Heh yeah, back in mod, Kamenka was a bad news :-). On the other hand now, in standalone, Kamenka is pretty decent! Nearby supermarket, Pavlovo mil base then Zeleno. I'd say it's one of the best spawns except when your buddies are in Novo or something.

I think it's mostly get closer to your buddies, atleast in my experience. Towns like Chernaya Polana are hardly bad spawn places anyway.

My personal, and I'm not saying it's better suggestion, would be to either remove them completely, or make them very rare. I don't think they fit the theme much. Besides, if we could carve holes for the eyes to burlap sack and wear it as a mask, it would make for far better mask imho.

I'm fine with Sporter as it is except that mags are still rather rare, or mostly spawning in police stations, while I would expect them in civilian buildings.

Yesterday, on experimental, I found small stone when searching rocky ground. Could sharped machette with it, but only up to damaged. Same with hatchet.

Splitting axe does not degrate that fast. Fireman axe is another story though. Also it should be possible (exp server) to split (pickaxe?) stone into small stone, which takes only 1 invetory space. I hope you can sharpen the axe with the small one as well. Anyway looking for incoming exp patch. Maybe we get lockpicks now and can lock/unlock the doors. I hope that doors can be destroyed with melee weapons as well. Imagine get trapped inside a building on private shard server. Your character would be doomed to starvation....

I would not say there is "blatant" flaw anywhere. Really can't see anything being done about folks printing dayz map, having it on other device or simply alt+tabing to check it. I understand your sentiment about this...but that's what it is, no flaw on game's side. Player with range finder will still have advantage over players, since range finding with it will still be quicker than gaping at the map. That, plus not everyone even uses map for range finding in the first place. So again, I don't see any flaw, just wishful thinking that people would not metagame. Noble wish, but that's about it.

Not everyone will be using external map, not in the heat of the battle, to calculate range. As for civilian range finder being extremely rare, that is open for the debate. I doubt the basic hunting range finder should be extremely range, not when it's range isn't that great and there most likely will be better military model. Lastly, after some ingame experience, one does not really need to calculate range that much, but simply guess it. Might not be 100% accurate everytime, but works pretty well. And it is really waste of time to despise 3rd party stuff like TeamSpeak and DayZdb. It is simply the way it is, nothing can be done about it.

Wonder how hard, in real life, is to aim with this shotty. I'm asking because the iron sights are a bit crappy to be honest. Back in mod, I liked that military shotgun since it had very nice ironsights.

Yes back in mod most doors were hydraulic press. I remember once, was trying to pick some stuff from inside this shit house, only to accidentaly activate "close door" and have myself crushed into paste...

Dude, you are clearly mixing DayZ mod with DayZ standalone. Standalone Berezino never had those military tents nor should it. As it is now, there is sh*t ton of barracks, several times more than in mod. Anyway if you crave tents, try west of Myshkino or good 'ole NWA.

Iron sights on repeater are ok. Iron sights on pump action are a bit bad (tiny dot at the end of the barrel).

Yup looks nice although I was somehow more randy about pump action shotty :). We found repeater in some barn, luckily I had some ammo and as lady luck wanted it, there was wild boar lollygagging around, so he was the first victim.

I think the whole inventory handling needs overhaul. In my opinion, only stuff in easily accessible pockets (pants, jacket, tac vest) should be accessible via hotbar. For stuff in backpack the ingame character should stop running and kneel. This whole reloading from backpack while sprinting is a bit crazy.

Tbh after so long, it is so damn refreshing to get lost!! If I could, I would willingly erease my memories of DayZ mod, so that I could explore Chernarus once again and have a BLAST.

Crap had to go through this topic and gave beans left and right. I'm always glad when they introduce new weapons. Although if I had to chose, I'd rather take pump action shotty, but repeater is lovely as well. Originaly I was against weapons that I felt did not fit former Soviet union state, but I've changed my ways. I still do not want weapons like Kriss Vector or anything ultra fancy to be added, but repeater? Why not. Was in mod anyway right? Only problem I see is the lack of ammo for it, but that can/will be tweaked. Also to the people saying they do not care about new guns/items and that bugs and hacking should be a priority. Alpha is for adding features and stuff, beta for polishing, plus dudes making gun/item models are hardly the same ones fighting with hackers or bugs. So why not have both? But yea I understand that if game was suddenly made 100% hack proof, it would mean a lot more than new rifle. Personally I'm so eager for new renderer. So hope it will help with better frames. Btw it has been kinda quiet lately right? I mean not so many posts from devs, I hope that majority of devs are not on sick leave, because it's this time in year when flu and other shit usually strikes. edit: Am I the only one who gets "no message received" on stable every 10 - 15 minutes? I mean I do not see that message at first, but I can not perform any action, can not open door, can not inspect items in inventory....
