    I'm affraid you are making a huge generalisation here. When I mention specific weapons, you should really not assume I talk about all weapons in general. It is a big difference, from gameplay perspective, if SPECIFICALLY P1,CZ75 and Sporter can spawn with magazine, or when we are talking about M4's, SVD's or whatever. What I've mentioned leads to couple of underdogs to be more viable and used and absolutely NOTHING else. People would still go and look for better weapons, no harm done. But ok, lets continue in this pointless debate, where you clearly just want to argue using huge generalisations and other naysayer's tools of the trade...

    You fought for the right cause and you have my beans! The only thing necessary for the triumph of casual player is for DayZ mod players to do nothing. I guess that the reason why Mosin is so good atm is, that there is simply nothing else to fill the role of "sniper". Once they introduce SVD, then maybe Mosin can be tuned down to reflect more it's real life role, something that Katana67 called "poor-man's sniper rifle with PU scope". And yes, I'd like if good optics were rather rare. Not sure about specific %, but should be something you value a lot if found. I hope that with more weapons getting into the game, the existing ones could be tweaked to fill role closer to their real-life counterparts.

    What you are omiting, and I'm affraid quite on a purpose, is that I specifically mentioned couple of the weakest firearms, plus I was talking about small chance of them having magazine. I mostly wanted their mags to spawn in civilian loot. I fail to see how having this opinion collides with wanting game weapons having real calibers? Or is it because I want real calibers, that I have to fight for everything being super realistic, like boots having different sizes? I'm trying to see thing from gameplay and realism perspective as well and while correct calibers is something I see as important and good for the game, different shoe sizes I do not. Even if game is often called running simulator, I do not believe the emphasis should be on the size of clothing. Weapons, obviously, are a lot more important for the whole gaming experience. So please rephrase for me, what is it you do not agree with me on? Magazines for certain weapons spawning in civilian loot? You said you agree. Magazines for certain weapons having small chance (less then 10%) to spawn with them? You said you would accept that. Or are we arguing for the sake of argument? Sometimes it seems so...

    It is very strange you typing this, because I clearly recal having typed below. If you want to check it, it was in a topic you have created called "Ballistic Vest - What should it do?" on page 4. Now you make this post and imply, that I am for streamlining things in general, which I obviously am not. You were against twisting someone's words or assuming things, yet now you are doing exactly the same. Btw I voted 10% here, same as you did, and I voted that military weapons should have lower chance of spawning with mag. How on Earth, is this making me fan of streamlining, is simply beyond me.

    Personally I'd be happy if Mosin did not accept any attachments except just PU scope and bayonet (wish those worked). When I look at it from both realism and gameplay side, Mosin should be pretty low on the "tech" tree of guns you could get. So it should be less accurate then Blazer95 or CZ527 and if we had 7.62x54R, it could have more common ammo then 7.62x51, meaning it could be used more often. Then again if SVD came in 7.62x54R, not sure how that would affect gameplay,if it's ammo was easy to find. Maybe that is why they hesitate to introduce SVD before that global economy thingie is done? I wonder how much such discussions, as this one, were different if there was a lot of different guns in game. Maybe then nobody would care much about Mosin not accepting LR scope. As far as optics on CZ527 go, should devs implement scope rings to be lootable item, which would allow mounting of scopes?
  6. On that account I'd like to say, that you are certainly not making things easier for us. I fully understand you are trying to make complex aguments, but I think those could often be made in less elaborate way. Bear in mind that game is being developed in Czech republic, developing team is multinational, it is to be expected that level of English will vary a lot on these forums. I'm trying to say that if you can make your argument in a simpler way, it might be the best way to do it. If we were having this discussion at College in US or UK, then the situation would be completely different obviously. I'm not trying to say your logic or arguments are bad, it's just that sometimes simple might be better :).

  8. Persistent storage and loot respawn in one patch? Servers gonna explode :-D. Would be super cool if CZ527 gets in. Also it is civilian weapon so should spawn in piano buildings, red brick houses and some other, meaning that filthy server hoppers woun't be able to rob us of every single on of these, like they are doing with AKM's.
  9. I would not like if Ukrainian separatists, who have their best equipment only thanks to Russia, would be automaticaly taken as some kind of norm when talking about guerilla fighters. I would doubt that, because: 1. proper calibers are still no go from devs even when many folks voiced their displeasure about it 2. M4 attachments have magical attributes even when many folks voiced their displeasure about it 3. talks about catering for "casual" players means most likely ignoring wishes of dayz mod players Don't get me wrong, I would rejoice if devs change their approach on all these things. It's just at this moment it's not all peachy. And talking about AK-101 is only proving point 1. If only member of AK74 family would be export AK-101, it will only reinforce my opinion about devs don't listening to the people or listening only when it suits their needs for streamlining and making stuff easier for "casuals". But I remain hopefull devs will change their attitude for the better. Btw No problem with "double post".

  11. If you are "playing" realism card on this, then you might have forgotten that Ukrainian rebels are heavily supported by Moscow. Without help of the Russians, they would hardly sport so much gear, hence your Ukrainian rebels reference is moot when talking about DayZ. Anyway I agree, that military clothing should not be regulated, but should be more rare, certainly the western one. Regarding weapon rarity it is nice to talk about it, although I doubt that devs will be swayed much by anything folks type here. Also to have proper debate, we kinda would need to know, what weapons, or even weapon types, will we be having in DayZ SA. For example why talk about regulation of .50 cals, when they might not even be in the game?

