MP5 and 1x 15rnd mag in the next room. But havent played much since then, so I will see how it goes to find another one.

I think we sort of misunderstood the central hive thing..
hombrecz replied to Irish.'s topic in General Discussion
Well yea, 1 char per server fixes: 1. ghosting 2. server hopping for loot It also helsp to build sorts of community, if many of the same folks play on the same server. So yeah, the character persistency isn't that great and it was one of the things I loved on private hives (along with whitelist). -
Well surprisingly enough, devs acknowledged some weapon change suggestions made by Gews, which tbh surprised me a lot :-). But on the other hand they came with this "streamlining" of calibers that worries me. Time will tell how it goes. Btw I'm very glad that we are enjoying lots of updates recently, it's delicious, thanks devs.

hombrecz replied to Irish.'s topic in General Discussion
Hm I think phasing was when you progressed in quest and map around you changed because of that. For example some NPC built a camp, because you slaughtered their opposition. That change was visible only for you and folks who did the same quest already. Other folks simply vanished from your sights, if they did not complete that quest yet. Those different "realities" were in Age of Conan and lately also in Wildstar. Due to technical reason, you simply did not see every player, even if they were standing at the same spot as you. Well it's true that DayZ is not 100% MMO as we understand it, atleast not when compared to World of Warcraft, Age of Conan or any of big mmo's. Maybe Rocket ment just persistency of your character, that you can switch server and still be on the same place on the map with the same avatar. -

hombrecz replied to Irish.'s topic in General Discussion
Well many MMO's uses "instances" meaning you all are one 1 server, but do not see everybody at the same spot. In that way DayZ SA is MMO, because you can "hop" from one "instance" to another and meet all those people similar as in many MMO's. Btw I disliked that method a lot, did not feel right knowing there are other players where I stood, just in another "reality". Was probably only due to HW limitations, but felt wrong to miss all those players. edit: I don't mean instances like dungeons, but when outside map has several version through which players are spread, thus not meeting each other, unless in the same "version" or how to call it. I forgot that damned expression they used in Age of Conan for this. -
Found just 1x 15 rnd mag in police station, in some side room. Funnily found mp5 in next room as well. Wish it took just 2x4 places in backpack, no 3x4 O_o.

Players should run slower, then you can enjoy the scenery more :). Anyway would love if norther borders were expanded and we got some mountain ranges, valleys, snow, maybe blizzards etc! Also hypothermia could happen...oh that would be something.