    But maybe later guys!! Remember, devs said DayZ SA should be supported several years, so after they've added the majority of weapons, why not go back and create sawn-off and dusct taped flashlight? :) Tbh I like anything custom, since this should be apocalypse, so I would love even AKM or M4 magazines duct taped together and such makeshift improvements.

    Was not sure about ammo of the WW2 anti-tank weapons there. Still I think bolt action Kar98K would be a better addition gameplay-wise, then rusty ww2 anti-tank rifle. On the other hand neither the Kar98K is needed atm, since we have Mosin and CZ527 is on it's way as well. But maybe later, why not having more weapons of the same type just with different rarity. So both Kar98K and Mosin, both AKM and Sa vz.58 etc. Except it would not, if devs decided not to include any svastika at all.

    It would be just nice, if Devs adjusted the loot spawns soon, even if those are far far from being anywhere near complete. I would really love to use Sporter and some pistols more, but without going to military installations. Btw what made me smiling was a tweet, that devs are looking at shotgun to fix it. Would love to use shottie again.

    Ok that is surely interesting idea, but personally I would rather see few Kar98K rifles or maybe their later variants in 7.62x51 caliber. I don't think that old ani-tank rifles would fit into the game that much,also I would not expect anybody producing ammo for them for quite some time now :).

    I think the only real problem with this for Devs is, that they would have to go and and redo every gun model to sawn-off version. Since Scubaman already stated, that duct taping flashlight to rifles is no go, because of the time the graphics would have to spent on making these models, I doubt they will devote this time for sawn-off models of every rifle.

    Not sure if you did not miss the part, where I specifically named weapons like CR75,P1 and Sporter. These weapons, in my opinion, would benefit greatly of having a chance to spawn with empty magazine as to make them more viable (+mags spawning in civilian loot). Because if the sitation remains as it is, you wil, in majority of cases, end up with SKS, Mosin, Magnum, before you get to effectively use P1,CR75 or Sporter and that is only because of the magazines. These weapons are as well on the weaker side of the spectrum, so it does not make much sense gameplay-wise to make their usage even harder, because of the elusive magazines. But maybe I'm seeing it wrong, maybe what would be enough is those mags finally spawning in civilian buildings as well. Would be great if devs reconsidered this as such change should not be technically hard, but would improve gameplay as I believe. Btw I also think that SKS should get longer reload when not using that "clip" thingie.
  19. I understand your feelings, everybody who was/is trying to be friendly knows this. Also agree, that for me the worst part isn't being KOS'ed, that I see as clear declaration of hostility, but rather lying and pretending, only to pop one in my head from behind or something. But maybe that is only because I personally do not do such things. I dislike lying and tricking people to kill them afterwards even if it's only in the game ofc. On the other hand people are often dicks, so it should not be that surprising. It's just another proof that trying to be friendly is 10x harder then just KOS'ing or tricking people. Also next time try to convince the person you've met, to put his weapon on back. After getting tricked few times, you will most likely learn 99% of their usual tricks and how to spot certain signs betraying their true intentions. Anyway stay strong and play your own way!

    Custom faces idea for the Devs to consider

    For starters, just more faces to chose from would be golden. But yeah, it was good times in Arma 2, where you could slap your own face upon that of your avatar. Plus it was ok to shoot dickhead with Hitler's face on.

    I'd be happy if those 5 and 10 round magazines could spawn with the weapon,but the 30rnd mag would need to be found in civilan spawns. That way we would have some progression even with Sporter. Anyway I too would like to use Sporter for some time, but at the moment, due the mag issue that was already discussed, it is unlikely unless I want to place myself at huge disadvantage. It's not that things like matches, fishing hook, compass, pen & paper, sewing kit, tablets, some loose ammo, can opener etc weights that much! But it always takes an inventory slot, so even if we have weight system, which I would welcome btw, you could carry lots of different stuff just that majority would be small items. So yea, I like the idea of carrying more stuff, but within given weight system once that is implemented. Should be my choice whether I carry rifle, SMG, 2x pistol,tons of ammo or I carry just a rifle but also more food and survival items. Stamina & weight system would lovely balance the game in that regard.

    I understand that but yet I think, that having some chance for weapons I've mentioned to spawn with empty magazine, would be good. See, we could have both their mags spawning in civilian areas and having small chance of them to spawn with mag. It is not like Sporter is a weapon you will not swap rather quickly. Having chance to get it with mag would prolong it's usefulness, which I find a good thing.

    Game is not even half finished, majority of features probably missing, so I don't think you can expect an answer right now. If they really add all those diseases, weather causing hypothermia and such stuff, then surviving will become quite a challenge in itself. And yes, interaction and PvP (that often ensues) plays major role in DayZ, same as it did in mod. If you are new to DayZ, then I guess I understand why you ask, if you have played mod, then you should already know what's what. Lastly if SA at some point will be given to the modding community, you can expect tons of variable SA mods, each providing different play experience to some degree (some having no diseases and tons of weapons, other the other way around etc). EDIT: But to answer your question more directly, for me it is to having fun playing....
